Mc Lamb's Auto Salvage Introduce
For individuals and auto repair professionals in Fayetteville, NC, seeking parts for their vehicles, Mc Lamb's Auto Salvage at 315 Pelt Dr, Fayetteville, NC 28301, USA, serves as a key resource within the broader "Auto Repair Stations" category. While primarily a salvage yard and auto parts provider, its function is integral to the repair ecosystem, offering components that can be crucial for various automotive services.
You can reach Mc Lamb's Auto Salvage at (910) 488-5255 or via mobile at +1 910-488-5255. Its location on Pelt Drive provides a dedicated space for its operations as a salvage and parts supplier.
The customer experience at Mc Lamb's Auto Salvage appears to be quite polarized, based on the provided reviews. One customer had a "Fantastic experience," describing it as "In and out," with "People are great, place is clean." This suggests that for some, the facility offers efficient service and a satisfactory environment, particularly when they find the parts they need without hassle.
However, another review highlights significant concerns regarding customer service. This customer found the customer service "weird" and described interactions with "whoever the old man is at front desk" as "rude," stating, "I don't know of anybody I've ever met in my whole life that's as rude as this man." This led to a firm decision to "never go back there again," despite acknowledging that the business "have a lot of parts." This discrepancy suggests that while the physical environment and inventory might be beneficial for some, the interpersonal customer service can be a significant deterrent for others.
For an establishment operating within the automotive parts and repair sphere, the quality of interaction at the front desk is crucial, as it often forms the first and last impression. Prospective customers should be prepared for potentially inconsistent service attitudes, weighing the benefit of parts availability against the reported customer service issues.
As Mc Lamb's Auto Salvage operates within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, its primary offering is the provision of new and, more prominently, used auto parts. Salvage yards play a vital role in the automotive industry by recycling usable components from damaged or end-of-life vehicles. This provides an economical alternative to purchasing brand-new parts, which can be particularly beneficial for older models or for budget-conscious repairs.
Based on the review, a key offering is "body parts that are already painted," which can be a significant advantage. Finding pre-painted body panels that match a vehicle's existing color can save customers substantial time and money on paintwork, which is often a costly part of collision repair. This specific mention suggests they might specialize or have a strong inventory in cosmetic components.
Beyond body parts, a typical auto salvage operation like Mc Lamb's would offer a wide array of used components, including:
Engine Components: Including full engines, cylinder heads, alternators, starters, fuel pumps, and other accessories.
Transmission Systems: Complete transmissions or individual components.
Suspension and Steering Parts: Such as control arms, struts, shocks, power steering pumps, and steering racks.
Interior Components: Seats, dashboards, door panels, and electronic modules.
Lighting: Headlights, taillights, and fog lights.
Glass: Windshields, door glass, and rear windows.
Tires and Wheels: Used tires and rims.
While the business name implies "salvage," some such facilities may also offer a limited selection of new aftermarket parts, or facilitate ordering them, though the core focus is generally on used, recycled components. The term "Auto Repair Stations" in the platform category suggests that while their direct service might be selling parts, they support the wider repair industry by supplying these essential components.
The primary features of Mc Lamb's Auto Salvage, as gleaned from the customer feedback, are:
Extensive Parts Inventory: One customer noted, "they have a lot of parts," indicating a significant stock of components. This is crucial for a salvage yard, as the ability to find the specific part needed is paramount.
Availability of Hard-to-Find Items: The mention of "body parts that are already painted etc that you sometimes can't find at local pick and pull" suggests that Mc Lamb's may offer specialized or pre-processed parts that are not easily sourced from self-service salvage yards. This adds considerable value for customers seeking convenience and specific aesthetic matches.
Reasonable Pricing (for some items): While one reviewer found prices "kinda high," another stated, "PRICE is reasonable for body parts that are already painted." This suggests that pricing might vary depending on the rarity, condition, or type of part, and that some items offer good value.
Efficiency for Specific Needs: The "In and out" experience highlights that for customers who know what they need and the part is readily available, the process can be very quick.
However, a significant feature that customers must consider is the inconsistent customer service. The reported "rude" interactions can undermine the positive aspects of parts availability and pricing. For a business, cultivating a welcoming and respectful environment is as important as having a good product. This feedback suggests a potential area for improvement in customer interaction at the front desk. Potential buyers should be aware of this and approach their visit with an understanding that the customer service experience may vary.
Given the nature of an auto salvage business, direct promotional information, like traditional advertisements for sales or discounts, might not be as prevalent as for new car dealerships or chain repair shops. However, their primary "promotion" is the availability of parts, particularly specialized or pre-painted body components, at competitive or reasonable prices. The ability to find a specific part that is either difficult to source new or expensive to paint is a significant draw.
Customers seeking specific parts are encouraged to call ahead using the provided phone numbers, (910) 488-5255 or +1 910-488-5255, to inquire about the availability, condition, and pricing of the parts they need. This pre-call is a common practice for salvage yards, as inventory constantly changes based on incoming vehicles. While not a direct promotion, offering accurate and timely information over the phone can be a significant service benefit. Word-of-mouth, both positive and negative, also serves as a strong form of promotion (or anti-promotion) for such businesses, as seen in the reviews. The positive feedback about finding specific painted body parts and a swift experience acts as an endorsement for those particular needs.

The customer service for me was weird, after reading reviews I see it wasn't just me, I don't know of anybody I've ever met in my whole life that's as rude as who ever the old man is at front desk? its sad because they have a lot of parts and the price is kinda high but if you're spending your hard earned money to a business and they treat you and talk to you as rude as this man, ill never go back there again, and that's the last dollar they get from me!

Let this place be your last option at best. Very rude and unprofessional. Buddy at the desk has attitude like you're bothering him when you're asking him for service.

Absolutely worst shopping experience of my entire life. Being it. Is scrap and a junk yard I assumed we could negotiate price, he told me to bring my used part that I was replacing and set it beside door. I went and got it and thought maybe Im getting a discount for that. I asked him if we could discuss price and I said I had called around and someone said for same price he offered i would have to wait 3 days for a new one. I needed one that day, he became absolute a hole and cussed me told me wasn't going to sell it ,and all other sorts of crazy. Never again .

Terrible service. Could hardly understand the man when we spoke on the phone and I misunderstood when he said to get there. He was very unhelpful and refused to give me service even though I got there 3/4 hr before they closed. Can't recommend them until they get a better person behind the desk.
