A totally unique experience you’ll only find at Edward Hyundai Service Center in Council Bluffs Iowa! Best of luck! First if you buy your car from here, reconsider. I bought my car from Edwards Hyundai (2015 Hyundai Santa Fe sport) and didn’t even make it home with it. I lived 10 minutes from the dealership. Turns out it was a knock sensor that had been recalled that they knew about and had ruined the engine. They informed me that they legally did not have to inform me of recalls, only things currently wrong with the car and since the knock sensor wasn’t acting up when I was buying it they didn’t have to inform me of this. Then they stated “you know what they say about cars built on a Friday”. The engine was replaced for free with a life time warranty, this is important for later in the story. There was so much wrong with this car. I had so much money put into this car. There was a list of things that needed replaced every 6 months or so, ball joints, brakes, axles, etc. at the end of owning the car it was tires. I put brand new tires on in October and went to have them rotated in February and was denied as the mechanics told me they were wearing unevenly and one was almost bald. They told me I needed to get an alignment and all the other work done. I had that done when I got the tires put on. There was also the issue of whenever I braked my car would shake. No one could ever figure out why. Countless mechanics would just shrug and wish me good luck. About a month before I decided to trade my car in the check engine light came on on the dash and it began to drive weird again. I had a friend check with an engine diagnostic thing and it said what I had feared, knock sensor. Again. This is something that was supposed to be covered under the warranty on the engine, remember that part from earlier. The service people deny me over the phone and quote me hundreds of dollars. I go in person and argue my case about the recall and the warranty. They then tell me that because I have no proof that I had been maintaining my car 100% like I’m supposed to they will not and cannot honor the warranty. They said going to other places, and having friends, family and unlicensed mechanics work on the car voids the warranty. We argue back and forth. I began to fill out forms on my laptop for the better business bureau with a long line of customers behind me and while there were only two available service people. After about 30 minutes of me asking questions related to better business bureau needed information I think they took me seriously. The manager sighed and said they’d honor it. They said they would have it done in two days. I made it very clear that I needed my car back in two days because I was going on vacation. They said they were aware and this could work, they had to order parts. The parts arrived late and my car was not finished in time, shocker. We made an arrangement that they would work on my car the week I would be gone, they would hold my car and I’d pick it up Monday. I come back and call them on Monday and they tell me that ‘they like sorta forgot about my car’. They would work on it today. My car was there for a week and they forgot about it. I had called 6 times and was informed they were making great progress on it! They called me a few hours later and said that the wire on the knock sensor was chewed by a mouse and needed to be replaced, they’d do it for parts no labor. I called my family to discuss and tried to call them back for two hours and they would not answer me. I finally got a hold of them and gave them my answer of yes to change the wire. They told me that they would have to go get the wire and it would probably be tomorrow then. I didn’t get my car back until a week and half later and argued for a large discount. I later opened my trunk to find the bottom skid plate in my trunk. They put it there and forgot. I went back and they told me they were closing and told me to come back later. I went back the next day had it fixed.I’ve had other similar experiences like this here and only here. Yikes.

We were passing through on our cross country trip back home (coast to coast) and we needed a new engine air filter. They were friendly and quick to help us get the part we were looking for. While my husband took care of the filter, I took the opportunity for a quick bathroom break with our 2 cocker spaniels. When we were done, we went to stand in the shade of the building (90° outside.) Immediately a gentleman from the showroom came out and ushered us inside and directed us to dog treats at the reception desk. We sat comfortably inside and waited. We appreciate the kindness offered by the staff at Edwards Hyundai! Great customer service!

I think the new service manager lacks compotent reasoning. After my engine failed in my 2018 Elantra.... Mind you was driven only 78,000 easy miles. The car died on me a few times after the warranty work was done. He told me after I got it back that it was a clutch problem because I asked about it. I asked because if you are rebuilding the Tyco wanna be engine and if was already disassembled, why not ask!. Got quoted 2200 bucks, are you kidding me??? I took it to another local body shop which indicated no clutch issues. This service dept is as big of a joke as the brand. Thank God I sold it. I will never buy garbage from garbage again. Do not buy or service here!

My mother bought a 2022 Hyundai Tuscon with 31k miles from this dealership in February The first mistake is buying a car from these people. The horn on this car didn't work when she bought it so she took it in today to have it looked at. When she takes it in, they do an alignment check automatically. In the waiting area they have a screen showing all the vehicles they have plus their tire tread depth and alignment. Her car was fine during the alignment and tread check. They were going to charge her a $226 diagnostic fee plus parts and labor to fix it. They also told her that she needed to flush her fuel system, and that she needed an alignment. Every time she tried to call to get the status on her vehicle she was transferred and hung up on. She was finally able to get through and the guy she had been working with didn't seem to know what she was talking about. No surprise there given all of our past experiences with Edwards. She goes to pick up her car and they end up not charging her because it's a known issue and the guy she had been working with would not come speak with her and she had to go through another representative to get everything taken care of.
