Chicagoland Tire Introduce
Chicagoland Tire, located at 1304 National Ave, Addison, IL 60101, USA, operates within the platform category of Auto Repair Stations, despite its name emphasizing tires. This establishment serves the local users of Addison and surrounding areas, offering a range of automotive services and goods for sale. They can be contacted via phone at (630) 458-0300 or mobile at +1 630-458-0300. As a full-service repair center, Chicagoland Tire aims to provide comprehensive vehicle care, extending beyond just tire services to encompass a broader spectrum of auto repair needs.
According to their online presence, Chicagoland Tire states they moved to a new, state-of-the-art, and twice-sized location in May 2017. This suggests a commitment to providing a more modern and accommodating environment for their customers and operations. A typical auto repair station environment, especially a 'state-of-the-art' one, would feature multiple well-equipped service bays with vehicle lifts, advanced diagnostic machinery, and specialized tools for various automotive tasks. The shop floor is expected to be clean and organized, indicating professionalism and efficiency. For customers, a comfortable and clean waiting room is usually provided, often with amenities such as free coffee, snacks, and Wi-Fi, aiming to make the waiting period as pleasant as possible. A professional and transparent approach to customer interaction, including clear signage and easily accessible information, would also contribute to a positive environment. The general expectation for such a facility is an inviting and trustworthy atmosphere where customers feel confident about the service their vehicles will receive.
Chicagoland Tire offers a diverse range of services, encompassing both tire-specific needs and general auto repair. As a Continental / General Tire GOLD Dealer, they provide a selection of new tires and associated services like tire installation, mounting, balancing, rotation, and flat repair. Their offerings extend to complete auto repair, which includes routine maintenance such as oil changes (both conventional and full synthetic), tire rotations, and comprehensive vehicle inspections. More intensive repair services include brake system work, specifically brake pads and rotors, battery replacement, coolant flushes, AC recharges, and complete engine repair covering tune-ups, timing belts, alternators, and power steering. They also handle suspension and steering issues, addressing shocks, struts, steering components, wheel bearings, and ball joints. A notable service is their wheel alignment expertise, crucial for vehicle handling and tire longevity. Furthermore, Chicagoland Tire states they can address emissions repair issues and specialize in small business fleets. They also mention selling quality used cars and trucks, expanding their goods for sale beyond just parts to include entire vehicles.
The features that Chicagoland Tire highlights include their experienced mechanics, boasting over 25 years of combined experience, dedicated to high-quality repairs. They emphasize a commitment to providing a stress-free experience for both new and returning customers. A key feature is their stated use of "Premium parts from reputable brands" and the availability of "most Tire Brands" and "Quality Napa Parts," ensuring vehicle readiness. They also claim to offer warranty coverage and excellent customer service. Promotions listed on their website include a "Wheel Alignment Special For Only $50.00" and special pricing for brake pads and rotors. They also offer financing options through Synchrony and Snap Financial for tires and services, including potential interest-free periods. A "Free car Inspection and Quote" is also advertised to encourage customers to visit before simple repairs escalate. They aim to be a comprehensive auto repair center, offering a wide array of services and products under one roof.
However, it is imperative to objectively present customer experiences which paint a concerning picture of Chicagoland Tire's operations, as reflected in available online reviews. Multiple customers have reported what they describe as "questionable practices" and "unprofessional attitude." One detailed account describes issues with communication and transparency, particularly concerning additional, seemingly unnecessary repairs. The customer reported being informed of broken wheel studs, with the blame attributed to a previous shop, leading to an unexpected charge. Furthermore, the customer felt convinced to replace front brakes and rotors which, according to a previous inspection report from another reputable dealer, were in good condition. The pricing structure was also called into question, with the final bill significantly higher than expected and inconsistencies noted between quoted prices and website promotions. The customer observed that the actual work time did not align with the claimed labor hours. Another review highlights a "negative experience" with a wheel alignment service, where despite the car still pulling to the right, the technician insisted computer diagnostics were "green" and refused further attempts to fix it. This interaction reportedly escalated to rudeness, with the staff dismissively offering a refund and telling the customer "Don’t come back again." These reviews raise significant concerns about the transparency of operations, the necessity of recommended repairs, pricing practices, and overall customer service professionalism. While the business advertises quality and customer satisfaction, these detailed customer accounts suggest a notable disparity in their actual operational practices and customer interactions, which could significantly impact their reputation and ability to attract and retain clientele despite their broad range of services and promotional efforts.

