Advance Auto Parts Introduce

Welcome to Advance Auto Parts, situated at 6937 Gratiot Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609. As a prominent member of the Auto Repair Stations category, Advance Auto Parts primarily functions as a retail store offering a wide selection of automotive parts, accessories, batteries, and various other goods necessary for vehicle maintenance and repair. While not a traditional service garage, they do offer certain in-store services and also act as a UPS drop-off location, extending their utility to local users beyond just the sale of auto components.

Based on the limited customer feedback available, it is challenging to provide a comprehensive overview of the store's environment. One customer described an interaction where a staff member with a mustache was unwilling to install a car battery located under the seat, citing the ease of access compared to under the hood. This suggests that while they may offer battery sales, installation service can be inconsistent or dependent on the staff member and the perceived difficulty of the task. The same reviewer also noted the staff member's rude demeanor, lack of communication during battery testing, and an apparent disinterest in providing service, possibly due to the approaching closing time or the cold weather. This paints a picture of potentially inconsistent customer service within the store.

Conversely, another customer highlighted Advance Auto Parts as an authorized UPS drop-off access point, which they found particularly convenient due to the store's late operating hours compared to dedicated UPS or postal service locations. This indicates that Advance Auto Parts offers a valuable service by accepting prepaid UPS Ground packages, including those containing auto parts being sold by individuals. This can be a significant benefit for local residents and small-time sellers who require a convenient and extended-hour drop-off option for their shipments.

However, the experience with the UPS drop-off service was also marred by issues with a specific employee, described as a "bigger fella with a big ego of customer service concern." This employee reportedly exhibited negative body language, provided no verbal greeting, and seemed displeased with the UPS program. The reviewer alleged that this employee had refused to accept medium to large-sized prepaid packages, including a set of door panels, despite the understanding that UPS accepts such packages within their standard weight and size limits. The employee also reportedly mocked "Fragile" or "Handle with care" labels and falsely claimed that UPS does not accept larger packages. This behavior led the customer to have negative experiences and eventually avoid this particular Advance Auto Parts location for UPS drop-offs, opting for a further store with better service.

Furthermore, the same reviewer mentioned instances where, even when purchasing parts, this particular employee was unhelpful, providing part numbers but not retrieving the items from the shelves, seemingly considering it beneath them. This behavior was also reportedly being taught to new employees, suggesting a systemic issue with customer service standards at this specific Saginaw location.

Given these reviews, the services offered at this Advance Auto Parts location can be summarized as:

  • Retail Sale of Auto Parts: Offering a wide variety of automotive components, accessories, and batteries.
  • Battery Testing and Sales: Providing the service of testing car batteries and selling replacements. However, installation may be inconsistent.
  • UPS Drop-off Access Point: Accepting prepaid UPS Ground packages for shipment. However, the experience can be negatively impacted by certain staff members.

The features of this Advance Auto Parts store, based on the available feedback, present a mixed picture:

  • Convenient Location: Situated on Gratiot Rd in Saginaw, making it accessible to local residents.
  • Extended Hours (Implied): Open later than some other shipping drop-off locations, which is beneficial for UPS customers.
  • Wide Range of Auto Parts: Likely stocks a comprehensive selection of items for various makes and models.
  • Potential for Inconsistent Customer Service: Experiences vary significantly depending on the staff member encountered, with reports of rudeness and unwillingness to assist with basic services like battery installation or accepting UPS packages.
  • UPS Drop-off Program Issues: The implementation of the UPS service seems to be negatively affected by at least one employee who appears to resent the program and misrepresents UPS policies.

There is no promotional information available in the provided text. Advance Auto Parts as a national chain frequently offers various promotions, discounts, and loyalty programs. Local users are encouraged to check the Advance Auto Parts website or inquire in-store about any current sales, coupons, or membership benefits that may be available at the Saginaw location. These could include discounts on specific parts, seasonal promotions, or rewards for repeat purchases.

