S & S Auto Repair Introduce

Located at 343 S 5th St, St Pauls, NC 28384, USA, S & S Auto Repair serves the local community as an establishment within the "Auto Repair Stations" platform category. This business aims to provide essential repair and maintenance services for vehicles in St. Pauls, NC, and the surrounding areas. Customers can reach them directly via phone at (910) 865-2147 or their mobile number +1 910-865-2147.

As an "Auto Repair Station," S & S Auto Repair is equipped to handle a range of automotive issues, offering both services and potentially necessary parts for sale to facilitate repairs. Businesses in this category typically provide diagnostic services, mechanical repairs, and routine maintenance to ensure vehicles are safe and operational. Their role is to be a go-to resource for vehicle owners when their cars experience problems or require scheduled servicing.

The environment at S & S Auto Repair, while not extensively detailed in the provided information, can be inferred through the contrasting customer experiences. A positive review highlights a feeling of being "treated like family," suggesting a welcoming and personal atmosphere, typical of a local, community-focused repair shop. This implies a friendly counter, a space where customers can discuss their vehicle issues comfortably, and potentially a waiting area. Conversely, the negative review, detailing multiple unsuccessful repair attempts and a feeling of being scammed, points to an environment that, at least in that instance, failed to instill trust and efficient problem-solving. This suggests that the shop's operational transparency or diagnostic thoroughness may vary, impacting the overall customer experience within their facility.

The services offered by S & S Auto Repair, as indicated by its classification and customer reviews, primarily involve general automotive repair and maintenance. These services typically include:

  • Vehicle Diagnostics: Identifying the root cause of car problems, as evidenced by attempts to diagnose and fix a recurring issue.
  • General Mechanical Repairs: Addressing a broad spectrum of car problems, from minor fixes to potentially major component replacements. The reviews mention a "problem with my car" being "fixed," implying a range of repair capabilities.
  • Routine Maintenance: While not explicitly stated, as an auto repair shop, they would likely offer standard services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections and repairs, and fluid checks.
  • Parts Procurement and Installation: For any repairs, S & S Auto Repair would source and install the necessary automotive parts.

The positive review specifically praises their "work and prices," implying that they handle a variety of vehicle services competently and at competitive rates. However, the negative review raises concerns about the effectiveness of their diagnostics and the reliability of their repairs, suggesting that a customer's experience with the resolution of complex or recurring issues may not always be straightforward.

The features of S & S Auto Repair, as conveyed by the provided customer feedback, present a mixed but critical perspective:

  • Personalized Customer Relations (Positive Aspect): One of the key strengths, as highlighted by a satisfied customer, is their ability to treat clients "like family." This personal touch can foster strong loyalty and a sense of trust, especially for those new to the area seeking a reliable local mechanic.
  • Competitive Pricing (Positive Aspect): The positive review specifically mentions that their "prices have been great," indicating that the shop offers cost-effective solutions for vehicle servicing.
  • Quality of Work (Contrasting Experiences): There's a clear divergence in feedback regarding the quality and effectiveness of their work. The positive review states their "work has been great," suggesting successful repairs. However, the negative review outlines multiple failed attempts to fix the same problem, leading to significant wasted expense and a feeling of distrust. This indicates that while they may perform well on certain repairs, complex or intermittent issues might pose challenges in their diagnostic or repair process.
  • Responsiveness (Implied): While not explicitly stated, the phrase "treated me like family" from a long-term customer implies good communication and responsiveness to client needs. However, the negative review's progression suggests a lack of effective resolution over time, which can erode trust in responsiveness.
  • Trustworthiness (Contrasting Experiences): Trust is a significant theme. The positive review showcases strong trust developed over time, stemming from consistent good work and fair prices. Conversely, the negative review details a complete breakdown of trust, resulting in a feeling of being "scammed" and leaving the customer with "distrust when it comes to repair shops." This contrasting feedback underscores that trustworthiness, while present for some, can be a major point of contention for others.

Regarding promotional information, no specific campaigns or special offers are detailed in the provided reviews. For a local auto repair shop like S & S Auto Repair, their primary form of promotion would typically rely on their reputation and word-of-mouth referrals. The positive review, with its strong endorsement from a former service manager, serves as a powerful testament to their capabilities and customer care for some clients. This kind of endorsement from an industry professional is invaluable for attracting new business, as it implies a high standard of service and value. However, the significantly negative review, detailing frustrating and costly unresolved issues, would naturally deter potential customers if widely known. Therefore, S & S Auto Repair's actual promotional impact in the community would be a complex balance of these contrasting experiences. Effective promotion for them would involve consistently delivering reliable repairs and clear communication to build and maintain the positive reputation highlighted by their loyal customers, while actively addressing and preventing the issues that led to the severe dissatisfaction expressed in the negative feedback.

S & S Auto Repair Customer Reviews

We just moved to Parkton about 7 months ago. We were in need of shop to service our vehicles. I was a Service Manager for a Chrysler and Ford dealership for 30 years. I choose S&S Auto in St Paul's. These guys have treated me like family. Their work and prices have been great.

Never going back to this repair shop again, I feel like it was one scam after another. Was told the problem with my car was fixed, but then had to return a second time because of the same problem. Was then told once again they found and fixed the problem, but days later the same problem popped back up. After spending nearly 800 dollars on the first few times I was then told by the last and final time that it was something really major, which I'm now realizing they should have tested and found out before doing anything else. I will now have to get a new car and the hundreds of dollars I spent on the other one was just a waste of money. The only thing they really gave me was a distrust when it comes to repair shops.

First time there took vehicle in for inspection and oil change. I will never go there again. The customer service was absolutely horrible and I have a Legal higher tint on my vehicle for cancer reasons and was given a very hard time and had to have all kinds of paperwork. I’ve never been asked before, but I did present it, and I still was given a hard time about it. I also was given a hard time about my oil change stating they didn’t have the filters. They’d have to let me know when they got it and the whole thing was such a disaster. I never go there again. I would tell no one to go there ever Disrespect beyond belief and I’m one of the good guys. I couldn’t believe it. I’ll never go again. Don’t go there.

I was coming to this place for my oil changes. I asked them do they check fluids and everything, they said yes. The first oil change was good, so I thought. Went back a second time and oil light came on a few weeks later. It needed oil and they charged me Xtra for the type of oil I needed. This last time, it's been about a month now. I have no fluids in my car(coolant bone dry), almost blew my motor up. Had to spend money on a tow truck and pay for a full service inspection at another shop. Will never come back again. N had over another 2000m before inspection date. U want to keep your vehicle dont come here for oil changes

It’s hard to find a good repair shop these days, but S&S doesn’t disappoint. Friendly, reliable, capable and they will legitimately tell you when a repair just isn’t worth the money. They value returning customers over pennies. I’ve been using them since we PCS’d to Ft Bragg three years ago. Every experience has been great but two stand out for me; 1. Nobody in a 50 mile radius could figure out my electrical/lights issues. They sorted it out with ease. 2. I asked for an inspection on a truck I wanted to buy. They found significant rust issues that would have cost me thousands to repair, not to mention buying a problem truck. It only cost $49 bucks for peace of mind and he still took half of that because he just didn’t want to rip me off. Good people.
