Rosedale (NOW UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP AS UNIQUE TIRE AND AUTO REPAIR) Introduce

Located at 18760 Grand River Ave, Detroit, MI 48223, USA, the establishment formerly known as **Rosedale** is now operating under new ownership as **Unique Tire and Auto Repair**. This introduction will objectively present information about the previous operations of Rosedale, as reflected in the provided customer reviews, which are critically important for potential customers to consider. The "Auto Repair Stations" category typically implies a commitment to professional and reliable vehicle service; however, the experiences shared by customers of the former Rosedale paint a highly concerning picture of its past conduct within this category.

The environment, as described by past customers of Rosedale, was one marked by significant issues related to trustworthiness and professional integrity, rather than a positive or welcoming atmosphere. The reviews directly allege instances of "scamming," "stolen" money and parts, and work that was not completed as promised or was done incorrectly, leading to further damage. While the physical shop itself might have appeared as a typical auto repair facility, the operational environment, from the customer's perspective, was fraught with unreliability and a blatant disregard for customer assets and vehicle well-being. The issues with communication, including unreturned calls and staff being absent during advertised business hours, created an environment of frustration and inconvenience, directly impacting customers' ability to get to work and losing pay. This highly negative portrayal of the operational environment severely contradicts the expectations of a professional auto repair station.

The services offered by Rosedale, based on the provided reviews, ostensibly included general automotive repairs, but the execution of these services is the primary point of concern. Customers sought services such as:

  • **Transmission Service:** A basic fluid change, filter replacement, and pan replacement were initially quoted. However, a review alleges that the full service was not completed, despite charges, with only the pan being replaced to "look" like the work was done.
  • **Drive Belt Restrictor Installation:** A customer attempted to have a simple part installed, which was allegedly never put in despite being purchased and promised.
  • **Front Wheel Bearing Replacement:** A customer brought their car in for shaking while driving. The bearings were replaced, but the shaking persisted, and other sensors were allegedly broken during the repair process.
  • **Sensor Replacement (Speed and ABS):** Following the wheel bearing replacement, sensors were reported as broken, and the shop allegedly demanded additional payment to fix them.

While these are standard services one would expect from an "Auto Repair Station," the critical issue highlighted in the reviews is the alleged discrepancy between the service promised/charged and the service actually rendered, along with purported new damage or theft during the repair process. This raises serious questions about the integrity of the service delivery under the previous ownership.

The features of Rosedale, as depicted by past customer experiences, are unfortunately characterized by several significant negative attributes. A prominent feature was the alleged **deceptive practices and dishonesty**. Reviews explicitly use terms like "scam artist" and "total scam," citing instances of alleged theft of money and parts, and charging for incomplete or unperformed work. Another critical feature was the **poor quality of repairs**, where vehicles were returned with original issues unresolved (e.g., shaking car, transmission problems) or new problems introduced (e.g., broken sensors). The accusation that a transmission service wasn't fully done, merely appearing to be, indicates a profound lack of integrity in their workmanship. Furthermore, **terrible communication** was a consistently highlighted feature. Customers reported unreturned calls, being unable to reach staff during business hours, and even claims of "lost" phone numbers, leading to significant inconvenience and financial loss for customers (e.g., missed work). A complete disregard for customer property and well-being was also apparent, with allegations of theft and the shop being locked up with a customer's car inside before closing time. These features collectively paint a picture of a business operating with severe deficiencies in ethics, quality, and customer respect.

Given the highly negative nature of the provided reviews for Rosedale, any "promotional information" under its previous ownership would be directly contradicted by customer experiences. The most crucial piece of information for local users regarding this location is the notice of **"NOW UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP AS UNIQUE TIRE AND AUTO REPAIR."** This change of ownership is paramount, as the severe criticisms levied against "Rosedale" pertain to its former management and practices. While the phone numbers (248) 548-3926 and +1 248-548-3926 are listed, potential customers considering the current "Unique Tire and Auto Repair" at this address should be aware of the historical issues. For any new business, particularly one taking over a location with such a problematic past, building a new reputation based on transparency, honest work, and excellent customer service will be critical. Without new, positive reviews for "Unique Tire and Auto Repair," it is impossible to objectively present their current promotional efforts or features beyond the change in name and ownership. Therefore, based solely on the provided data for "Rosedale," the dominant "promotional" message for local users is one of extreme caution and an urgent need to verify the current business's practices.

Brought my Jetta here for a basic transmission service...just fluid change, filter replacement and pan replacement was quoted 270. Get a call two days later saying that it needed 769 dollars worth of work! . So I told the owner if they install my drive belt restrictor (simple 10 minute task) I would agree to the work, and the owner agreed. I get my car back a week later and it's still having transmission issues and....."I can't make this up" they stole all my change out of my center console(about 70 bucks worth of quarters). I take it back and tell the owner about the stolen money and service issue. I had to take it to another shop 😞 and was told that the transmission service wasn't done, just the pan replaced to "look" like it was done. Atop that the 44 dollars (belt restrictor) I purchased wasn't installed and they just stole my part. All in all I spent 770+44 dollars, the trans service at the shop I took it to was 520. Just stay away from this guy he's a scam artist in the first degree 😂

Total scam. Avoid at all costs. I took my car here because it was shaking while driving. They replaced the front wheel bearings. When I got the car back, though, the car was still shaking, and a bunch of the sensors were broken, including the speed sensor and the ABS sensor. They told me that the sensors must have broken while the car was on the lift. They wanted $400 to replace the things they broke. On top of that, these guys are awful communicators. I dropped my car off on a Saturday morning--they said they would call me before they closed because I needed my car to get to work on Monday. They never called me. I called them at 5PM because it says they close at 6PM, nobody answered. I walked to the shop instead, still before their listed closing time. Nobody is there, but I can see my car locked up inside. I had to use my girlfriend's car to get to work on Monday, which meant that she couldn't drive to her job (I make more), and she lost pay for that day. I call them Monday morning, and they tell me that they "lost" my phone number.

Ali was definitely a scam artist. This shop owes me $600 for a bad welding job on my catalytic converters. After they left my car out all night and someone cut them off!

Sent a car in for an AC problem. They took a decision to weld a clutch on an AC compressor together, which subsequently caused a failure in the AC control module. No call to me beforehand. The clutch is a clutch for a reason. You can't just make an AC compressor work every second the vehicle is running, whether you want AC or not. This place used to be called Optimum. The new owners are not Optimum, to say the least. Look at the parking lot of this place. They're trying to sell used cars. Very few actual customers. My advice: go down the street to Save on Tire. They have a master mechanic and an honest owner. It will save you money and aggravation.

They charged me 600 to replace brake pad and rotors with calibers. Stayed there for hours trying to figure out why my van would not stop. It was not building any type of brake pressure. Turn out mechanic put the calibers on backwards folks. Now I'm spending additional money to fix. Almost a 1000 brake job for just the rear. I am highly upset.
