Aurora Autoworks/Car Art, located at 39025 Warren Rd, Westland, MI 48185, USA, operates within the Auto Repair Stations category with a specialized focus on classic car restoration, custom automotive work, and auto body repair. This establishment aims to cater to enthusiasts and owners of both classic and newer vehicles seeking high-quality craftsmanship and aesthetic enhancement. For inquiries, customers can contact them at (734) 550-6481 or via mobile at +1 734-550-6481.
The **environment** of Aurora Autoworks/Car Art is described in highly contrasting terms by customers. On one hand, it is portrayed as the "CLEANEST state of the art facility I've EVER seen," a "very epic shop," and a "hot rod shop" where the owner has "some of the baddest car's I've ever seen." This suggests a facility that is well-maintained, equipped for high-level automotive projects, and potentially showcases custom vehicles. The invitation to "Stop in and ask for a tour" further implies a visually impressive and organized workspace dedicated to automotive artistry and restoration. This perception points to a shop designed to handle intricate bodywork, custom fabrication, and painting, likely featuring specialized tools and clean rooms necessary for high-quality finishes, especially on classic vehicles. The atmosphere, from this perspective, would be one of passion for cars and a dedication to craftsmanship.
However, an opposing perspective on the environment emerges from other reviews, which, while not directly describing the physical space, imply an underlying operational environment marked by disorganization, financial instability, and potentially questionable business practices. These comments suggest that the apparent "front and a show" might conceal operational issues, long project delays, and a problematic internal environment for employees. Therefore, while the physical appearance might be state-of-the-art, the operational and financial environment described by some could be perceived as volatile or unreliable, which could impact the overall customer experience and project timelines.
The **services** offered by Aurora Autoworks/Car Art, as indicated by the reviews, are primarily focused on:
- **Classic Car Restoration:** This is a major specialization, encompassing comprehensive rebuilds, metal work, frame work, body panel repair and replacement, and painting to bring vintage vehicles back to their "former glory."
- **Auto Body Repair:** Addressing damage from collisions, dents, and imperfections. This includes techniques like body filler application, priming, and painting.
- **Custom Car Work/Hot Rod Builds:** The "Car Art" designation and "hot rod shop" references suggest capabilities in custom fabrication, modifications, and building high-performance or uniquely styled vehicles.
- **Paint Services:** High-quality painting, though the method and materials used are subject to debate among reviewers.
The **features** of Aurora Autoworks/Car Art are subject to highly polarized customer experiences, making an objective presentation crucial:
- **Perceived Quality of Work (Contrasting Views):**
- **Positive View:** Some customers laud the "Quality and timing on builds" and state, "If you want it done right take your classic car hear." They believe the shop delivers superior work, especially for classics, compared to other shops.
- **Negative View:** Other reviewers, identifying themselves as certified collision techs, vehemently disagree. They claim "The quality is poor unless it's his cars," citing issues like "20 layers of filler," "poorly painted and repaired" work, and "points of failure from materials to longevity." They criticize the use of "acid etch primer" instead of "rust killer" and poor finishing practices (e.g., leaving trim on during painting).
- **Project Timelines (Contrasting Views):**
- **Positive View:** "Quality and timing on builds" is praised, and one person mentions being able to "get time with him" and have the car "done within a week and a half" (though this specific quote is from a different business's review in the provided context, the general idea of timeliness is present). Another review mentions "timely manor" for completion.
- **Negative View:** A major complaint is that the owner "will rob your money and keep your car 2 years with nothing to sho." This starkly contrasts with the idea of efficient turnaround, suggesting severe delays and unfulfilled promises. The comparison "2 years vs what I did in 5 days show skill" further highlights this discrepancy.
- **Owner/Staff Demeanor (Contrasting Views):**
- **Positive View:** "The owner is as Cool as they get. He is always helping people." This portrays a friendly, approachable, and helpful individual.
- **Negative View:** Conversely, the owner is labeled as a "narcissist type shop owner" who "smile in yo face run mouth behind back." This indicates a perceived lack of integrity and professionalism in personal interactions.
- **Pricing and Financial Practices (Highly Negative View):** This is a significant point of contention. One reviewer, an alleged former employee, claims "short pays and then cancels what he did pay" for labor, citing a case of being paid only $700 out of $5500 for a significant amount of work. Accusations of living "on credit cards" and being "unprofessional past the money" are made. This raises serious concerns about financial transparency and fair compensation, which could indirectly affect project completion and customer trust.
- **Facility Appearance (Positive View):** The "CLEANEST state of the art facility" is a strong positive feature, suggesting a high-end physical environment for specialized work.
