Ed Iskenderian Racing Cams Introduce
Ed Iskenderian Racing Cams, often simply known as Isky Cams, is a highly specialized establishment located at 16020 S Broadway, Gardena, CA 90248, USA. While categorized under "Auto Repair Stations," its core business is not general vehicle repair but rather the design, manufacturing, and distribution of high-performance camshafts and related engine components. This niche focus caters to a specific segment of the automotive world, including racing enthusiasts, hot rod builders, and those seeking to enhance engine performance. They can be reached by phone at (310) 217-9233 or via mobile at +1 310-217-9232.
The environment at Ed Iskenderian Racing Cams is less like a traditional auto repair shop and more akin to a specialized manufacturing and distribution facility for high-performance engine parts. Given their historical significance in the racing world—Isky Cams has been a legendary name for decades—one might expect an environment steeped in automotive history and engineering. This would likely include a workshop area for cam grinding and manufacturing, alongside offices for design, sales, and technical support. The atmosphere is geared towards technical expertise and the production of precision components. However, insights from customer reviews suggest that while the physical space might be functional, the customer-facing aspect of the environment can be challenging. The experience described by one customer indicates an unwelcoming atmosphere during technical consultations, characterized by interruptions and perceived unhelpfulness. This implies a need for a more client-friendly approach within what is undoubtedly a highly technical setting. Despite this, the focus remains on the specialized production of high-performance racing parts, catering to a clientele that values precision engineering.
The services offered by Ed Iskenderian Racing Cams are highly specialized and revolve around camshaft technology and related engine components. Their primary service is the manufacturing and sale of performance camshafts, which are critical components for optimizing engine timing and valve lift, directly impacting horsepower and torque. They cater to a wide range of applications, from vintage hot rods to modern fuel-injected engines, as well as niche areas like mini bike racing. Their expertise includes recommending appropriate cam setups for specific engine builds and performance goals. Beyond just selling parts, they offer technical consultation, aimed at helping customers select the right components for their projects. This often involves discussing cam specifications (specs) and compatibility with various engine types (e.g., small block, EFI). The company also likely provides resources for installation and tuning guidance, given the intricate nature of camshaft integration into an engine. While they do not provide general vehicle repair, their specialized services are indispensable for engine builders, tuners, and enthusiasts looking to extract maximum performance from their powerplants. The emphasis is on precision engineering and tailored solutions for demanding automotive applications.
The key features of Ed Iskenderian Racing Cams are its legendary status in the automotive performance industry, its specialization in camshafts, and its long history of innovation. Isky Cams is a name synonymous with high-performance engine building and racing, having contributed significantly to automotive horsepower for many decades. This rich heritage is a major draw for enthusiasts who value brand legacy and proven performance. They offer a vast catalog of camshaft profiles and designs, catering to diverse engine types and racing disciplines. The shop is also noted for providing parts for niche segments like "mini bike racing," showcasing their versatility and deep reach within the performance community. However, customer feedback reveals a concerning feature regarding their customer service. One review describes a "horrible experience" with a "tech guy" who displayed "attitude," was interruptive, became "mad when I asked a couple questions," and ultimately "hung up" on the customer. This starkly contrasts with the expectation of expert and helpful consultation. While the products themselves are often highly regarded, this negative customer interaction suggests that the human element of service may not always match the technical prowess of their offerings. The contrast between the product's reputation and the service experience is a critical feature for prospective customers to consider.
In terms of promotional information, Ed Iskenderian Racing Cams primarily leverages its iconic brand name and its deep roots in racing history. The company's long-standing reputation as a pioneer and leader in performance camshafts is its most powerful promotional asset. Enthusiasts and professionals often seek out Isky Cams due to its proven track record and the legacy associated with the "Isky" name. Online presence, such as "Check them out online! Check out small cam engine racing on Instagram," indicates that they utilize digital platforms to showcase their products and engage with the performance community. This type of organic promotion, often driven by customer satisfaction and successful builds featuring their products, is invaluable. However, the provided customer review acts as a significant counter-promotion. The direct and strong advice to "run, fast as you can" from the shop due to poor customer service is a potent deterrent. While the quality of their physical products might be stellar for some, the negative service experience can severely impact word-of-mouth and online reputation, which are crucial for specialized businesses. Therefore, while their brand history and product quality are strong promotional tools, the inconsistency in customer interaction presents a challenge to their overall promotional efforts.

Ed Iskenderian Racing Cams Customer Reviews
I will tell anyone thats asks me about Isky cams, to run, fast as you can. I called to get some recommendations on a cam setup for a fuel injected small block, cam was for my 13 yr old’s first truck (father/son project) and the tech guy immediately had attitude because I asked about cam specs of a cam from comp cams…. We liked the sound, could he recommend something that would work with EFI with a similar sound profile. After interrupting me several times, getting mad when I asked a couple questions, then telling me I was wasting his time… he hung up on me. Nolan hasn’t called back after reaching out to him 3-4 months ago. You can get better service at a Family Dollar thrift store.

Terrible business really unorganized doesn’t return phone calls just wasted my time for 6 months they will lose your order and lead you on to believe it’s “getting grounded” when they really have no clue where it’s at👎 My order was lost and never put through thanks for nothing never again 👎👎
