Dave's Tristate Truck Service Introduce
Dave's Tristate Truck Service, located at 20886 Rte 19, Cranberry Twp, PA 16066, USA, operates as an "Auto Repair Station" with a significant specialization in truck and heavy-duty vehicle services, alongside offering auto repair. You can reach them at (724) 452-8631 or via mobile at +1 724-452-8631. This establishment serves a crucial role in providing emergency roadside assistance, towing, and comprehensive repair services for a wide range of vehicles in the Cranberry Township area and beyond.
As a truck service center, Dave's Tristate Truck Service is likely equipped to handle large vehicles, indicating a spacious and robust facility. Their location on Route 19 in Cranberry Township suggests easy access for commercial vehicles and those traveling through the region. While specific details about a customer waiting area or lounge amenities are not provided, one customer's experience highlights the owner, Dave's, kindness in allowing individuals to use the bathroom in the offices, suggesting a basic level of accommodation. The nature of their business, including 24/7 towing and mobile repair services, means their "environment" often extends to the roadside, where they provide immediate assistance. Their in-shop facility would typically be organized to accommodate large trucks and their specialized equipment for diagnostics and repair. Normal shop hours are generally Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM, but their 24/7 towing and mobile repair ensure they are available for emergencies outside these times.
Dave's Tristate Truck Service offers a broad spectrum of services that fall under the "Auto Repair Stations" category, with a strong emphasis on heavy-duty vehicles. Their services include:
- 24/7 Towing & Recovery: This covers light, medium, and heavy-duty towing, rollovers, load shifts, load transfers, pull starts, and winch-outs. Their ability to handle a bus with a blown tire and then a no-start issue, as described by a customer, exemplifies their emergency roadside capabilities.
- Mobile Repair Services: They provide on-site diagnostics and repairs for trucks and other vehicles, crucial for minimizing downtime for commercial operations or stranded motorists.
- Full Shop Facility: In addition to mobile services, they have a comprehensive shop for in-depth repairs.
- Truck & Trailer Repair: This is a core offering, encompassing various issues that affect commercial vehicles.
- RV Repairs: Extending their expertise beyond commercial trucks to recreational vehicles.
- Auto Repair: Indicating they also service passenger cars.
- Specialized Repairs: Including axle repair, hydraulics, and exhaust repairs.
- Routine Maintenance: Such as oil & lube services and fleet maintenance.
- Computer Diagnostics: Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment for both shop and mobile diagnostics to accurately identify vehicle problems.
- Emergency Services: Beyond towing, they offer mobile fueling, lock-out services, and environmental clean-up associated with accidents.
- Parts: They likely stock or can quickly source essential parts for repairs.
- Secure Storage and Trailer Drop Yard: Providing logistical support for their commercial clients.
Dave's Tristate Truck Service is characterized by its broad service offering and responsiveness, particularly in emergency situations. One of their defining features is their 24/7 availability for towing and emergency roadside assistance, which is critical for truck drivers and motorists facing unexpected breakdowns. The customer review about the bus incident highlights the staff's kindness and willingness to assist beyond the direct repair, offering restroom access and even a ride for supplies during a lengthy service. This indicates a strong focus on customer comfort and support during stressful situations. The ability to eventually "figure out what was wrong with the bus" after hours of troubleshooting speaks to their persistence and technical capability, even with complex issues. The owner, Dave, is specifically praised for his kindness, suggesting a personable approach to business.
However, another review presents a contrasting experience, raising concerns about their practices, particularly in emergency scenarios. This customer detailed a "black ice incident" where a young adult was charged a significant amount ($585) for a simple "pull-out" service, without prior explanation of charges or the opportunity to contact his own AAA service. The concern was heightened by the presence of a second tow truck driver whose contribution to the service was questioned, leading to an additional charge. This review suggests a potential issue with transparency in pricing and potential aggressive billing practices when drivers are in vulnerable emergency situations. It also raises questions about their relationship with emergency personnel and whether non-AAA affiliated companies are intentionally called to scenes. This contrasting feedback highlights that while they can provide competent and compassionate service in some instances, there may be inconsistencies in their operational practices and customer communication, particularly under high-stress, emergency circumstances. Customers should be aware of the need to inquire about pricing and options upfront, especially during roadside emergencies.
Given the mixed customer feedback, the promotional information for Dave's Tristate Truck Service would need to balance their evident capabilities with addressing potential concerns. Their primary promotional angles include their 24/7 emergency roadside assistance, heavy-duty towing and recovery expertise, and comprehensive in-shop and mobile repair services for a wide range of vehicles, including trucks, buses, RVs, and cars. They can highlight their "state-of-the-art computer diagnostics" as a key technical advantage. The positive review about the bus repair could be used to showcase their problem-solving skills and customer-friendly attitude in challenging situations, particularly the kindness of the owner and staff. However, for local users, it's crucial to acknowledge the negative feedback regarding pricing transparency and perceived opportunism in emergency situations. Therefore, potential customers, especially those in roadside emergency scenarios, are advised to:
- Inquire about pricing upfront: Always ask for an estimated cost of service before agreeing to any work, especially for towing and emergency pull-outs.
- Understand all charges: Request a breakdown of charges and clarify why multiple vehicles or personnel might be dispatched.
- Know your roadside assistance options: Be aware of your insurance or auto club benefits (like AAA) before needing emergency services.
While Dave's Tristate Truck Service undoubtedly provides essential services, particularly for heavy-duty vehicles and in emergency contexts, prospective customers should exercise due diligence regarding their pricing and communication practices in high-pressure situations to ensure a satisfactory experience.

