Pro Tech Car Care Introduce
Pro Tech Car Care, situated at 26400 Grand River Ave, Redford Township, MI 48240, USA, functions as an "Auto Repair Station" providing various services and goods for sale to local users in Redford Township and the surrounding areas. As an auto repair facility, its primary role is to diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicles, ensuring their safe and efficient operation. While the name suggests a focus on providing professional technical care for vehicles, an objective introduction must incorporate the full spectrum of customer experiences to provide a balanced overview for potential clients.
The environment at Pro Tech Car Care, typical of many independent auto repair shops, would likely include a reception area for customer intake and a garage area with multiple bays for vehicle servicing. Located on Grand River Ave, a primary thoroughfare, the facility would be reasonably accessible to vehicle owners. The physical space is designed for the practical execution of automotive repairs, with tools, diagnostic equipment, and vehicle lifts. While cleanliness and organization are generally desired in such establishments, the primary focus is on the technical work. Customer interactions would typically occur at a front desk. Some reviews mention that the staff can be "very busy," which might imply a bustling environment. One positive review specifically highlights "Nazi" as being "amazing" and notes "every staff member was hard at work," which could contribute to a perception of a diligent and active service environment.
Pro Tech Car Care offers a range of automotive repair and maintenance services. Based on customer feedback, their services include:
- Transmission Replacement: They undertake significant repairs such as replacing entire transmissions, often with used units that come with a warranty.
- Radiator Repair/Replacement: Addressing cooling system issues, including leaks and other malfunctions.
- AC Repair: Diagnosing and fixing air conditioning system problems to restore climate control functionality.
- Engine Diagnostics and Repair: As evidenced by the mention of a catalytic converter issue, they perform diagnostic tests to identify underlying problems and conduct necessary engine-related repairs.
- General Maintenance: While not explicitly detailed, given their range of repairs, it's reasonable to infer they also perform standard maintenance such as oil changes (one reviewer mentions they "wouldn’t even recommend them for an oil change," indicating it's a service offered).
As an auto repair station, they would also source and "sell" the necessary auto parts to complete these repairs, whether new or used, and provide the labor for installation. The mention of warranties on repairs, such as a "3 year warranty" on a transmission replacement, suggests they stand by their work for a specified period, a crucial aspect of their service offering.
The features of Pro Tech Car Care, based on customer experiences, are quite varied. On the positive side, one strong feature highlighted by a returning customer is their core values and customer service under new management, specifically praising "Nazi" and emphasizing that the shop "is not the type of place to try and take your money." This reviewer found them to be "honest" and communicative, ensuring the customer "understand" what's wrong. The designation of being a "WOMAN FRIENDLY SHOP!" is a significant and positive feature, suggesting an environment where all customers feel respected and valued, often a crucial consideration for female car owners.
However, other customer experiences point to significant negative features. A detailed review describes issues with recurring problems post-repair, specifically persistent transmission shaking after replacement, and new issues like rattling noises and non-functional AC appearing after subsequent repairs. This indicates potential inconsistencies in the thoroughness of repairs or post-repair quality checks. A major concern highlighted is the lack of proactive communication, with the customer needing to initiate calls to receive status updates during extended repair periods. This suggests a deficiency in customer service regarding transparency and timely information sharing. Furthermore, serious allegations of "fraudulent activities" by a brother involved in the business and a disputed "fraudulent charge to my bank from an auto parts vendor" raise severe concerns about integrity and trustworthiness, which are critical features for any auto repair establishment. The customer's experience with multiple failed parts and lengthy repair times, leading to significant additional expenses for rental cars, indicates issues with diagnostic accuracy and potentially parts quality or installation. These contrasting features present a complex picture of Pro Tech Car Care, suggesting that while some customers experience excellent service, others face significant challenges.
Regarding promotional information, specific current offers or deals for Pro Tech Car Care are not provided in the given details. However, like most auto repair stations, they would typically utilize various methods to attract and retain customers. Based on the provided information, potential promotional strategies might include:
- Warranties on Repairs: Offering warranties, such as the "3 year warranty" on transmission replacements, serves as a significant promotional tool, providing customers with peace of mind.
- "Woman Friendly Shop" Emphasis: Actively promoting this aspect to attract a broader and more diverse customer base, highlighting their commitment to an inclusive and respectful service environment.
- Affordable Pricing (as per one review): Emphasizing fair and transparent pricing to counter perceptions of dishonesty often associated with auto repair.
- Online Presence: Maintaining a website or social media profiles where they can list their services, contact information, and potentially offer online booking or digital coupons.
- Seasonal Maintenance Specials: Offering discounts on common services like oil changes, brake inspections, or AC checks during specific times of the year.
For local users in Redford Township, MI, considering Pro Tech Car Care for their vehicle repair needs, it is advisable to contact them directly at (313) 543-3232 or +1 313-543-3232 to discuss their specific automotive issues and inquire about any current promotions. Given the mixed nature of the reviews, potential customers might want to seek a detailed explanation of the diagnostic process, get a written estimate, and clarify communication protocols before proceeding with extensive repairs.

