Les Schwab Tire Center Introduce
Les Schwab Tire Center stands as a distinguished name within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, recognized not just for its extensive selection of tires but also for its commitment to comprehensive automotive care and unparalleled customer service. Founded in 1952, Les Schwab has built a reputation on a unique philosophy that prioritizes the customer experience, often going above and beyond typical tire shop offerings to provide a full suite of services aimed at vehicle safety and longevity.
The environment at a Les Schwab Tire Center is designed to be highly customer-centric and efficient. Upon arrival, customers are frequently greeted by staff members who are known for swiftly approaching vehicles, even before a customer fully exits their car. This immediate and proactive service sets a welcoming tone. The showrooms are typically clean, well-lit, and often include comfortable waiting areas, sometimes offering amenities like complimentary coffee and popcorn, contributing to a pleasant experience during service.
Beyond the customer-facing areas, the service bays at Les Schwab are configured for efficiency, allowing technicians to work quickly and effectively on multiple vehicles. The operational flow is streamlined to minimize customer waiting times, a hallmark of their service model. Many Les Schwab locations also demonstrate a commitment to environmental stewardship through practices such as lead-free wheel weights, extensive tire recycling programs, battery repurposing, and efforts to reduce copper in brake pads, reflecting a conscious effort to minimize their ecological footprint.
Les Schwab's service offerings extend significantly beyond just tire sales and installation, positioning them firmly within the "Auto Repair Stations" category by addressing a broad spectrum of vehicle needs. Their comprehensive suite of services aims to keep vehicles safe and performing optimally:
Tire Sales & Service: This is the cornerstone of Les Schwab's business. They offer a vast inventory of tires for cars, trucks, SUVs, and even commercial vehicles, covering various types like all-season, all-weather, winter/snow, performance, and all-terrain tires. Services include professional tire installation, balancing, rotations, and seasonal changeovers.
Free Tire Maintenance: A significant differentiating factor is Les Schwab's commitment to ongoing free tire services with every tire purchase. This includes free flat repairs (for repairable tires), free tire rotations, free rebalancing, and free air pressure checks for the life of the tires. This extends the value and longevity of a tire investment.
Wheel Alignment Services: Les Schwab provides professional wheel alignment services, crucial for even tire wear and proper vehicle handling. They often offer free visual alignment checks to help diagnose potential issues.
Brake Services: Les Schwab is equipped to inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicle brake systems. This includes brake pad replacement, rotor resurfacing or replacement, and fluid checks. Many locations offer a free brake check and consultation.
Battery Services: They offer free battery testing, charging, and replacement services. This includes checking the battery's health and inspecting the vehicle's charging system (alternator and starter).
Suspension Services: Les Schwab can inspect and service shocks, struts, and other suspension components, which are vital for vehicle stability, comfort, and handling. Free shock/strut/suspension checks are often available.
Other Vehicle Services: Depending on the location, services may also include wiper blade checks and replacement, and certain locations even offer oil changes. They also sell and install snow chains and offer services related to lifting, leveling, and lowering vehicles.
Free Pre-Trip Safety Check: A valuable complimentary service, this includes a visual inspection of tires, brakes, suspension, and battery, providing customers with peace of mind before a long journey.
Les Schwab's features emphasize building long-term customer relationships through exceptional value and trustworthiness:
America's Best Tire Warranty: This robust warranty is a cornerstone of Les Schwab's offering. It typically includes no-hassle road hazard protection with 100% replacement value for tires damaged beyond repair, and a 60-day satisfaction guarantee, allowing customers to exchange tires if not completely satisfied.
Highly Trained Staff: Les Schwab invests significantly in employee training, ensuring that staff are knowledgeable about products and proficient in service procedures. This commitment to expertise helps ensure accurate diagnoses and quality workmanship.
Customer Service Excellence: The company is renowned for its proactive and friendly customer service, often cited in customer reviews. The "run-out-to-greet-the-customer" approach is a tangible example of their service philosophy.
Community Involvement: Les Schwab actively participates in and supports the communities they serve, often through local sponsorships and initiatives, reinforcing their image as a trusted local business.
Broad Product Selection: Beyond tires, they stock a variety of automotive products, including wheels, batteries, and accessories, making them a convenient one-stop shop for common automotive needs.
Les Schwab frequently runs promotions and special offers to provide additional value to its customers. While specific promotions vary by region and time, common examples include:
Instant Savings on Tire Purchases: Customers can often find instant rebates or discounts when purchasing a set of four qualifying tires, with savings varying based on the tire brand and total purchase amount (e.g., "Save up to $120 instantly when you buy a set of 4 premium tires").
Rebates from Manufacturers: Les Schwab frequently partners with tire manufacturers like Hankook or Continental to offer mail-in or online rebates in the form of prepaid Mastercards when purchasing specific sets of tires.
Special Discounts on Services: Periodically, Les Schwab may offer discounts on services such as alignments (e.g., "20% off all alignments" at participating locations).
Chamber of Commerce Discounts: In some areas, Les Schwab locations might offer discounts to local Chamber of Commerce members or through public discount programs.
Value-Added Free Services: While not a traditional "sale," the extensive list of free services included with tire purchases (flat repairs, rotations, rebalancing, air checks, pre-trip safety checks) is a continuous promotional offering that provides significant long-term value and savings to customers.
Seasonal Promotions: Look for special deals tied to seasonal needs, such as discounts on winter tires and services before the cold weather sets in, or specials on all-season tires during spring and summer.
Customers are encouraged to check the official Les Schwab Tire Center website or visit their local store for the most current and specific promotional offers available in their area. By combining an extensive product range with a strong service ethic, a comprehensive warranty, and regular promotions, Les Schwab Tire Center solidifies its position as a reliable and value-driven choice within the "Auto Repair Stations" category for all tire and essential vehicle maintenance needs.

