John's Used Tires and small engine repair Introduce
Located at **4978 Dixie Hwy, Saginaw, MI 48601, USA**, **John's Used Tires and Small Engine Repair** is an establishment operating within the broader "Auto Repair Stations" category, albeit with a distinct specialization. Unlike conventional full-service auto repair shops, this business carves out a niche focusing on **used tires** and **small engine repair**. You can reach them directly at **(989) 401-5366** or via mobile at **+1 989-401-5366**.
The environment of John's Used Tires and Small Engine Repair is likely to be a practical and no-frills setup, characteristic of a specialized, local shop. Given its focus on used tires and small engine repair, the facility would primarily consist of a service bay or designated area for tire mounting and repairs, along with a separate workspace for diagnosing and fixing small engines. You might expect to see a variety of used tires stacked, ready for installation, and various small engine equipment awaiting service. While not a conventional waiting room like larger auto centers, there might be a basic reception area for customer interaction. The emphasis is on functionality and getting the job done, catering to customers looking for cost-effective solutions for their tire and small engine needs.
The services offered by John's Used Tires and Small Engine Repair are highly specialized, reflecting its name. The primary services include:
- **Used Tire Sales and Installation:** This is a core offering, providing an economical alternative to new tires. They cater to a range of vehicles, including passenger cars, trucks, and, as one review mentions, motorcycles. This service typically includes mounting and balancing the used tires.
- **Tire Repair:** Addressing punctures and other minor tire damages to extend the life of existing tires.
- **Small Engine Repair:** This encompasses a wide variety of equipment that utilizes small engines, such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, generators, weed whackers, and potentially other power tools. Services would include diagnostics, tune-ups, carburetor cleaning, engine component repair, and general maintenance for these machines.
Unlike a general auto repair station, this establishment would not typically handle complex vehicle diagnostics, major automotive engine overhauls, transmission repairs, or advanced electrical work on cars and trucks. Its focus is clearly defined by its name, appealing to a specific segment of the market looking for affordable tire solutions and specialized care for their small engine equipment.
The key features of John's Used Tires and Small Engine Repair revolve around its affordability and niche specialization. The primary feature is the **availability of used tires**, which offers a cost-effective option for vehicle owners needing replacements. This can be particularly appealing to individuals on a budget or those needing a temporary solution. Another significant feature is their expertise in **small engine repair**, providing a valuable service for homeowners and professionals who rely on these machines for various tasks. The ability to source and install motorcycle tires, as indicated by a positive review, suggests a broader scope within the tire market than just standard car tires. The business operates as a local, independent shop, which often translates to more personalized service and direct interaction with the owner or lead mechanic.
However, it is imperative to address critical feedback from real customers, which provides crucial insights into the customer experience at this establishment. While one review offers a positive note:
"Stopped in got a he had the tire I needed for my motorcycle call him and see if he's got what you need good people"
This positive experience highlights the potential for finding specific used tires and a general positive interaction. However, a highly concerning review presents a starkly different picture:
"Owner (Bob) attempted to steal my son’s Mini Bike. It was a struggle to retrieve my property as I had to get the authorities involved. He was very rude, and lacked customer service while he yelled at me in front of the other employees and my children. I felt threatened for my children and I. He hung up in my face when I asked when my bike would be ready. I would give a -10 if the option was available. 0/10. DO NOT RECOMMEND !!"
This severe negative feedback points to critical issues with **customer service, professionalism, and ethical conduct**. Allegations of attempting to steal property, rudeness, yelling, and threatening behavior are serious concerns that prospective customers must take into account. The need for authorities to be involved, coupled with the owner hanging up on the customer, indicates a potentially highly volatile and unsatisfactory experience. This level of negative feedback, particularly regarding personal property and behavior, can significantly impact a business's reputation and trust among local users.
Regarding promotional information, businesses like John's Used Tires and Small Engine Repair typically rely on direct engagement and word-of-mouth within their local community. While specific structured promotions are not detailed, common strategies for such specialized shops might include:
- **Affordable Pricing:** The very nature of selling used tires is a form of promotion, emphasizing cost savings.
- **Quick Turnaround Times:** For basic services like tire installation or minor small engine repairs, promising efficiency can be a draw.
- **Special Deals on Bulk Used Tires:** For customers needing multiple replacements.
- **Local Advertising:** Potentially through community boards, local classifieds, or simple signage.
However, given the extremely negative customer review, any promotional efforts would likely be overshadowed by concerns about reliability and customer treatment. For potential users in Saginaw, MI, seeking used tires or small engine repair, it is advisable to weigh the potential cost savings and specialized services against the reported negative customer experiences. Direct communication and clarification of terms and expectations before any service is rendered would be highly recommended.

I have known John for over a decade. His integrity is exceptional. Long term relationships are important. He gives great service as a small business owner. He is more than competitive for new or used Tires. I am referring him to all my friends and co-workers! Cars ,trucks, motor cycles and even lawn mower repair and tires. I will be back!

After telling them twice I needed to keep my tires they were thrown out. Good tires with good tread. Owner claims oops we threw them away they were bad tires. I had called ahead and then sent my son there because of my work schedule. They also said there was a charge for them getting rid of tires to which my son TOLD them he wanted to take them home. That fee was never charged. I just got screwed over by some idiots who don’t pay attention or pay me back.
