I recently visited Brockman’s Auto Service in Duncan, SC, and from the moment I walked in, I was treated like a valued customer. The team provided a warm welcome and maintained clear communication throughout the entire process. They offered detailed explanations of what was going on with my car (after running a diagnostic) and made sure all my needs were met. I was very satisfied with the service and will definitely be back. The staff were all incredibly helpful and respectful, and in the end, I needed a new valve & cap, Freon, which they handled seamlessly. Highly recommend!

On January 21st, I visited Brockman’s Service Shop and spoke with Mark regarding an issue with my vehicle’s ignition. I explained that my key was getting stuck in the ignition, which allowed me to turn off the engine but kept the battery running. The only way to remove the key was by disconnecting one of the battery posts. I inquired about the necessary steps to resolve the issue. However, from the beginning, Mark appeared disinterested in providing any explanations or assisting me in scheduling an appointment until I specifically requested one. Upon requesting an appointment for a diagnostic, he offered an 8:00 AM slot, to which I agreed. He instructed me to drop off my car the following day and assured me that I would receive a call around lunchtime with further details about the issue. The next day, I dropped off my vehicle and informed him that the key was still in the ignition, assuming they would promptly take it in for service, preventing the battery from draining. Mark asked if I planned to stay or leave and return later. I informed him that I would be leaving and returning later, and he acknowledged that, once again assuring me that I would receive a call by noon with an update. However, noon passed without any communication from the shop. Concerned, I called 30 minutes before closing, having received no updates. The staff member who answered the phone seemed confused, which raised my concerns further. He informed me that Mark had stepped out but would call me back within 15 minutes. Once again, I received no follow-up call. When I called the shop again, I was placed on hold, and upon returning to the line, Mark informed me that my car had not been serviced all day and that they were just now taking it in. He promised to call before leaving with an update, yet no such call was made. By this point, I was frustrated with the lack of communication and professionalism. I returned to the shop after work on Thursday to retrieve my vehicle. Mark provided a repair quote but did not explain the diagnostic results. He merely pointed out the required part listed on the paperwork and informed me that the total cost for repairs would be $744 if I chose to proceed. He stated that while I would not be charged for the repair at that time, I was required to pay the diagnostic fee of $156. I expressed my dissatisfaction, as I found it unreasonable to be charged for a diagnostic when I had not received timely updates and no explanation of the findings was provided. Despite my concerns, I was required to pay the full diagnostic fee without any consideration for the inconvenience I experienced. I would have been willing to pay the full diagnostic fee had the process been handled professionally, but it became clear that they took advantage of the fact that I am a woman and disregarded my concerns entirely. After settling the payment, I went to retrieve my vehicle only to find that it would not start, as the battery had been drained due to the key being left in the ignition. Overall, my experience at Brockman’s Service Shop was highly unprofessional and disappointing. The lack of communication, failure to provide timely updates, and disregard for customer satisfaction were unacceptable. I will not be returning to this establishment, and I advise others to exercise caution when considering their services, as their primary concern appears to be financial gain rather than customer service. *UPDATE* Funny how promises to “follow up” and “make things right” often turn into indefinite silence. Despite assurances, nothing has actually been done, which really makes you wonder if there was ever any real intention to begin with. It no longer matters; I simply wish to highlight the type of business on which you are wasting your time and money. But hey, maybe I’ll hear back—eventually. Could be next week, could be next year. At this point, who’s to say?

Game changer! I excellent experience. Local repair shop that treats you like family. Warm, welcoming and very thorough and knowledgeable. It was very clean. They diagnosed my problem within minutes and resolved my repair issues quickly and engaged me every step of the diagnostic process. I highly recommend this repair shop for everything from oil change to transmission. They have a new customer for life!

Customer for at least two years. Called two weeks ago to set an appointment for this morning. When we arrived just after 0800 there were two employees by a computer. The man said he would be with us in a moment. We were then asked by the woman if we had a drop-off, and we answered we did. She then asked us if we had ever been there before and added she could not see an appointment and asked what we needed. I said that I needed "a brake inspection and associated repairs". It was then that I requested a call with what work was going to be done with estimate. My wife followed up with verifying what number to call. We never got that call, nor did we get advised that the work was completed until I called six hours later. The brakes and rotors had been changed and the total was at the high end for this type of service, especially labor, but that is not my main concern. It was the lack of attention to details from our conversation and the associated poor Customer Service. When we addressed this while picking up the vehicle, it was indicated that, "Mark was not there", and they were filling in? It was at that point we were asked, "What can we do to make this right?" How do you answer that when you are on the hook for an expensive brake job because it was done without verifying an estimated price that was acceptable? Be that as it may, we left feeling we were treated poorly and paid a premium for it.

2022 Ram- 2500; towed in- bad starter Absolute joy to work with. I was informed of the issue, estimated costs and worked with the 3rd party warranty group on my behalf. Got my truck back correctly working, cleaned and wiped down of any repair activities that took place. I wished dealers were this detailed and comprehensive. Also the afterhours drop off And pick-up lockers are a nice touch for those of us with busy schedules. Looking forward to sending my truck back for some PM care.