We were on our way to a missions trip in Baltimore when our bus blew a tire. These guys helped fix it, but when we went to leave, our bus wouldn’t start. Our bus was sitting there for hours while they were trying to figure out what was wrong with it. The owner, Dave, was so kind. He let the women use the bathroom in the offices and one of the employees even offered to drive one of the men in our group down the road to pick up some cups. They eventually figured out what was wrong with the bus. They were great! Super friendly too!

My son was involved in a black ice incident on 79. This company arrived on site after emergency personnel (we believe they intentionally call in Non AAA companies). Kick backs???? He literally only needed pulled back up onto the road and was charged $585 due on site by cash or card ($135 of which was for a 2nd tow truck driver that arrived after the original tow truck was already pulling him out and the other driver assisted by “steering his car” as it was being pulled even though there were 4 other vehicles that also needed towed/pulled out). He is a young adult (only 21) and we feel he was fully taken advantage of because nothing was explained to him before nor was he given the opportunity to call AAA which he has for his own tow truck because they just wanted to clear the scene. Driver’s beware!!!!! Taking advantage of drivers in “emergency” situations. He was scared and shaken up as this was his first ever experience as a driver in an “accident”. No injuries and no damage to his car, but $585 to put the car back on the road is ridiculous. With 5 vehicles that’s like $3000 if they charged everyone the same. I’d hate to know what the bill would have been if it had to be towed. I will NEVER promote this company to anyone.

We had a truck blow the air line between the compressor and dryer close to Dave's shop on a fri afternoon. I called several shops. Several didn't even answer the phone. The one shop that did answer said they were at least 5 hrs till they could get someone out. I called Dave's. He got a tech out within 30 min, and had the truck fixed in about 2 hours. My driver said the tech onsite was vary nice and helpful. The guy I spoke with on the phone was also very helpful. I would definitely use them again.

Dave's tri-state was fantastic. My normal auto service garage, (Aiken Auto), sold the business and I had no place to go that I trusted for inspection. My neighbor who put brakes on my car recommended Dave's and I'm glad he did. They had me come in at 12:30pm and had me inspected and outta there by 1:30pm. Possibly Cranberry twp's best kept secret LOL
