Do not go here for service. My husband brought his car in for an oil change, and they called saying we needed $4000 worth of work. My husband agreed to one of the things that only cost a few hundred dollars, but they went ahead and did around $3,000 worth of unapproved work. My husband was able to stop them from doing the last part of the work when he called to see if the car was ready. We went to talk to the service manager, and he told us we needed to pay and that we were not going to come to a resolution. They said that we agreed to the work and needed to pay. We asked to hear the recordings of the phone calls, and they did not have them because they do not record outbound calls. They did not send us any electronic information about the repairs or written estimate and just wrote on the work order for the oil change that we authorized over the phone. If you do decide to get work done here, Make sure they provide you with written confirmation of work to be done prior to them starting it. They had our car almost 5 months while we tried to work this out with them. All the staff we talked with were not professional and quite rude. I highly recommend staying away from here. I have heard better things about Elmhurst Toyota.

We recently were in a jam where our car would not start at 7pm. We called Lombard Toyota, which was open until 8pm, and planned to have it towed there. The woman who answered was very nice and helpful. Somehow I got it started and drove straight to their Service Department. They gave us an appointment for 2:15pm the next day, but weren’t able to get to it, so they checked it the following afternoon. They found no issue, said it might have been a key fob problem, and charged the $185 troubleshooting fee. I also received a punch list of things to be addressed, so I said I would schedule a day to come back. Before leaving, I asked how to reset the maintenance message on the dash, which was likely for an oil change. The service manager asked “Did you have your oil changed here?" I said no, and then he rudely told me to, “Google it.” I was a bit stunned by his response. It should have been a simple answer, and I felt that even though I drive a Toyota and just had my car serviced there, he was punishing me for having the oil changed elsewhere. That interaction was enough for me to decide to take the punch list to another mechanic, where I’ll likely save money and get better customer service. Note, we have also been to the Toyota dealer in Oak Brook and they were totally professional. If you have the option, I’d recommend going there instead.

Service department told me a tire puncture that appears to me and others to be well within the safe to patch area was unpatchable. Got charged $250 for a $175 tire on a car with 500 miles on it. I do not have faith that they deal fairly with customers and cannot recommend their services.

Appointments don't matter or time estimates made by service don't matter. Service Desk said my hood latch was broken and cable snapped ? I went in back to look and was stuck open, dirty and jamed, screw driver to free stuck, and now not stuck open, assumed cable was snapped because service desk said so . My 3 other toyota tacomas bought brand new all have same issue, hood latch gets stuck open and has to be unstuck and cleaned/lubricanted, with no big deal. Asked to fix/replace i will pay or explain how to open hood with snapped cable, also when part is available how will they open the hood again, the uneducated service desk seemed to think the hood would fly open and cable/latch release was not important, none of that is true? I asked for manager or someone else to explain to me how to open again with snapped cable? and proceeded to tell me to not talk to service technicians and then called police on me last night, 10/29/24. No service manager reached out to me and most employees witnessed issues. Police arrived and eventually was able to pay for oil change and tire rotation over 160.00 BTW. Inspected my truck after given back, no issue with cable and hood latch sometimes sticks open, just gotta tap the latch shut and all works fine, just like other 3 tacomas purchased new over the years. The service desk needs training, and I have no faith with this toyota and management. Will look into who owns this toyota dealership. Truck is and was fine! Part if purchased over 500.00 Also coupon don't matter they add charges to make up difference. I bet this post will have a generic reply from management.
