Precision of New Hampton Introduce

Welcome to Precision of New Hampton, situated at 515 Bailey Ave, New Hampton, IA 50659, USA. While categorized under Auto Repair Stations, Precision of New Hampton primarily focuses on the manufacturing and distribution of specialized automotive components, particularly transmission converters and transmission and transfer case rebuild kits. You can reach them at their toll-free number (800) 654-1220 or their mobile number +1 800-654-1220.

Based on customer feedback available online, Precision of New Hampton has garnered a reputation for producing high-quality products, specifically transmission converters. One long-term customer, operating two high-volume transmission shops for over a decade, has used Precision converters almost exclusively. They highlight the company's innovation, reliability, and consistent customer service, noting that while other vendors may offer lower prices, their quality does not compare to that of Precision. This speaks volumes about the durability and performance of Precision's offerings, suggesting that professionals in the transmission repair industry trust their products for demanding applications.

However, another customer shared a contrasting experience regarding customer service related to direct sales of smaller quantities. This individual, who had previously purchased a limited number of converters and rebuild kits for their non-full-time transmission work, encountered an issue when attempting to place a new order. They were initially asked to renew their credit card agreement, which they were willing to do. However, the CEO of the company reportedly intervened, refusing the sale based on the rationale that selling single units was not profitable and expressing concern about installation by a "non professional" without "proper equipment."

The customer found this interaction insulting, particularly the assumption of a lack of professionalism and proper equipment, especially since the converter was intended for a shop account. They also pointed out their history of purchases without any warranty claims. In response, the CEO reportedly emphasized the necessity of a "hot flusher" for almost every rebuild job (a product Precision conveniently sells), implying that the technician's skill level was secondary. The customer, who did not own a hot flusher but had previously taken measures like replacing trans cooler lines, the trans cooler, and the radiator to prevent contamination, felt that their past positive interactions with the company, including discussions about potentially purchasing a hot flusher in the future, were disregarded.

This review, while acknowledging the quality of Precision's products, raises concerns about their direct sales policy for smaller-scale buyers and the assumptions made about their customers' professionalism and equipment. It suggests a potential shift in focus towards larger volume clients, which might leave smaller repair shops or individual mechanics feeling less valued.

Considering the available information, Precision of New Hampton appears to be a manufacturer specializing in high-quality transmission converters and potentially other transmission-related components like rebuild kits for transmissions and transfer cases. Their products are praised for their innovation and reliability by established transmission shops. This suggests a focus on the quality and performance of their manufactured goods within the automotive aftermarket.

Details regarding the physical environment of Precision of New Hampton are not provided in the reviews. However, as a manufacturing and distribution center, it likely operates with facilities geared towards the production, storage, and shipping of automotive parts. The emphasis on product quality and the long-standing relationship with a high-volume transmission shop indicate a professional and potentially well-equipped operation behind the scenes.

In terms of features, Precision of New Hampton's primary strength appears to be the quality and reliability of their transmission converters. The innovation mentioned by a long-term customer suggests that they invest in research and development to offer advanced and dependable products. Their focus on rebuild kits also indicates a commitment to providing comprehensive solutions for transmission repair professionals.

The conflicting customer service experience highlights a potential area for consideration for Precision of New Hampton. While their products are highly regarded, their direct sales policies and the way they interact with smaller or infrequent buyers might impact their overall reputation within the broader auto repair community.

No specific promotional information is available in the provided text. However, the positive testimonial from the long-term customer serves as an implicit endorsement of the quality and value of their transmission converters for professional use. For local users, particularly established transmission repair shops in the New Hampton area and beyond, Precision of New Hampton presents itself as a reliable source for high-quality transmission components.

In conclusion, Precision of New Hampton specializes in the production of high-quality transmission converters and related rebuild components. They have a strong reputation among high-volume transmission shops for their innovative and reliable products, coupled with consistent customer service for their regular business clients. However, potential customers who are not high-volume buyers may experience different direct sales policies and interactions, as indicated by one of the provided reviews. Local auto repair professionals seeking top-tier transmission components should consider Precision of New Hampton for their product quality, but it may be beneficial to inquire about their specific sales terms and conditions for their business size and volume needs.

Precision of New Hampton Customer Reviews

I have used Precision converters almost exclusively at my 2 high volume transmission shops for over 10 years. Many vendors have tried to get our business but do not have the innovation, reliability or customer service Precision gives every day. Many are less expensive but the quality is not even close.

They have a great product. I had used them in rebuilds and installs. I was not a full time transmission shop, and didn't do hundreds. I had bought maybe 6-12 converters and probably an equal amount of trans and transfer case rebuild kits. I hadn't done any in a while, and went to order one. Customer service said I needed to renew my CC agreement, no problem. Filled it out and the CEO of the company stepped in saying do not sell to me. When I asked why, he stated they lose money selling them one at a time, and, most importantly "the installation is by a non professional who does not have the proper equipment to do the job correctly". I'm not sure why he assumed I was not a professional, but he sure did. Then I told him it was slightly insulting he assumes I don't know what I'm doing, and that this converter was for a customer (shop account) anyway. I also asked him to look at my sales history and tell me when I had ever filed a warranty claim...to my knowledge, I never have. He responded by saying "almost every rebuild job requires a hot flusher", a product they conveniently sell, and it doesn't matter how good the technician is. I don't have one, I'll admit, but again, he assumed I didn't. When I was doing more transmissions, I was actually in talks with Angie at PNH about purchasing one, but didn't get to that volume so I would replace trans cooler lines, trans cooler, and radiator to ensure no foreign metal would return to the rebuild transmission. I told him as much. Great products, sure. This just really seemed like an awful, unnecessary thing to do to a customer who had never been an issue. I guess when you get big enough, the little guy doesn't matter anymore. I sent the customer elsewhere.

I don't believe there is anyone that provides reman torque converters that is doing it better than this group. Once and done and competitively priced.

What a fantastic bunch of people!! I had a problem with my torque converter. Not only did they fix my issue(s) I was treated to a guided tour of the business and it’s operations. The employees who I interacted with was very helpful, friendly and seems happy to be to part of an amazing place. This place is so busy with multi Million dollar contracts… I felt special these people took time to fix my 1 torque converter and gave me some good training. I can’t say enough good things about these people. They took very good care of me. If you have any doubts or concerns about using Precision for your needs, let my put your concerns to rest. You will be in good hands. Also tell them Tim from Indiana set ya.
