Pineda's Tire Shop Introduce

Located at 2501 E 22nd St, Tucson, AZ 85713, USA, Pineda's Tire Shop operates within the Auto Repair Stations category, primarily focusing on tire sales and related services for local vehicle owners. This establishment, contactable at (520) 358-5614 or +1 520-358-5614, serves as a point of interest for those seeking tire solutions in the Tucson area.

Environment and Accessibility

Pineda's Tire Shop is situated on a prominent street, E 22nd St, which is a significant thoroughfare in Tucson. Its location is often noted by locals who "drive by four or five times a week," suggesting high visibility and accessibility. While a detailed description of the physical environment, such as the waiting area or the size of the facility, is not extensively available, the anecdotal evidence from a customer indicates it's a bustling shop that can be "fairly busy." This implies a no-frills, practical setup focused on efficient service, typical of many local tire shops. The fact that it's located "only 2 miles from my house" for one customer further emphasizes its convenient position for those residing in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Services Offered

As an "Auto Repair Station" specializing in tires, Pineda's Tire Shop primarily offers services related to vehicle wheels and tires. Based on customer interactions, their core services include:

  • Tire Repair: A common service, as exemplified by the customer who needed a non-holding tire fixed. This includes diagnosing issues such as leaks and performing repairs like valve stem replacement.
  • Tire Sales: While the type of tires sold isn't explicitly detailed (new vs. used), a customer mentions buying "2 used tires for my truck" and another refers to "their $60 tires," suggesting that used tires are a significant part of their inventory and business model.
  • Tire Mounting and Installation: The process of taking off an old tire and mounting a new or repaired one onto the wheel, and then re-mounting the wheel onto the vehicle, is a standard service they provide.
  • Wheel Balancing: While not explicitly stated in the provided reviews, balancing is a crucial part of tire installation and repair to ensure smooth driving, and it's a standard offering at most tire shops.
  • General Tire Check and Advice: The shop appears to offer quick assessments of tire issues, as seen when a customer presented a tire that wouldn't hold air and was met with immediate assistance.

The immediate and hands-on approach described by a customer, where a staff member quickly met them at the "shop roll-up door" and addressed the issue directly, points to a service model that prioritizes quick turnaround and direct interaction. This can be particularly appealing to individuals who need urgent tire assistance without extensive waiting or bureaucratic processes.

Features and Customer Experience

The customer experience at Pineda's Tire Shop appears to be varied, presenting a dual narrative of both efficiency and concerns regarding product quality. Some key features highlighted by customer experiences include:

  • Quick Service: One positive experience notes that a tire issue was resolved "Less than 20 minutes later," indicating a capacity for rapid service, even when "fairly busy." This efficiency is a significant advantage for customers who are in a hurry or facing immediate tire problems.
  • Direct and Approachable Staff: The description of a "young burly curly-haired guy" who "almost immediately" offered assistance at the door suggests a direct and welcoming approach from staff members. This level of personal engagement can make customers feel valued and attended to.
  • Affordable Pricing: The $15 charge for a valve stem replacement, which was considered fair by the customer, points to competitive and accessible pricing for basic tire services. The mention of "$60 tires" also indicates an affordability factor, particularly for used tires.

However, it is crucial to acknowledge a significant concern raised by another customer, which presents a stark contrast to the positive experience. This review alleges serious issues regarding the safety and quality of tires sold:

  • Concerns about Tire Safety and Quality: One customer claims that "their tires are not safe" and accuses the shop of being "SCAMMERS" by "shave the inner side of the tire so you will have blowouts and other issues." This serious accusation, stemming from a near-fatal incident involving a tire purchased from the shop, highlights a critical area of concern. The customer specifically mentions that the "$60 tires are the 'best'" but led to a dangerous situation.
  • Lack of Transparency: The accusation of tires being "covered in oil and water" to "hide the condition and dryness of the tires" points to a potential lack of transparency regarding the quality of used tires being sold.
  • Inconsistent Service Time: While one customer praised quick service, another mentioned it took "2 hours to change them" for two tires, despite the shop not being full. This suggests potential inconsistencies in service speed.

These contrasting reviews indicate that while some customers have experienced prompt and affordable service for minor repairs, there are serious allegations regarding the safety and integrity of the products sold, particularly used tires. For a local auto repair station, especially one dealing with critical safety components like tires, consistency in quality and adherence to safety standards are paramount.

Promotional Information

Based on the provided information, Pineda's Tire Shop does not explicitly list ongoing promotions or specific advertising campaigns beyond its basic contact details and address. However, the positive customer testimonial itself serves as a form of organic promotion, highlighting the shop's convenience, quick service, and affordability for specific tire repair needs. The phrase "Good local shop. I’ll take them work any time" acts as a strong endorsement from a satisfied customer. Conversely, the highly negative review, while not promotional, serves as a significant cautionary note that potential customers would likely encounter and consider.

In the absence of formal promotional statements, the shop's reputation is heavily influenced by word-of-mouth and online reviews, which offer a mixed perspective. For potential customers, the decision to use Pineda's Tire Shop would likely weigh the convenience and perceived affordability against the serious safety concerns raised by at least one individual. This dual feedback underscores the importance for customers to exercise due diligence and potentially seek further clarification or inspection when purchasing used tires, regardless of the vendor.

Pineda's Tire Shop Customer Reviews

My clean, beloved, low-mileage 2000 4Runner has 10-year-old BF Goodrich All-Terrains on it, which have maybe 15000 miles on them and have been garaged out of the sun. One wouldn't hold air. I took it to Furrier's (where I usually buy my tires) one Saturday afternoon and predictably they wouldn't touch it. Then I remembered the Pineda’s shop at 22nd & Tucson Blvd, which I drive by four or five times a week on my way to work, only 2 miles from my house, so I drove it there that same afternoon. It was great. They were fairly busy, but almost immediately a young burly curly-haired guy met me at the shop roll-up door and asked if he could help me. I told him what was up and said that I could leave the wheel with them and come back later, but he said he’d take care of it right then. I rolled the wheel over and he went to work. He showed me in the dunk tank that the issue was the valve stem. Less than 20 minutes later he had the stem replaced and the tire mounted on the truck, while I put the spare back underneath. He said 15 bucks, so I gave him 20 and enjoyed the rest of my Saturday with that off my back. Good local shop. I’ll take them work any time.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This is the most horrible tire shop in To Tucson they were Robbie of your money and their tires are not safe. They shave the inner side of the tire so you will have blowouts and other issues so you can go back and get a new one from them. SCAMMERS. Will definitely not be coming back because I almost lost my life from a tire that they gave me that I paid $60 for. Keep in mind they’re $60 tires are the “best.”

I had a good experience with them I bought two used tires for $90, installation included, they even check the air on the front tires as well. There is no space to wait around but the service was fast so it was ok.

I got to the one on 1st ave. This one has a bad rep for ripping off customers. I was told mounted and balance 45 bucks because 1st ave didn't have it. When I arrived at this shop on 22nd I asked as well 45 mounted and balance. Then when the tire was on they tried to hussle me for another 10 bucks then 5 bucks I told them ya no just because I'm white doesn't mean I have to pay more I'm not that stupid. If u wanna get ripped off come to this place .
