Gary Weiss Auto Body Introduce

Welcome to Gary Weiss Auto Body, an auto repair station located at 6275 Dixie Hwy, Bridgeport, MI 48722, USA. Operating within the Auto Repair Stations category, Gary Weiss Auto Body appears to specialize in collision repair and auto body work. However, the publicly available customer reviews present contrasting experiences, with one customer praising their work and pricing, while another reports significant negative issues. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on these two distinct perspectives to help local users in the Bridgeport area form their own informed opinions.

One customer described Gary Weiss Auto Body as an "easy going mom/pop sort of place," suggesting a smaller, family-run business environment. This might imply a more personal touch in customer interactions. The same reviewer noted that they were able to leave their vehicle at the shop on the same day they visited for a quote, indicating a potentially accommodating service process. They also mentioned that Gary Weiss Auto Body accepts cash and checks as payment methods. However, the other review provides no insight into the shop's environment, focusing solely on a negative service experience.

Based on the positive review, the services offered by Gary Weiss Auto Body include:

  • Body Work Repair: The primary service appears to be repairing damage to vehicle bodies, likely resulting from collisions or other incidents.
  • Painting: The reviewer mentioned needing repair and painting work, indicating that Gary Weiss Auto Body offers vehicle painting services to match existing paint or apply new finishes.
  • Rim Refurbishment: The same customer expressed intent to have their rims re-done at a later time, suggesting that this is another service offered by the shop.
  • Insurance Claim Assistance: The reviewer's comment about prices fluctuating based on insurance suggests that Gary Weiss Auto Body likely works with insurance companies to process claims related to body work. They also implied that negotiating prices might be easier when paying out-of-pocket.

However, the negative review paints a drastically different picture of the services and overall experience:

  • The reviewer stated that their car "instantly fell apart" after being taken to the shop, a very serious and concerning accusation.
  • They also claimed that a "half tank of gas" was used from their vehicle while it was in the shop.
  • Additionally, the reviewer reported that their "check engine light came on" after the service.
  • The reviewer explicitly accused the shop of "getting ripped off" and "insurance fraud," indicating severe dissatisfaction and allegations of unethical practices.

The features of Gary Weiss Auto Body, as perceived through the contrasting customer reviews, are quite divergent:

  • Potentially Lower Prices: The positive reviewer noted that the quotes received from Gary Weiss Auto Body were "much less" than two other quotes they had obtained for the same work. This suggests that competitive pricing could be a feature for some customers.
  • Acceptance of Cash/Check: The shop accepts cash and checks, which might be a convenience for some customers.
  • Potentially Longer Repair Times: The positive reviewer mentioned that the vehicle had to be at the shop "a bit longer," which could be a factor to consider regarding turnaround time.

However, the negative review highlights extremely concerning potential features:

  • Alleged Substandard or Damaging Work: The claim that the car "instantly fell apart" points to potentially incompetent or negligent repair work.
  • Unexplained Fuel Consumption: The accusation of a significant amount of fuel being used while the vehicle was in the shop raises questions about the handling and security of customer vehicles.
  • Potential for New Vehicle Issues Post-Service: The check engine light coming on after the service suggests that the work done might have caused or failed to address underlying mechanical issues.
  • Accusations of Unethical Practices: The serious allegations of being "ripped off" and "insurance fraud" are significant red flags regarding the shop's integrity and business practices.

Currently, there is no information available regarding any promotional offers or discounts at Gary Weiss Auto Body. Given the starkly contrasting customer experiences, any potential promotions would need to be weighed against the reported service quality and business practices. Local users are advised to consider both perspectives carefully.

In conclusion, Gary Weiss Auto Body in Bridgeport, MI, presents a complex picture based on the limited online customer reviews. One reviewer praised their affordable pricing and quality body work, highlighting a "mom/pop" feel and acceptance of cash/check. However, the other review details extremely serious allegations of damaging repair work, unexplained fuel usage, new vehicle problems post-service, and accusations of being "ripped off" and "insurance fraud." These conflicting accounts make it difficult to provide a definitive assessment of Gary Weiss Auto Body. Local users in Bridgeport seeking auto body repair services should be aware of these contrasting experiences and may want to seek additional information or consider alternative auto body shops in the area to ensure their vehicle is in safe and trustworthy hands. The significant negative allegations warrant extreme caution and further investigation before entrusting Gary Weiss Auto Body with any vehicle repairs.

Gary Weiss Auto Body Customer Reviews

Was visiting family in the area a year back and had three places of body work that needed repair/painting. Family member recommended this place. Easy going mom/pop sort of place but work was perfect and much less of two other quotes I'd found. Vehicle had to be at the shop a bit longer but was able to leave vehicle that day. They accepted cash/check. Prices in the area seem to fluctuate based on if you have insurance so if you can afford it I would pay yourself to let you negotiate. Would definitely use their services again. Will have them re-do my rims when I have the time.
