Welcome to Firestone - Auto ProCare, an Auto Repair Station conveniently located at 129 Irving Park Rd in Wood Dale, Illinois. As part of the well-known Firestone brand, Auto ProCare aims to provide a comprehensive range of automotive services to keep your vehicle running smoothly and safely. While primarily recognized for tire services, Firestone - Auto ProCare locations also function as Auto Repair Stations, offering various maintenance and repair services. For local users in Wood Dale and the surrounding areas, understanding the experiences of fellow customers can be invaluable when choosing an automotive service provider.
The environment at Firestone - Auto ProCare in Wood Dale appears to have aspects of professionalism and attentiveness, as indicated by one positive customer review. This review highlights the team's attentiveness and quick service, suggesting an efficient and customer-focused approach in some instances. The mention of thorough communication and clear explanations of work performed also points to a service culture that values keeping customers informed. This positive feedback suggests that some customers have experienced a well-managed and communicative service environment at this location.
As a full-service Auto Repair Station, Firestone - Auto ProCare in Wood Dale offers a variety of services beyond tire sales and installation. These typically include oil changes, brake service and repair, wheel alignments, battery replacement, engine diagnostics, heating and cooling system service, and other general automotive maintenance and repair work. The positive review mentions the team working quickly and communicating well, implying efficiency across these service offerings. However, it's essential to consider the full spectrum of customer experiences to gain a comprehensive understanding of the services provided.
Examining the customer reviews reveals a dichotomy in experiences. One customer shared a highly negative account detailing concerns about potentially unnecessary repairs and questionable service practices. This lengthy review describes an initial visit for shock, rotor, and brake pad replacement on a relatively new car with moderate mileage. A subsequent visit for brake noise led to another rotor and brake pad replacement within a short timeframe, raising questions about the longevity and necessity of these replacements. The customer explicitly stated they do not engage in hard braking, making the repeated wear concerning.
The negative review further elaborates on an incident involving a shock replacement. Despite the customer having replaced the shocks less than two years prior with minimal additional mileage, the service team allegedly suggested replacement again, conveniently after the one-year warranty had expired. It was only upon the customer's insistence and a warranty check that it was discovered the shocks were still under warranty. This situation raises serious concerns about transparency and the potential for recommending unnecessary services. The customer also reported unauthorized commencement of work and being surprised when only a quote was requested after the warranty issue was resolved. Additionally, the customer sought second opinions from two other repair shops, both of which found no issues with the shocks, further solidifying their suspicion of a potential scam.
The stark contrast between the two reviews highlights the importance of considering all feedback when evaluating an Auto Repair Station. While one customer experienced attentiveness, quick service, and good communication, the other reported issues that could significantly impact trust and customer satisfaction. The negative review suggests potential problems with diagnostic accuracy, transparency in recommendations, adherence to warranty information, and communication regarding the scope of work and associated costs. These are critical factors for local users to consider when deciding where to take their vehicles for service.
Currently, the provided information does not include any specific promotional details for Firestone - Auto ProCare in Wood Dale. Firestone, as a national chain, often has various promotions on tires and sometimes on specific services. It's always a good practice to ask about any ongoing offers when scheduling service or repairs.
In conclusion, Firestone - Auto ProCare in Wood Dale, IL, functions as an Auto Repair Station offering a range of automotive services, including tire sales and service, oil changes, brake repairs, and more. While one customer reported a positive experience with attentive and quick service, another detailed significant concerns about potential over-servicing, lack of transparency regarding warranty, and poor communication. This divergence in experiences underscores the importance for local users to weigh all available feedback and potentially seek multiple opinions for significant repairs. Contacting the store directly for information on current promotions and discussing any concerns about service recommendations may also be beneficial in making an informed decision about your auto care needs at this location.

If you don’t want to read the whole essay I’ve written, just understand one thing NEVER come to this location unless you want to get scammed. The first time I came to this location was on 09/01/2023 and my mileage was at 71,000. At that time I had my shocks, rotors, and my brake pads replaced. Don’t ask me why I needed all that replaced when my 2017 car is still fairly new, I don’t drive recklessly, and I don’t drive on rough roads either. Unfortunately, I had trouble with my rear brakes making a screeching noise. This location does charge you for labor as well this is important. I didn’t have an issue with it at that time. Come 05/01/2025 I’m hearing a screeching noise again. Surely it’s just the brake pads, although why would my brake pads be worn out already?? I go in a few days later and I’m expecting at the most to pay for just the brake pads. However, since my rear brakes pads were non existent at this point it did damage the rotor therefore having to replace that as well. Let me reiterate this, I do NOT brake hard was the only reason they have me as to why I have to replace them again. I’d admit it otherwise and change my bad habits if it costs me $80 for ceramic pads, $160 for the rotor, and another $160 for labor each time. Why else could my brake pads need to be replaced so soon?! Now I’m not saying they gave me faulty equipment because my partner did check when they installed it and I’m not saying they installed it incorrectly or else I would have noticed it right away at least from the sound. I can’t say anything for sure. What made me question this establishment was the shocks situation. They said I need to have my shocks replaced as well! When like I said I got them replaced not even 2 years ago, when I accumulated at most 12,000 more miles since then, and I don’t drive far! I stay in the suburbs! After I remind them that I replaced them at my last visit (side note: as a professional that just looked at my paperwork wouldn’t you look at the date of my last visit, what services was provided to me, and what mileage my car was at that time and what it is now?) they went back to the computer to verify this. The man that stayed at the counter and the man who was working on my car were silently talking about how shocks have a limited warranty for only a year. (They both looked like the same exact employees from my last visit) Very convenient since I’m coming in after that year of limited warranty expires. So I press again! Why do I need to get the shocks replaced if it hasn’t even been 2 years and aren’t they good for at least another 50,000 miles? The man behind the counter ends up calling about the shocks warranty and lo and behold my shocks are still under warranty! So if they are trying to get me to suspect them of scamming me for more money they are doing a great job. Now I hear the guy order parts I need for my car and also tell the guy who’s working on my car to go ahead and start the service on my car. I wasn’t aware someone else was with me that gave you the consent to go ahead and work on my car. I NEVER said to go forth with the services and after I told him I’d just want the quote he wants to look at me all surprised. Sir are you delusional?! After you just “forgot” about my warranty or you weren’t aware of the timeline for the warranty (either one is bad practice). And you’re still going to charge me for labor for replacing the shocks as well?! To solidify the fact that I don’t need my shocks replaced I not only ask my wise parents (who said they are trying to scam me) and go to TWO separate places to which they have NOTHING to say about my shocks. It is VERY common for women like me to get taken advantage of at these places since we won’t know everything and we want to trust the workers as well as the business to treat us fairly. If you’re wondering who ended up helping me it was Midas in Arlington Heights who did not try to scam me and also offers a lifetime warranty on ceramic break pads.

I had the most amazing experience here today. I desperately needed a new battery to be put in. I went to 3 other places that couldn’t help because they didn’t have enough staff or just couldn’t put one in my Nissan Rogue. I also had family at the airport and only had about 1 and a half hours to get this done. They heard my story and jumped into action. The friendliest group of guys ever. Thank you for helping this senior in need!!!!!

Brought in my car to have a leaky tire fixed a few months ago. I paid $30 for the hole to be plugged only for it to start leaking overnight. I had to take it in two more times before they finally "fixed" the leak. However, a few weeks ago the same tire is leaking again. The people here are extremely nice but going back three times and now having more issues soured my experience.

Recently came here to fix up some AC issues. They did a great job and did it so efficiently. Plus his prices are very reasonable. Very welcoming environment.
