Norwood's Discount Muffler & Brake

I was referred to Norwood’s Discount Muffler and Brake Shop due to a large hole in my exhaust pipe in my 2012 Toyota Camry SE. Several other places quoted me between $500 and $800 for the repair. When I called Norwood’s, they advised me to bring my car in for an assessment. Upon arrival, I learned they operate on a first-come, first-served basis, which was fine with me. After inspecting my vehicle, they informed me they could complete the repair for less than the previously quoted prices and estimated the work would take about two hours. That was music to my ears! No more loud motorcycle-like sounds every time I exceeded 25 mph. In the end, I received a brand-new exhaust pipe at a great price, the wait time was reasonable, and I’m thrilled to drive in peace again. Thank you, Norwood’s Discount Muffler and Brake Shop—I couldn’t be happier!

This place use to be great, low price, affordable and good work. Lately it's gone down big time. Shabby work by guys that don't seem like they know what they are doing. Had to take my car back multiple time for them to get my brakes right.All and all I won't be taking my car there ever again, I would rather pay more and have it done right the first time than to pay less and have to come back!!

This place has really gone downhill. Noticeably. Woman over the phone has terrible customer service. asks me to wait, I wait, no problem-she then jumps back on line tells me to bring car in and hangs up.

2023 Update: Not what it used to be. Trust me on this. I write a lot of reviews. I am a considered a local guide by Google. The original owner no longer runs it and things have changed. Deceitful practices and the woman at the front desk does not articulate herself like a business woman. By that I mean, physically yelling in childish like attacks instead of having professional dialog with patrons who question their integrity. I experienced this first hand and watched and recorded another patron's experience as well. Beware of the new generation running this. #TiaTriedIt They have high ratings for a reason! This place came highly recommended. Very straight forward, fair, no frills, no gimmicks, mom and pops kinda shop. Prices are more than fair and they are polite and friendly! Things to note: - Muffler and brakes ONLY serviced here. - Most complete brake jobs are around $250 for front OR rear. These really are the best prices in town! - They DO NOT take appts. First come, first served (as long as they have the parts in. stock you will be in and out if you arrive early). They are pretty quick and thorough. -Not open on the weekends, M-F only. They open at 9am. - Small waiting area, chairs are not that comfortable (but hopefully you won't be sitting too long). Small TV is usually. on. - $5 fee to use a Credit Card. Bring cash to maximize your savings. They do have signs posted so you know this BEFORE paying. - They stand behind their work. Keep your pink receipt! - The owner Norwood actually works there too! - Free Estimates! - All prices include parts and labor. - Don't bother with inquiring via the website. Honest mechanic shop, there’s a new guy working there that’s super friendly. Tipped bro 50$ just because you can’t get that kinda service anywhere else

I absolutely DO NOT recommend this shoo. I look my truck in because the drivers side exhaust pipe detach d from the X pipe. The owner told me two pieces were needed at 70.00 a piece to reconnect it. My truck sounded horrible. I took it to the mechanic that did the muffler delete and found out the owner removed the X pipe and added two straight pipes. Now I have to pay for it to be fixed correctly. The owner literally told me he didn’t have an X pipe in stick so he put straight pipes. He didn’t advise or consult me just did it. Just shady! He now wants to go under my vehicle to remove those 3.00 pipes in order to return my money. Pure trash! This place is a joke but the joke is the n him because I’m just getting started.

Receptionist with black hair could use some tuning and in customer service. She gets frustrated fairly easy, her daughter instigates the situation. Going as far as calling me an animal for calling her mother out for her lack of customer service. My family sent me here for exhaust system repairs. The stars are for the mechanics the review is for the one of receptionist I will never be back and I’ll never recommend them to anyone friend or foe.
