Archer's Transmission & Auto Repair Introduce

Archer's Transmission & Auto Repair, located at 5552 Trade St, Hope Mills, NC 28348, USA, falls under the category of Auto Repair Stations, offering various services and goods for sale related to vehicle maintenance and repair. Their primary focus, as their name suggests, is on transmission services, including rebuilds, alongside general auto repairs and computer scanning. They can be reached via phone at (910) 568-5349 or mobile at +1 910-568-5349.

As an auto repair station, Archer's Transmission & Auto Repair positions itself to handle a range of automotive issues, with a specialized emphasis on transmissions. This includes work on rear-wheel drive, front-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive vehicles. The business aims to diagnose problems quickly and efficiently, as stated in some of their business descriptions, to get customers back on the road. Services typically found at such an establishment include diagnosing vehicle problems, conducting repairs, and potentially offering parts for sale related to those repairs.

The environment of an auto repair station like Archer's Transmission & Auto Repair would typically involve a service bay area for vehicle work, an office or reception area for customer interactions, and possibly a waiting area. The specific atmosphere and physical condition of the premises are not detailed in the provided information. However, the interactions described by customers largely focus on the service quality and communication rather than the physical environment itself.

The services offered include, but are not limited to, transmission rebuilds and general auto repairs. One positive customer review highlights a transmission rebuild for a 2009 Silverado 4x4, completed within 2.5 days at a competitive price, and reportedly came with a three-year warranty. This suggests that Archer's is capable of complex mechanical work and aims for quick turnaround times for certain services. The willingness to recommend fixing another issue while the transmission was out indicates a potential for comprehensive service and an attempt to address broader vehicle health. Computer scanning, a vital diagnostic tool in modern vehicles, is also listed as a service, allowing for identification of electronic faults.

However, the customer experiences provided present a mixed and largely critical picture. One extensive review details significant issues, including prolonged service times, alleged unrelated damages, and problems with warranty claims. The customer reported that their car was kept for "months," with various excuses for delays. Following a transmission rebuild, the vehicle reportedly developed "even more issues." The warranty process was also described as involving "more excuses and lies." This customer's experience escalated to needing the truck towed back for a camshaft replacement less than four months after the initial transmission repair, which again took weeks to resolve. Further, the transmission reportedly failed again five months later, at which point the shop was closed. The customer struggled to make contact and eventually towed the vehicle to another shop, where it was determined that the original transmission repair used "wrong parts," leading to failure in less than 2,000 miles. This lengthy and highly negative account suggests significant concerns regarding the quality of repairs, adherence to timelines, and honoring of warranties.

The features of Archer's Transmission & Auto Repair, based on the combined information, present a dichotomy. On one hand, there's a positive account of quick service, competitive pricing, and a substantial warranty. On the other hand, the detailed negative review casts doubt on the reliability of repairs, the consistency of service delivery, communication, and the enforceability of warranties. The availability of specialized transmission work and the ability to perform general auto repairs are key features. The stated offer of a 3-year warranty, if honored, would be a strong selling point, indicative of confidence in their work. However, the experience of the critical customer strongly contradicts this positive aspect, suggesting a significant gap between promised features and actual delivery.

Promotional information for Archer's Transmission & Auto Repair would ideally highlight their core services, such as transmission rebuilds and general auto repair, emphasizing their speed, competitive pricing, and any warranties offered. The positive review mentioning "very fast and friendly" service, competitive pricing, and a "3 year warranty" could be used to attract customers looking for these specific qualities. They might promote their capabilities with various drive types (rear-wheel, front-wheel, all-wheel drive) and their diagnostic services. However, any promotional claims would need to be considered in light of the highly critical customer feedback, which details unfulfilled promises, lengthy delays, and alleged improper repairs that led to further vehicle failure. For potential customers, it would be important to weigh these contrasting experiences and perhaps seek further, current information to make an informed decision.

Given the significant discrepancy in customer experiences, with one glowing review contrasting sharply with a detailed account of multiple failures and poor service, local users should exercise caution. While the promise of fast, friendly service and a long warranty is appealing, the consistent issues reported in the negative review regarding repair quality, communication, and warranty adherence are serious concerns. The ultimate closure of the shop, as reported by one customer, and the subsequent difficulty in contact, are also critical pieces of information for anyone considering their services. Before engaging with Archer's Transmission & Auto Repair, especially for significant repairs like transmission work, it would be prudent for local users to conduct thorough due diligence, including checking recent operational status and seeking a broad range of contemporary customer feedback.

Archer's Transmission & Auto Repair Customer Reviews

Rebuilt my transmission for $1800. Had minor issues before he worked on it. Got it back and had even more issues after he completed the work and unrelated damages. Kept my car for months. Always a different excuse why he was not able to get started on it. And as far as the warranty, more excuses and lies. If you meet him face to face and talk to him for two minutes, you will understand why you should not trust this guy to work on your car. He will give you an answer for everything. Trust what your instinct if you meet him.. The walk away! But if you are a risk taker and can be without you car for a LONG time, by all mean....roll the dice. Remember this quote, " It is what it is " , because you're going to hear it alot from him when he is explaining why your car is not ready. You have been warn.

Update: less than 4 months after getting my truck transmission repaired I had to tow it back. It sat at his shop for over a month before needing told that the camshaft needed to be replaced. Once I told that it took another 2 or 3 weeks and serval phone calls and a trip to the shop to get it repaired due to landlord issues. 5 months later ( the week of Christmas ) my transmission started to fail again. By this time the shop had CLOSED and I had to call 3 different numbers and finally got him on the phone. I was told that he was relocating his shop and would be up and running by the end of January 2023. I waited until the end of January and tried to make contact but was unable. I continued to try to contact Mr Archer until the end of February and was unsuccessful. I ended up towing it to another shop who had to replace the entire transmission and stayed that the wrong parts where used and that’s why my transmission failed in less than 2k miles😠 All I can say is WOW!! Mr Archer was very fast and friendly. He didn’t waste anytime with getting my 09 Silverado 4x4 back on the rd. The job was completed in 2.5 days and he recommended I fix another issue while the transmission was out. No one that I called or that was recommended came close to his price and the repair came with a 3 year warranty.

Mr. archer was very honest with me about the situation with my truck. He did a great job in a timely manner. My vehicle is running well and the transmission is running great. I highly Recommend Mr. archer for any transmission service.

If when looking for a mechanic to service, repair or exchange your transmission and you come across this shop please please run the other way. This business was located on Eastern Boulevard in Fayetteville NC in 2022 when I had my car towed to his shop. He charged me $2000.00 .I had to take it back less than a week later because it was knocking and shifting hard into gear. He made it bearable for a few months. When I tried to contact again his shop was gone and he wouldn't answer his phone. I finally got in touch with him back in May of 2023 and reminded him he gave me a3 year warranty. He then said give him a month or two as he was trying to set up shop in Hope Mills. He quit answering my calls so I went to his house/shop he gave me this sad story where he blamed the city of Fayetteville, the United States of America, and China. I told him that the entities he mentioned did not work on my car. He then said there was nothing he could do. He's nothing but a con man. Please STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY!!!

Stay as far away from this place as possible. You would have better odds of fixing your transmission by going to the junkyard across the street and grabbing one there. Actually, I believe that's exactly where Mr archer gets his "new" parts. Now I'm stuck with a broken truck and out about 2 grand because this guy refuses to do the job I paid him to do and makes a ton of excuses as to its my cooling system causing my transmission not to shift gears.