Chicagoland Tire Customer Reviews
Questionable Practices – I went to Chicagoland Tires for a wheel alignment and to replace the rear rotors and brake pads. Prior to this visit, I had an oil change at Honda Libertyville, where I was informed that the rear brakes were at 3mm and needed replacement, while the front brakes were still at 8mm and in good condition. I attached a picture of this report. I arrived around 8:10 AM and asked the owner to assess the vehicle and let me know what actually needed to be done. I mistakenly told the owner at Chicagoland Tires that the front brakes might be at 6mm but said they may not need replacement. Unfortunately, the communication and transparency from that point onward were disappointing. Shortly after, the owner informed me that six wheel studs had broken while removing the wheels and blamed it on poor work by a previous shop—either Honda or someone else. I was left unsure whether this was truly the case, but I had no way to validate it. I was charged $47.94 for the new studs and nuts, which I accepted out of caution. While inspecting the front wheels (which did not need brake work), the owner convinced me to replace the front rotors and brake pads as well, claiming it was the right time since they were already working on the area. I agreed under the impression that he was doing me a favor—only to find out later that this decision cost me heavily. There was no other work on the front wheels apart from wheel removal for alignment. The rear wheels required replacement of rotors and pads, and wheel alignment. When I was handed a bill of nearly $930, I was shocked. I got the price down based on our agreement of $350 from their website. The alignment, however, was charged at $85, which was $35 more than the website. The owner tried to justify the price by claiming he waived two hours of labor as it was 12:00 PM and I arrived at 8:10 AM, which was simply not true—the team didn’t even begin working on the brakes until around 10:30 AM, after parts were delivered. From what I observed, the actual work time was less than two hours. Also, that could have been less than an hour if the brake job on the rear wheel had been done. I had gone there based on a referral from Sam’s One Stop Auto, whose owner is a trusted friend. Back in August 2019, the same job (excluding alignment) on both front and rear brakes had cost me around $470. This experience was the exact opposite—unclear communication, questionable upcharges, and misleading explanations. Just to add, i received invoice but no pre and post inspection report on my car be it brakes, or wheel alignment. In hindsight, the shop should have just replaced the rear brakes and rotors, as originally needed, and left the front brakes alone. Instead, I left feeling misled, overcharged, and taken advantage of. I cannot recommend them based on this experience. Just for the owner, i personally wrote a reference for you on Honda Libertyville review and you let me down.

I recently visited for a wheel alignment, and I am compelled to share my negative experience. From the moment I walked in, I was met with an unprofessional attitude from the gentleman at the front desk, who wore glasses and was quite rude. After explaining my issue and requesting a wheel alignment, I was disappointed to find that there was no noticeable difference before and after the service. During a drive with the technician, he acknowledged that my car was still pulling to the right. However, despite this observation, he insisted that the computer diagnostics showed everything was "green." When I expressed my concerns, he simply stated that there was nothing else he could do and that he wouldn't attempt to fix it further. The situation escalated when he offered a refund, but in a dismissive manner, throwing the refund paperwork on the table and telling me, “Don’t come back again.” This experience was not only frustrating but also left me feeling disrespected as a customer. I expected better service and professionalism, and I would not recommend this shop based on my visit.

What a hidden gem this place is! I went in today for an alignment and had the best experience. I requested to have my engine splash guard installed on the car after the alignment. They were very accommodating to my request but unfortunately a coolant leak was also diagnosed during the alignment. I was walked into the back of the shop to be shown the problem with my car. Being a shop owners son I know what a good shop looks like and this place was great, clean, neat and organized. The mechanic working on my car was just as professional as Freddy. He kept my car clean and did not leave greasy fingerprints everywhere like some franchise mechanic shops are known to do. All in all, I came in for an alignment and the pricing and service was amazing. They do any and all repairs not just alignments, I would recommend this place to anyone. I will be back soon for sure.
