Brake Masters #228 Introduce

For local users in Tucson, Arizona, selecting a reliable auto repair station is essential for ensuring vehicle safety and performance. Brake Masters #228, located at 1714 W Speedway Blvd, operates within the category of Auto Repair Stations, offering a range of services and potentially goods related to vehicle maintenance and repair. This introduction aims to provide a detailed and objective overview of this specific Brake Masters location based on the available customer feedback, highlighting both positive and negative experiences to help local users make informed decisions.

Brake Masters is a recognized chain of auto repair shops specializing in brake services but often extending to other general maintenance and repair work. The location at 1714 W Speedway Blvd in Tucson aims to serve the local community with these automotive needs. As an auto repair station, it is expected to provide services such as brake repairs, oil changes, tire services, and general vehicle inspections.

The customer reviews for Brake Masters #228 present a concerning pattern regarding the thoroughness and reliability of some basic services, particularly tire-related services. Multiple reviewers reported issues with tire inflation and rotation. One customer explicitly stated that despite requesting a tire fill and rotation and even noting the initial pressure of one tire, they left with the same tire at the initial pressure and other tires still at low pressure, indicating that the requested service was not performed. This customer also mentioned that this was not an isolated incident, having occurred to them and their wife previously, raising significant questions about the consistency of service delivery for tire maintenance.

Another reviewer echoed these concerns, stating that the location "cuts corners like crazy," specifically mentioning the failure to check tire pressures despite the ease of verification with tire pressure sensors in modern vehicles. This led to the customer vowing not to return to Brake Masters, indicating a severe lack of trust in the services provided. Similarly, another review simply stated that they were told their tire pressure was checked and fine, when in reality, it was not.

In contrast to these negative experiences with tire services, one reviewer reported a positive experience with a "quick oil change," noting that they were "in and out super fast." This suggests that for some specific services, the location may offer efficiency. However, this positive feedback is overshadowed by the recurring issues related to tire maintenance reported by multiple customers.

Further compounding the concerns, another customer who specifically asked for their visibly low tire to be checked and topped off was shown an inspection sheet claiming all tires were at 35 psi, only to find upon returning to their car that the tires had not been filled. This discrepancy between the reported service and the actual outcome raises serious questions about the accuracy and reliability of their inspections and service execution.

Even when an issue was brought to their attention immediately after payment, as in the case of the customer who found their tires were not filled, the resolution was a quick fill-up in the parking lot with a suggestion to check for punctures. While the immediate action might seem helpful, the fact that the service was not performed correctly initially and the subsequent skepticism about the thoroughness of inspections remain significant issues.

Based on these reviews, the environment and features of Brake Masters #228 are difficult to assess positively. While they may present themselves as a standard auto repair station offering various services, the repeated failures in basic tire maintenance and the discrepancies between reported and actual services indicate potential shortcomings in their operational procedures or quality control. The "quick oil change" suggests efficiency might be a feature for some services, but this is overshadowed by the lack of reliability in other areas.

The services offered at Brake Masters #228 likely include:

  • Brake Services: Given the name, brake repairs and maintenance are likely a primary focus.
  • Oil Changes: As indicated by one customer's experience.
  • Tire Services: Including tire rotation, inflation, and potentially tire sales and balancing, although the reviews raise concerns about the reliability of these services.
  • General Inspections: While offered, the accuracy and thoroughness of these inspections are questioned by customer experiences.
  • Other General Auto Repair: Such as fluid checks, battery service, etc., although there is no specific feedback on these services.

The repeated failures in basic services like tire inflation and rotation raise concerns about the overall quality and attention to detail across all their service offerings.

Features typically associated with auto repair stations, such as certified mechanics, warranties, or customer waiting areas, are not mentioned in the provided reviews. The focus of the feedback is primarily on the service execution and accuracy. The negative experiences suggest a potential lack of attention to detail or quality control in certain areas, which could erode customer trust.

Promotional information for Brake Masters #228 is not included in the provided data. Brake Masters as a chain may offer various promotions, but whether this specific location participates in them or has its own local offers is unknown. Local users would need to contact the store directly or check the Brake Masters website for any potential discounts or specials.