Regarding **promotional information**, the provided customer reviews do not contain any explicit details about ongoing promotions, discounts, or special offers from Aurora Autoworks/Car Art. Given the highly specialized nature of classic car restoration and custom work, conventional promotional strategies like percentage-off discounts are less common than in general repair shops. Instead, the "promotion" for such businesses typically relies heavily on reputation, showcased work (often via social media or in-person tours of completed projects), and word-of-mouth referrals. The conflicting reviews make it difficult to ascertain a consistent promotional strategy beyond the general claim of quality work for classic cars. The highly polarized feedback suggests that potential customers would need to contact the shop directly at (734) 550-6481 to discuss their specific project needs, pricing structure, and estimated timelines. Due to the severe discrepancies in reported experiences, it would be prudent for customers to request detailed written quotes, clarify payment terms, and understand the expected duration of work before committing to any project with this establishment.
In conclusion, Aurora Autoworks/Car Art in Westland, MI, positions itself as a specialist in classic car restoration and auto body work within the Auto Repair Stations category. It is described by some as a state-of-the-art facility providing high-quality craftsmanship for classic and custom vehicles, with an owner passionate about cars. However, this positive portrayal is heavily contradicted by severe negative feedback from other reviewers, including an alleged former employee, who raise significant concerns about inconsistent quality, prolonged project timelines (up to two years), alleged financial misconduct (short-paying labor, cancelled checks), and unprofessional conduct from the owner. While the facility may appear impressive, the operational integrity and customer experience are highly debated. Potential customers considering Aurora Autoworks/Car Art, especially for complex and high-value classic car restoration projects, are strongly advised to conduct thorough due diligence, seek detailed written agreements, and exercise extreme caution due to the highly polarized and concerning nature of the available public feedback.

Update 4 29 24 hr canceled the check. I went to PNC they couldn't cash it. Says needs to be reissues. To the techs. Don't ever work for this man. If your in need of work. He will run you dry as in controle factors. Then short pays and the cancels what he did pay. Now bills are way behind bank is negative. People like this should not own shops. Sick of these fakes. Update 2 24 24. Unfortunately this guy is like the rest of the narcissist type shop owners. Smile in yo face run mouth behind back. Skill recognizes skill. I'm a state certified collision tech. I car and 20 years. This guy will rob your money and keep your car 2 years. Says it's a 3 million a year shop lol. But he lives on credit cards. If you want 20 layers of filler primeore filler and prime. Go hear. If you want real work with less materials to cause reaction in future don't go hear. Then he riped me off labor big time. 215 hrs he cut me a check for only 700 lol. Hope it clears my bank chase. Well I thought highly like most do .but it's all a front and a show. Do yourself a solid a find a real shop or tech to repair your classics to it's formor Glory. The quality is poor unless it's his cars. But the take a real good look at his cars and you will see all the points of failure from materials to longevity. The don't have rust killer they use acid etch primer. It's not the same. Very unprofessional past the money. He can keep my labor. I'm a combo tech graduated in Automotive technology state certified I car own tool. And I do this at home in my shop with better quality and way faster. 5 days I knocked out the worst car in his shop. Was painted and repaired very poorly.roof was hit by tree 1uarthler was smashed. There was no door gap on drivers side. I repaired as I was told to do. But then only got paid 1000 out of 5500 in labor that this man asked a pro to fix. I told him I can't do it wrong. Anyways. Good luck on you classics. Just don't take the hear. 2 years vs what I did in 5 days show skill and the sideways restoration shops vs what we do in collision. We repair cars and prime once. The right way. Fix the metal so less filler. Less work right 馃槀. People are cute when stuck in they old ways that don't work in the long term. Your car will peal and he leaves trim handles and stuff on your car. But charges 40000 lol. Hit me up Bespoke technologies if you want real quality that don't take a lifetime. The rest of this post is old and dated and not true. Very epic shop and the owner loves what he does. Mainly classics with a mix of new cars. If you want it done right take your classic car hear. All other classic restoration shops in area don't have techs that are good fast and not keeping your car for years with nothing to sho. I'm a collision tech I get around and lastly I've been searching and interviewing shops and a mix of restoration shops. Nothing compares to this man's facility. Quality and timing on builds.lies I Did some frame work and metal work there last year. I just happened to be causing by today Sunday and seen him pulling out his fast back. So I stopped in to catch up. Then goigle wanted a review so hear it is 馃槅. Godless in Jesus name. This is the shop I'd take my classics in all downriver js. Never in my life. Will I go back to this mans shop. Only to lay down some rolling smoke lol. Those are my burn out holes lol. Iny trans am that I BUILT. NOT BOUGHT. If you want to see your car done right and in a timely manor. Call him for details. They are super busy so I'd say appointments only. But give them a shout.
