Hagen's Automotive Customer Reviews
Hagans helped me out when my car needed repair. They patiently explained to me what the problems were and used the latest technology to diagnose and shared their key findings via messaged photos. They were conscientious enough to recommend other needed service and offered discounts for this. They have an highly experienced staff unlike chain stores that turnover mechanics. They charged me what I expected to pay based on prevailing rates. I will hire them again to keep my old car on the road and I would recommend.

I went there for an alignment. They stripped my lug nuts and they didn't even do the alignment right 2 months later I'm here with worn out tires due to bad alignment. Now it's gonna cost me 1000$for a new set and a new alignment. AVOID at all cost.

Absolutely Terrible Experience — Would Give Negative Stars If I Could I brought my truck to Kristina at Hagen Automotive for a quote of $6,800 to change the lifters and camshaft. She also recommended changing the timing chain and water pump while they were at it, which would cost about $500 more. I agreed and dropped my truck off on October 17, 2024. She said the work would take about two weeks. Instead, it took six weeks — my truck wasn’t ready until November 28, 2024. I wound up paying $8,300, about $1,500 over budget. Frustrating, but I paid it and moved on. Two weeks later, the engine locked up. Furious, I brought it back under warranty on December 15th. They said it wasn’t their fault — claiming it was the main bearings — but later admitted they hadn’t properly cleaned out all the metal shavings from the camshaft and lifters, which caused the failure. After paying $8,300, Kristina then told me it would cost another $4,000 for a used engine. I refused. I told her to call Jasper Engines, and we ordered a remanufactured engine instead. She said the new engine would arrive February 21, 2025. Even after the engine arrived, the truck just sat there. It took five more weeks to finally get my truck back. In total, they had my truck for about six months. This was some of the worst time management and customer service I have ever experienced. Kristina does not know how to properly quote jobs, manage timelines, or take care of customers after mistakes are made. I would absolutely not recommend Hagen Automotive. Stay away. If I could leave zero or negative three stars, I would.

I want to leave an item review and here we go. I drive a 2011 older truck and broke down nearby. Saw they had good reviews so I called to check their availability and Kristina Here’s the rewritten review for your experience at Hagen Auto: I recently broke down near O’Hare and, based on their good reviews, decided to have my truck towed to Hagen Auto after they assured me they could provide a diagnosis within 24 hours. In addition to the breakdown issue, I also mentioned that the truck was leaking oil and asked them to check it out. The next day, they gave me an estimate of about $1,100 to replace and program the fuel pump module and another $2,400 to repair what they claimed were multiple oil leaks, including the oil filter housing and rear main seal. I couldn’t afford the $2,400 for the oil leaks, so I reluctantly approved the fuel pump module repair just to get back on the road and seek a second opinion. Hagen fixed the fuel pump module and had me back on the road in three days. I then took the truck to a trusted mechanic for a second opinion. He cleaned the areas with oil splatter, took the truck for a test drive, and pinpointed the actual issue: leaking oil pump hoses. He made the repair for just $440. It became clear that Hagen’s diagnosis wasn’t thorough; they didn’t even list the oil pump hoses in their estimate. It seems like they guessed at the cause of the leaks based on oil splatter instead of cleaning the area to confirm the source. On top of that, my second mechanic mentioned that the fuel pump module repair, which Hagen charged $1,160 for, could have been done at his shop for around $500. While Hagen deserves credit for getting me back on the road, their overcharging and poor diagnosis cost me both time and money. I ended up spending about $700 more than I should have. If you value honest, diligent work, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. Two stars for effort, but I wouldn’t go back.