Pro Tech Car Care Customer Reviews
Where do I start? I took my vehicle to this place back in December of 2024 after my transmission went bad. The owner said that they’d be able to replace it with a used transmission and provide me a 3 year warranty. After getting my vehicle back about a week later, I started experiencing issues the very next day with the transmission replacement shaking intermittently while accelerating. I took my vehicle back and they added more transmission fluid and suggested I give the replacement more time to settle in. My radiator started leaking in February of 2025 and I brought it back to them to fix, which they did within a few days. After getting my vehicle back, not only was I still experiencing the intermittent shaking of the transmission while accelerating, but now I was hearing a rattling noise coming from the hood while idle and in motion; not to mention my AC no longer worked. So, I decided to take the vehicle back for them to address the new issues resulting from the radiator replacement as well as the shaking from the transmission replacement that hadn’t settled in. Keep in mind I had a warranty for each repair. I called them a week later and they told me they fixed the AC and rattling noise, but said they needed to remove their transmission replacement and send it back to who they purchased it from so they could inspect it and send them another one. I called again after waiting a second week and they said the second transmission was on its way to their shop and it would only take a day to install. A third week went by and I called the shop again only to find out that the second transmission wouldn’t shift gears after they installed it. So, they ended up having to send that one back to be inspected in order to receive a third one from the vendor. I finally got my car back after almost a month of waiting and spending roughly $2,000 on rental car fees. And the only time the gentleman working the front desk called me was to pick up my vehicle. It took for me to call the shop to find out these new developments during the entire month my car was in their possession. They couldn’t grant me the common courtesy of calling to provide me status throughout the process and never gave me definitive answers whenever I did call to get status. You’d think my vehicle would be fine after all of this, but I started hearing a loud noise coming from under the hood within a few hours of leaving the shop. I took it back, they ran a diagnostic test, and told me it was the catalytic converter. Something felt shady about this. I read another customer say in her review that the owner told her that his brother was engaging in fraudulent activities and failing to properly document work in the system. This makes sense because I had to dispute a fraudulent charge to my bank from an auto parts vendor in March of 2025. The other customer posted her review the first week of April of 2025. I’m not saying for certain that the shop used my debit card info to purchase parts, but I wouldn’t put it past them based on the shady vibe I got from them on top of the bad reviews they’ve gotten since the new owners took over. That’ll be my last time getting my vehicle serviced with them after all of the time and money I’ve wasted. I wouldn’t even recommend them for an oil change.

I am happy to say that even though this place is under new management their core values and customer service is still intact. Nazi is amazing. Every staff member was hard at work and they were very busy. I appreciate feeling valued. This shop is not the type of place to try and take your money. They are honest and tell you exactly what’s wrong and will make sure you understand. A WOMAN FRIENDLY SHOP!

I recommend avoiding this shop, as the owner, Jay, revealed to me that his brother has been engaging in fraudulent activities and neglecting to properly document work done in the system. As a customer, I have no connection to these internal issues, but I was sharing my own complaints when another customer arrived with the same problem. She allegedly had an outstanding balance, despite having paid in cash, which was not reflected in the system due to the brother's alleged theft. Consequently, he refused to release her vehicle; she claimed her car was fixed twice thereafter and she was unaware of a balance, having paid cash that was not recorded.

