Height’s Auto Parts Introduce

Located at 16800 Old U.S. 27, Lansing, MI 48906, USA, Height's Auto Parts operates within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, specifically functioning as a prominent used and rebuilt auto parts store. This establishment is a critical resource for vehicle owners, mechanics, and body shops seeking affordable and often hard-to-find components for a wide range of vehicles. Their primary business revolves around the sale of recycled automotive parts, offering an economical and environmentally friendly alternative to new components.

The environment at Height's Auto Parts, consistent with a used auto parts supplier or salvage yard, is primarily focused on the efficient organization and retrieval of vehicle components. While detailed descriptions of a customer-facing retail space are not extensively provided, the focus is undoubtedly on the vast inventory of parts. Customers visiting in person can expect a practical setting, where the priority is on quickly locating and providing the required part. The process, as described by a satisfied customer, can be "simple and smooth" once contact is established and the part is identified. While the physical environment might not be a polished showroom, the operational environment aims for efficiency in fulfilling parts requests. The operational hours for the business are typically Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, indicating a consistent schedule for customers to reach out or visit.

The core services offered by Height's Auto Parts revolve around the sourcing and sale of **used and recycled automotive parts**. This includes a broad spectrum of components for various makes and models. Based on typical offerings of such establishments and the provided customer review, their services and goods include:

  • **Sale of Used Auto Parts:** Their primary service is providing a wide selection of used parts, which can range from engine components, transmissions, body panels, lights, interior parts, to electrical components like the radio mentioned in a review. This makes them a go-to for affordable replacements and for older or less common vehicles where new parts might be unavailable or prohibitively expensive.
  • **Part Sourcing and Shipping:** As demonstrated by the customer needing a radio for an Acadia, Height's Auto Parts has the capability to source parts from "another location" and arrange for them to be shipped to their Lansing facility. This indicates a network or system in place for fulfilling specific customer requests, even if the part isn't immediately on site.
  • **Quick Part Retrieval:** The experience of being "in and out in less than 5 minutes" once the part was ready highlights their efficiency in having parts organized and accessible for pickup.
  • **Customer Support (with caveats):** They serve as a front-end for customers needing parts, providing information and facilitating transactions. However, as noted in one review, the phone communication aspect has received mixed feedback.

As a used auto parts supplier, they play a crucial role in the automotive ecosystem by extending the life of vehicle components and providing cost-effective repair solutions.

Several features define the customer experience at Height's Auto Parts:

  • **Affordable Parts:** The inherent nature of selling used parts means they offer a cost-effective alternative to new components. This is a significant draw for customers looking to save money on vehicle repairs, particularly for older vehicles or less critical components.
  • **Efficiency in Part Fulfillment:** When the system works as intended, obtaining a part from Height's Auto Parts can be a "simple and smooth" process. The instance where David made it "easy" and the customer was "in and out in less than 5 minutes" underscores their capability for quick and efficient service once the part is located and ready.
  • **Sourcing Capabilities:** Their ability to source parts from other locations demonstrates a commitment to fulfilling customer needs even if the item isn't immediately on hand. This expanded access to inventory is a valuable service.

However, it is important to objectively acknowledge a notable point of concern highlighted in customer feedback: **phone communication challenges.** One reviewer explicitly states, "I was warned about calling this place people answering the phones are unintelligible and immediately place you on hold once you say hello. Overall company is pretty decent but people answering the phones are less than adequate and they are the front end representatives of the company. How to avoid this place try cats in the Lansing area or even U Pull and save." This suggests that while the internal operations for part retrieval and overall company performance might be "decent," the initial point of contact via phone can be a significant barrier to a smooth customer experience. This is a critical aspect, as initial phone calls are often how customers first engage with a business, particularly a parts supplier.

Regarding promotional information, Height's Auto Parts primarily promotes itself through its fundamental business model: offering **affordable, used auto parts**. The value proposition is in the cost savings associated with recycled components compared to new ones. While explicit, time-sensitive promotions are not detailed in the provided information, the core appeal lies in their competitive pricing for used parts and their capability to source specific items. Given the feedback on phone communication, it implies that customers who persist or find alternative methods of communication (if available, though not specified here) can still benefit from their inventory and part-sourcing capabilities. It's advisable for potential customers to be prepared for potentially challenging phone interactions but to understand that the underlying service of providing parts can still be effective, as demonstrated by the positive experience with David. For inquiries about specific parts, availability, or pricing, customers can attempt to contact Height's Auto Parts at **(800) 535-5943** or **+1 800-535-5943**. It is worth noting that some online sources for auto recyclers in Michigan also list a local number as (517) 485-2276, which might offer an alternative for direct communication, though its current status or functionality isn't confirmed by the provided reviews. Customers who prioritize quick and clear phone communication might consider the alternatives suggested by the critical reviewer, such as "cats in the Lansing area or even U Pull and save," to explore options that might better suit their preference for front-end service.

In conclusion, Height's Auto Parts at 16800 Old U.S. 27, Lansing, MI, serves as a crucial resource for affordable, used, and recycled automotive parts within the "Auto Repair Stations" category. While they excel in efficiently sourcing and providing parts, as exemplified by positive experiences like the one with David and the quick in-and-out process, potential customers should be aware of reported challenges with initial phone communication. For those prioritizing cost savings and the availability of used components, and who are prepared for potentially inconsistent phone service, Height's Auto Parts remains a viable option for their automotive part needs in the Lansing area.

Everything was simple and smooth. Needed a radio for my Acadia; David made it easy and got the part shipped from another location out here. Called me when it was ready and was in and out in less than 5 minutes.
