On Friday of the previous week, I purchased a set of lower control arms for a 2012 Scion xB. It was a very busy time at the store, and the manager assisting me took around 15–20 minutes to get the parts. I trusted the parts were correct and did not inspect the boxes myself, assuming they had already been checked. Yesterday, I went to install the parts and realized both control arms were for the driver’s side. The box labeled for the passenger side contained a clearly used and scratched driver-side control arm in an open bag. It appears this was a returned part that had not been verified before being restocked. When I returned to the store to resolve the issue, I was met with hostility and resistance. Rather than assisting me, the staff questioned my integrity and implied that I might have swapped the part myself. One employee lectured me about how she always shows customers the parts beforehand. I repeatedly explained that I simply wanted the correct part ordered. She continued to belittle me and told me to “turn it down a notch,” saying she never called me a liar—but her tone and comments clearly made it seem otherwise. Even after her coworker suggested exchanging the part, she still refused to place an order and dismissively asked, “What do you want me to do?” After trying to explain again that I wanted her to order the correct part, she refused. At that point, I gave up, left the part at their store and walked out. It was no longer about the part or the money—I was just fed up with the way I was treated. I have been a long-time AutoZone customer and have never experienced anything like this. I would appreciate it if someone could follow up on this situation.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE/STORE EVER!!! I went into the store just before 8:30 in the morning and it took over 10 minutes to checkout and get my car scanned, which I ended up doing myself. There were at least 5 people pulling online orders or whatnot while having 1 cashier and 4-5 customers to deal with. I wasn’t asked for my phone number when I brought up my item for purchase and I wasn’t given a receipt. I scanned my own car, brought the device back into the store so I could get the report AND receipt. Auto Zone has been my go to for auto parts, but this store is horrible!!! I will be sure to go to one of the others in the area moving forward.

Last week I went in for an exhaust flange gasket. Thought they sold me the right one but they did went in to try to find one the same or compatible and couldn’t find one so I tried to return the one that was $19 dollars and manger was rude and stated she’s not returning it without a receipt. Crazy because I’ve spent thousands with you guys last year just to be judged honestly over a $19 dollar gasket 🤣 does bug me I would’ve thrown it away if I didn’t return. I just was already there.

I came in because I had a check engine light. I was told to go stand in the middle after I stood at the register where nobody was standing. Then once I was acknowledged, I was asked to come back to the register. I let them know that I had a check engine light and I was hoping they could scan for the code. They told me they don’t do that. After a few minutes of confusion, they said oh you have a check engine light and I replied well yes I do and they said oh well we do those. I had asked what I had said wrong and they just looked at me and handed me the machine and said I will show you how to do it yourself and once you figure it out you can come back into me and we can figure out what’s going on together. I have never ever ever been treated like that at an auto parts store let alone anywhere I’ve ever been. I came to you for specifically what you do and you treated me like I was an idiot and even tried to get me to do your job for you. Unbelievable; I will be filing a complaint with the BBB as well as your superior. All three of you should be ashamed of yourself.