In conclusion, the customer reviews for Brake Masters #228 at 1714 W Speedway Blvd in Tucson paint a concerning picture regarding the reliability and thoroughness of their services, particularly concerning tire maintenance. Multiple customers reported instances where requested tire services were not performed correctly or at all, and there were discrepancies between reported inspections and the actual condition of their vehicles. While one customer reported a quick oil change, the recurring negative feedback regarding basic services like tire inflation and rotation raises significant red flags about the quality control and attention to detail at this location. Local users in Tucson should exercise caution and consider these experiences when deciding whether to use Brake Masters #228 for their auto repair needs. It would be prudent to seek further information or consider alternative auto repair stations with more consistently positive customer feedback, especially for services like tire maintenance and general inspections where concerns have been raised.

Brake Masters #228 Customer Reviews

I requested to have my tires filled and rotated. My front driver's side tire was 36 psi and I only filled that one right before I came in because I was testing my new air compressor. When I left my front left tire was still 36psi and all my other tires were still low pressure, indicating they didn't fill them and didn't rotate them. This is the second time this has happened to me and has happened to my wife as well. I paid for a full service and did not receive a full service. It takes you less than 5 minutes to fill and rotate them. This is basic stuff. The people at this location cut corners like crazy. With tire pressure sensors in new vehicles, you guys are ridiculous for not doing this when it can be so easily verified. I am not coming to brake masters again.

Was told my tire pressure was checked and fine, when it was not checked and fine… I went for a quick oil change today. I was in and out super fast. A couple days ago I had noticed visually that one of my tires was low and just asked them to check and top them off. The person at the desk said they took care of it and showed me an inspection sheet that said all my tires were showing 35 psi. Got to my car after paying and saw that they did not fill up the air in my tires. The had me pull up and they quickly filled it, and said I should get it checked for a thorn or nail… It’s not a major thing, but now I am skeptical that they are actually doing the inspections they claim.

My check engine light came on 11/10, on 11/12 I had a diagnostic test performed at the AutoZone telling me it was the purge valve and needed replaced. I Booked an appointment for Brake Masters on 11/13 for 11/14 at 930 am. Spoke with Marco on 11/14 at 930am, he said they needed to perform their own diagnostics test for $160.00. I advised we were already aware of the issue. He said to leave it with him and he would call in a couple of hours. If it turned out to be the same issue, he would discount the diagnostic testing price and provide a price for the service. I reluctantly agreed to allow this. After 4hours I had to call to see what was going on. Although he knew at drop off, that my husband had to be at work in the afternoon, they had not even started the diagnostic process at this time (130pm). Marco advised me again it would take a couple of hours. After some time had passed, I called back, again; 2 hours and 15mins later to be advised he would call me back in 15mins as they were putting together the pricing for the service. When he called back, he said the diagnostics said its fine, but that they can replace the purge valve anyway, if I would like for $366. As I questioned, why it had taken so long, why they were offering to replace the part if it said it was fine, what was wrong instead? and the fact I had to chase down the progress all day, that should not have taken that long, we were told the purge valve failed the first two tests but passed the third. So they could replace it if I wanted but the cost would be as discussed with a full diagnostic charge. At this point, I realized I was dealing with someone trying to scam me out of more money. The exact reason (purge valve) that I brought in was discovered, but I had lost over 6 hours of time, my husband would miss work and income and we were still being told we were going to pay full price for the diagnostics that did not need to be performed in the first place, plus the service. The bill was ultimately discounted 60 dollars down to $306, however, this still feels like absolute robbery; Considering I advised of the issue from the start, it could have just been fixed, we lost all that time, money, income and to charge us for the diagnostic testing at all; is insane. Since the purge valve was the issue to begin with. I would like a manager to contact me! I will also be calling to follow up. We have used this Brake Masters for many years and always been done right, always loved the service. Never did I ever, think they would do us this way. Honestly!

Went in for an alignment after doing some suspension work, turned out it was already good and didn’t charge me anything for looking

Excellent service. I heard a squicking brake noise. I went in, not knowing what to expect. They explained in detail what needed to be done and showed me why. I was extremely grateful for their understanding, listening to my concern and patience with me.