Les Schwab Tire Center Customer Reviews
Arrived at this location at 113 for repair of a flat tire. Was told that it would be a 2 to 2 30 min wait. At 343 my car was still not in a bay, nobody had communicated to me what was going on. I had to ask the lady behind the counter the same one that told me about the wait time. She said there where still cars ahead of me. I reminder her about what she said about the wait time. She did not apologize for being wrong she got an attitude with me. My car finally got into a bay at 520 that's 4 hours of wait. No one communicated with me no apologies no nothing. Worse experience I ever had. Doubt I will use this store ever again. Terrible customer service

Wonderful place. So happy I went to Schwab. The most incredible service, fantastic employees, just can't say enough great things... I love Schwab

The experience here was lacking. Everyone that I dealt with seemed to only be able to communicate in a rude manner or in a demeaning, passive-aggressive tone. Perhaps that's a job requirement. The mechanic wasn't willing to do a job because he didn't want to. Even being willing to pay more money for the job, because it was a little more work, it wasn't offered as an option. Plus, the popcorn looked like it had been sitting in the maker since 2017. If that's your one "perk," it should probably be fresh.

Extremely disappointed with the service at this particular store. I bought 4 tires for my van two weeks ago across town (Les Scwab in South Salem) and did not have any issues like I did with this store. I was greeted with kindness and promptly taken care of. 5 stars to the South Salem store. First I drop off my truck at 10am and the gentleman says it will take 3 hours. No big deal, had hotel reservations to check in at 4. At 12:19 I get a phone call that my truck is being worked on and had a question about the tire itself. Easy peasy, things are going good I am thinking. 3pm rolls around and I still haven't heard anything, so I give them a call and get met with attitude. Mind you I am buying $2,000 worth of tires. I get told oh well, by the way do you have a special lug nut wrench for your truck and I didn't and didn't know I needed it. So then the gentleman say well we have one and it's being used on other trucks. I Bought the truck from a dealership in town and no special key was provided. They then tell me it is going to be another hour or more to get my truck fixed and that they had so many customers getting 4 tires today and its taking longer because I got 35's. So then I got upset and said are you kidding me and he said no I'm dead serious and chuckled. Now I'm pissed and that is why the review. This is not the experience you want whether your spending $5 or $50,000!

I wasn’t very happy with my experience at this location. I came in to get an alignment done after I did a bunch of suspension work on my Tacoma. I also asked if they could straighten out my steering wheel because it was crooked due to the work that I did. I am happy with the alignment that they did. I looked over the numbers on the data sheet and also driving the truck feels good. What I’m not happy with is the service I received. The lady who checked me in and set up my appointment was not friendly and I felt like I was burdening her to be asking to get into the shop. My appointment was a walk in but I did not feel like that was okay based on the attitude I received. I also received a dirty look from her when I was checking out after the service was done. I also didn’t like how the technician handled the situation. We had a conversation about the work I did and the reason my steering wheel was crooked. It was due to something I did incorrectly. I accepted that and asked if that would be something they would fix. I was told no. I thought Les Schwab worked on vehicles and was able to do more technical work. I would have been willing to pay more to have it put together the right way but I guess thats not an option at that store. Again, I understand that what I did wasn’t right but I would have thought a good business would have been willing to work with me. He also had a poor attitude when we discussed all of this and when he checked me out after getting the service done he was not friendly with me. He seemed like he was happier that I was finally leaving rather than hopping I had a good experience.
