Manthey Salvage Introduce

For residents and businesses in Mauston, Wisconsin, seeking recycling services and potentially used auto parts, Manthey Salvage serves as a local resource. Located at N, 3584 Ll Townline Rd, Mauston, WI 53948, USA, this establishment, categorized under "Auto Repair Stations," primarily functions as a salvage yard with a clear emphasis on recycling, particularly for materials like aluminum cans. While the platform category suggests auto parts, the customer reviews provided strongly indicate its role as a recycling center.

Manthey Salvage's core business appears to be the collection and processing of recyclable materials. The customer reviews specifically mention bringing in "cans," both crushed and uncrushed, indicating a focus on metal recycling. Within the broader "Auto Repair Stations" category, a salvage yard typically offers used auto parts pulled from salvaged vehicles. Therefore, it is highly probable that in addition to recycling, Manthey Salvage also deals in used auto parts derived from vehicles they acquire for salvage. This dual function is common for salvage yards, providing an affordable alternative for car owners looking for replacement components.

Regarding the environment, a salvage yard like Manthey Salvage would typically feature a sprawling outdoor area for vehicle storage and material sorting, alongside a reception area for customers bringing in recyclables or inquiring about parts. The nature of a salvage operation means the environment might be utilitarian and focused on efficiency for material handling. Customer interactions, as described in the reviews, suggest that while there might be processes to follow, such as the assessment of recyclables, the staff, particularly Ann, are generally perceived as "good" and friendly. This indicates a manageable and reasonably accessible environment for those engaging in recycling activities.

The services offered by Manthey Salvage, based on the provided information, definitively include aluminum can recycling. Customers bring in bags of cans, and the salvage yard processes them for payment. The review detailing the deduction for liquid in a bag highlights a specific aspect of their recycling process, where cleanliness and material purity are factored into the payout. While not explicitly stated in the reviews, the "Auto Repair Stations" categorization and the nature of a "salvage" operation strongly imply that they also provide used auto parts sales. This would involve dismantling salvaged vehicles and making serviceable components available to the public. Such services would typically include identifying the required part, checking inventory, and potentially assisting with removal or providing access to the part. The extent of their parts inventory and specific vehicle types they salvage would vary and likely change over time based on incoming vehicles.

The distinguishing features of Manthey Salvage, as gleaned from customer feedback, are mixed but provide insight into their operations. One customer, while having a negative experience with a specific transaction ("deducted $10.00 for what little liquid was in the one bag"), points to a strict adherence to their recycling policies regarding material contamination. This highlights a feature of their business operations: a focus on maintaining quality standards for the recycled materials they accept, which can impact customer payouts. On the other hand, the positive review states, "I have had good experience with Manthey Salvage. Ann has always been good to me. I would reccomend them, as i have done in the past." This emphasizes a key positive feature: the friendliness and helpfulness of specific staff members, particularly Ann, who consistently provides good service. This personal touch and positive staff interaction are crucial for building customer loyalty and trust, especially in a business where pricing and material assessment can sometimes lead to disputes. The fact that a customer would "reccomend them, as i have done in the past" underscores a history of positive relationships and satisfaction with overall service, despite isolated incidents.

Regarding promotional information, Manthey Salvage, like many salvage and recycling operations, likely relies heavily on local reputation and word-of-mouth. Explicit promotional campaigns or special offers are not detailed in the provided information. However, the recurring theme of positive experiences with staff, like Ann, serves as a powerful organic promotion. A good reputation for fair dealing and friendly service, even if there are strict policies, can attract and retain customers. For local users, knowing that there's a nearby facility for recycling cans and potentially sourcing affordable used auto parts is itself a form of utility-based promotion. To inquire about specific recycling rates, accepted materials, or the availability of particular used auto parts, individuals would need to contact Manthey Salvage directly at (608) 847-2202. Their continued operation since the time of these reviews suggests a steady customer base, likely built on their fundamental services and overall positive interactions with a core group of employees.

In conclusion, Manthey Salvage in Mauston, WI, located at N, 3584 Ll Townline Rd, is primarily a salvage yard that offers recycling services for materials such as aluminum cans. While categorized under "Auto Repair Stations," it also likely provides used auto parts sales from salvaged vehicles. The environment is typical of a salvage operation, focused on material handling, with staff members like Ann contributing to a generally positive customer experience through their helpful and friendly demeanor. Key features include adherence to recycling material quality standards and strong customer service from individual staff members. Promotional efforts are likely driven by local reputation and word-of-mouth based on their established services and customer interactions, making them a relevant resource for recycling and used parts in the Mauston area.

Manthey Salvage Customer Reviews

I quit going there with my cans. Last time I went, there was a little liquid in the bottom of the bag from the cans. I can't remember how much I had but they deducted $10.00 for what little liquid was in the one bag which was probably amount to a quarter of a pop can full. Ended up with around $6.00 or $7.00 for what I had. I had 2 bags crushed and 5 bags that were not crushed.

Lady was very rude. Brought in bags of mixed pop cans and tin cans didn't know that they needed to be sorted, she was very rude about it when she ripped open the bags and saw they were mixed very unprofessional.

The lady is EXTREMELY hostile, pretty sure she’s a witch of some sort, the Vehicles are in disarray, I got kicked out for being in a “unauthorized area” that wasn’t marked clearly at all. Some people like to come for one thing and look around some after they pull the part. I’d rather drive an hour away for much better service and a friendlier atmosphere.