Went in and requested a particular fix for an issue. Continuously went back after repairing everything they said was the problem, and we are talking thousands here, and yet the original issue STILL remained. After MONTHS of being told to fix this, fix that, blah blah blah, I finally wised up and took it to two other shops for opinions, and it turns out the original thing I had requested wasnt even looked at or they would have seen the issue. It took the two other shops 20 minutes tops to find the problem and fix it. Also. Everything was hooked up wrong or not hooked up at all. The EVAP system, the AC, etc. I am highly considering legal action here, as the other shops took detailed notes of everything that was incorrect or not done or totally unnecessary. Do not let them take advantage of your lack of knowledge and talk you into unnecessary repairs or youll be out thousands of dollars and still have the original issue you went in for.

I took my car in because my check engine light was on and when I took my vehicle in, they told me that I needed a tuneup and a brake booster. Then it became more that needed to be done to the car that they did not give me a quote on so they said that they would handle it. My car would be done in two days. My car was not ready for me to pick up for over a week and a half when I picked my vehicle up my vehicle showed a wrench light that I have never seen before so I took my car back sat in their facility for 2 1/2 hours waiting for my car to be looked at they brought the car back to me and told me that I was fine. I got a blocked down the road and the light came back on again so I went back so they said oh we fixed it. They looked at it again we fixed it just start the car up a couple times turn it on turn it off. Let’s see turn it on turned it off. No light got a mile down the road. The light came back on by that time. The facility was closed so I called them the next morning. they told me that I needed to have my Transmission looked at so I took my car down to a transmission shop in Farmington Hills. The guy looked at my vehicle said it was absolutely not my transmission. My transmission is perfectly fine. He goes. Let me do a diagnostic on it. He did the diagnostic on it and it was the AMB brakes That needed to be fixed. It was a and B that needed to be plugged in so I took my car up there at this time. The guy knew exactly what I was talking about when I told him what come up on the diagnostic so they fix that OK so then I get my car I go to go to work. The part that they had changed on my vehicle was the brake line. The brake line was a used brake line. It was not a new one. They did not inform me. They were putting used parts on my vehicle. All of a sudden I had a massive brake fluid leak. Could not drive my car I was at work Doing my deliveries. I had to find an AutoZone to get a bottle of brake fluid just to get my self home safe at this time I have no brakes whatsoever so the next morning I called them they came with a tow truck for the third time having my vehicle They had to fix the brake line. They did that by that time when I got my car back my car run like shit. My car is loud. It has a loud ticking noise. It is hesitant when you give it acceleration like it’s not getting enough oxygen to the motor so I took my car to another mechanic shop. I have that in video That he had to attach six different parts on my car that these people did not plug-in so my car was not running correctly then then the mechanic come to find out there is a hose missing that goes to the master cylinder that they took off and never put back on so I went to the shop asked them for this part. They refused to even look for it. Nick was too busy sweeping the floor on top of the fact not to mention I had to get the Redford police department involved because I had made numerous phone calls to them and they would put me on hold and not answer and we’re very rude to me so if you’re looking for an auto mechanic shop to take care of your car, I do not suggest this auto mechanic shop. This is owned by twins auto I was not informed of that. I had personally been to the shop many times with the previous owner, I was told that it was their nephew that bought the facility, but when I found out that it was twins Auto, after allowing them to fix my vehicle, which obviously my vehicle is not fixed, they lie they cheat. They do not put new parts on your vehicle. They go to the junkyard to get parts if they even do replace the parts like I said, my booster is not replaced, which I was charged for my A B for my brakes. Still shows up on diagnostic I paid them in full for a fixed running safe Vehicle. During the time when they first had my car, I called them multiple times because wondering where my car was because this is a four hour procedure not a week procedure. I was also told that my car was not even at their shop. They never even asked me if it was OK for my vehicle to be transferred to another shop. This place is not Professional at all.
