ESS Equipment Sales + Service Customer Reviews

A friend of mine is a master mechanic here, I was just stopping in to say hello. But if you need mechanic repairs of almost any kind on commercial equipment this is definitely the place to have it done at. The mechanics here do top notch work! Shortly after this review I got a job here and loved every day of the chaos. Great company with great people to work with. Update... still working here and kickin arse everyday!

The worst shop I've ever experienced ! Had truck there for over 2 months they never touched it ! Each time I called, after 4 left messages and 2 hang ups , I got one excuse after another. Had to drive there to get a straight answer out of a mechanic. Mechanics get pulled off of work when they start a job, nothing is ever completed. Office personnel are absolutely awful ! Rude and hang up on customers ! Theres an oager who is useless This is their standard operating way I guess. Do Not Take anything here! A true hillbilly mechanics operation.

Don took a look at my service truck, rear door wouldn’t latch. Fixed it in about 15 minutes. See edited review Because he hooked me up looking at my truck I decided to take my backhoe to ESS. It was dropped ball after dropped ball. I got every excuse from the hydraulic tech is on vacation and locked your paper work in his truck to “it was the other office person that forgot to call you”. At least 3 times I called without a call back. Finally I got don involved (hit zero in their directory) after it took 2 months to get my machine back for ONE cylinder rebuild. After it took months to get back it was still leaking the first day back. Don stepped up and had rick the tech do some maintenance on my machine “for free”. Problem was I then got another $1100 invoice for stuff that was supposed to be free. I agreed to pay for a filter housing but was told it was only about $200. Had to call the owner AGAIN to get it straightened out. He kept talking about how his hydraulic tech rick was good when he hired him but sucks and he’s probably going to fire him, but somehow the tech that messed up at least 3 different times was still the only one working on my machine. I will not be returning here.

Worst place for repairs I've ever been, they told me to bring my truck for a warranty repair, they kept my truck for almost a month, could not get any info from phone calls, had to go there in person to find out ,took me an hour to get there, they cost me thousands by keeping my truck so long, don't even know if they did the repair right,if I could give them a minus 10 stars I would ,beware stay away

Long review incoming: this place is a tale of 2 sides of a coin. A couple years ago, the owner was Don. Don is rough around the edges for sure. If he wants something done, he would push and push until it was done correctly. If he feels it's not being done correctly, he may get angry with you, raise his voice, but hop in and make sure the job is done correctly by his own hands. That being said, Don has respect. Although he is a loud and brash boss, you cant help but love the jovial magnetic personality of the man outside of the business. If personal life milestones happened (birthdays, marriages, family death, etc) then Don was always there to congratulate or give his condolences. For Thanksgiving, Don would buy his staff Turkeys and occasionally buy them lunch every month or so. It truly felt like a familial bond he had built up. When the place sold, Don had a lot of conditions in play. He didn't want any of his staff to be replaced or removed outright. With this personality, not only did he give respect but he earned it through everyone he met. Then the sale happened. A new manager came on and what followed was a good example of what not to do. Although the idea probably was to make the place seem more professional and attractive to the business as a whole, what unfortunately happened was alienation and lack of accountability. If a problem needed fixed, the manager was never around. Instead, he would put several people in charge of other people, effectively rendering any of the familial comradery that Don had built up, a toxic volatile situation where nobody could trust anybody and finger pointing became the norm. All this isn't even considering the business side of things. Several places refusing to do business with ESS due to the lack of paying bills and the lack of respect. I hope for the new owners sake and the great people who work there that they can figure all this out and hopefully find ways to get things back to at least serviceable status, because it's not their fault.