In conclusion, Advance Auto Parts at 6937 Gratiot Rd in Saginaw, MI, serves primarily as a retail outlet for auto parts and accessories. While they offer the convenience of a UPS drop-off service and may provide basic services like battery testing and sales, the customer feedback raises significant concerns about the consistency and quality of customer service at this particular location. Reports of unhelpful and rude staff, particularly regarding battery installation and the handling of UPS packages, should be taken into consideration by local users. While the store may offer a wide selection of parts and the benefit of late-hour UPS drop-offs, potential customers should be prepared for the possibility of encountering uncooperative staff. It would be prudent to inquire about service policies and current promotions directly with the store management to ensure a satisfactory experience. As with any retail establishment, service quality can vary, and the experiences shared by these customers highlight the importance of consistent and positive customer interactions.

Advance Auto Parts Customer Reviews

Went to get a battery in another one of my vehicles and guy with mustache wouldn't put it in because it was under seat which was easier to get to then under hood. Guy was rude. Knew I needed jump to get car going and expected me to put it in without any tools. He wouldn't talk when he tested it or tell me anything. He didn't want my business either because it was cold or an hour before they closed.

This Advance Auto Parts is an authorized UPS drop-off access point location. On occasion, I will bring packages to this location to drop off my prepaid UPS Ground packages that contain auto parts that I sell in my spare time. It is nice that Advance Auto offers this service especially being open late beyond the time frame of the UPS store or other drop-off locations. Lately though, I've encountered issues with this location especially with one specific employee. I don't know his name but he's a bigger fella with a big ego of customer service concern. Lately, he gives me trouble with dropping off my UPS prepaid packages. It is my understanding that UPS will accept any prepaid packages as long as they are prepaid labels within their weight and size parameters which mine always are. When I walk in this store with my hands full of packages, I say hello and I am greated with a blank stare of disgust and absolutely no verbal response from this individual. He says nothing but his body language insinuates "why are you here?". It is very apparent that this individual does not like Advance Auto's UPS program. He has mentioned that he feels that UPS should be paying them extra for their service of having to handle their packages. He will not take my medium to large size boxes. He has outright denied a package that contained a set of door panels that I was shipping. He has made fun of the fact that I write "Fragile" or "Handle with care" on my packages. He has stated that UPS does not care about that and that it means absolutely nothing to anyone. He has lied to me stating that UPS will not take larger packages on their trucks so he does not want them there. Medium and larger packages is what UPS is all about. Believe me, they take them. If I were shipping small, I would use the post office. I had shipped a convertible roof for a Pontiac Solstice through UPS and sent it out through another Access Point location and had absolutely zero issues. If I bring a steering rack or set of hubcap packages here to this location, this guy gives me a hard time every single time not wanting them. Even worse, this guy trains the new employees just the same. So all said and done, you have a whole team of people who now give a mis-service to your customers. It's unfortunately came down to the point where I simply cannot come here. I already drive 30min just to drop off a few packages which I now have to travel further to another Advance location where they give me no trouble at all. I've bought parts at times of dropping off packages and he is often rude and will look up a part, but seems too high of stature to get it for me and will ramble off the part # for me to find in the store instead. I hope whoever is reading and responding to this will bring this to the attention to whomever owns this store because as a business owner, this is important and needs addressed for the sake of your business and customers. Clearly, this is not something that Advance Auto Parts would value or promotes for their customers. It's just overall really disappointing when your business has a great service available but your employees are totally disinterested, inconvenienced, and misguiding when it comes to offering it. Thank you for your time.

Went in to buy windshield wipers and had a horrible experience. The attitude and the unprofessional conduct by the woman working there was uncalled for. If you do not know what you are doing working at a parts store you shouldn’t be working there.

Great service and prices. My wife's battery was acting up so we stopped in. The manager ran a diagnosis to be sure the battery was the issue, he then gave me an in- store discount to match the online discount. He installed the new battery, took the old one and applied the core return. Easiest battery switch ever
