Actions Auto & Truck Parts Introduce

Actions Auto & Truck Parts, located at 4301 E Illinois St, Tucson, AZ 85714, USA, is an establishment operating within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, specifically focusing on providing automotive and truck parts. While the overarching category might suggest a general repair facility, the reviews indicate its primary function as a salvage yard or parts supplier for vehicles. It aims to serve the local community's needs for various auto components, often those that are used or harder to find, typically sourced from salvaged vehicles.

Environment and Atmosphere

The environment at Actions Auto & Truck Parts, based on customer accounts, appears to be one that can be challenging and frustrating for visitors. The description of the office experience suggests a lack of efficiency and transparency. A customer reported waiting for extended periods while a staff member "slogged through some website" and showed pictures that were not reflective of on-site inventory. This points to a potentially disorganized or slow process for checking part availability. The atmosphere, at least from the perspective of frustrated customers, can be one of confusion and distrust, where information provided over the phone or online does not align with the reality upon a physical visit.

Customer service interactions, as described in the reviews, significantly impact the atmosphere. One review characterizes a staff member as "sounding as if his life wasn't worth living" and making the caller feel like an "inconvenience." This indicates a potentially unwelcoming or unhelpful phone demeanor, which can set a negative tone before a customer even visits the physical location. The reported instances of unreturned calls, calls not properly ended, and frustration from staff further contribute to a less than ideal customer service environment.

The physical setting of a salvage yard typically involves rows of vehicles and stacks of parts, which can inherently be less polished than a retail auto parts store. However, the issues highlighted in the reviews point more to operational and interpersonal shortcomings rather than just the typical appearance of such a facility.

Services Offered

Actions Auto & Truck Parts primarily offers auto and truck parts, likely specializing in used or salvaged components. Based on the customer reviews, the services offered include:

  • Used Auto and Truck Parts Sales: The core business involves selling parts salvaged from various vehicles. Customers call or visit to inquire about specific components for their cars or trucks, such as a "factory wheel for my Ford truck."

  • Inventory Check and Sourcing: The process involves staff checking inventory, which can be done via computer systems. However, as noted by customers, this process can be lengthy and may involve checking external salvage yards or databases, indicating a service for sourcing parts not directly on their lot.

  • Walk-in and Phone Inquiries: The business handles inquiries both from customers visiting the location and those calling in to check for part availability.

It is important to note that while listed under "Auto Repair Stations," the direct reviews focus exclusively on parts sales and customer service related to finding parts, rather than hands-on vehicle repair services.

Key Features and Differentiators

Based on the provided customer feedback, the key features and differentiators of Actions Auto & Truck Parts, both positive and negative, appear to be:

  • Inconsistent Inventory Information: A significant point of concern is the discrepancy between online inventory information and actual stock. Customers reported that the website indicated parts were "in stock," but upon arrival, they were told the items were unavailable or had to be sourced from other locations, often at a higher price. This lack of accurate, real-time inventory is a critical operational issue.

  • Questionable Honesty/Transparency: One customer explicitly states, "So, either their inventory is very wrong or they are dishonest. Their website said they had more than 4 items, in stock, for $30-40. Once I got there they had none in stock and the price had gone up to $125." The sentiment of being "jerked around" and accusations of being a "liar" point to a perceived lack of transparency and honesty in their customer interactions.

  • Poor Customer Service & Communication: Reviews highlight a significant challenge in customer service, including unhelpful phone demeanor, frustration from staff, and issues with managing phone calls (e.g., not hanging up, answering new calls on the same line). This can lead to extended wait times and a negative overall experience for callers.

  • Potential for External Sourcing: While a source of frustration due to miscommunication, the fact that they can potentially source parts from "another salvage yard over in Texas" indicates a network or capability to obtain parts not directly on their premises. However, this feature is overshadowed by the issues of pricing and availability misrepresentation.

  • Specific Employee Identification: One reviewer noted a specific employee (in a wheelchair) as the source of their negative experience, allowing other potential customers to potentially identify and perhaps avoid similar interactions. This unique detail offers a very specific "differentiator," albeit a negative one, from a customer's perspective.

Promotional Information

Based solely on the provided customer reviews, there is no explicit promotional information such as discounts, special offers, or advertising campaigns mentioned. The reviews, unfortunately, do not highlight any positive promotional aspects that would draw new customers. Instead, the customer feedback serves as a cautionary note for potential visitors.

In the absence of formal promotional details, the primary "information" conveyed by the reviews is about the actual customer experience. Potential customers are advised to exercise caution and thoroughly verify part availability and pricing before making a trip to the location. The phone numbers provided, (520) 790-3600 and +1 520-790-3600, are the channels through which customers might attempt to verify information, though the reviews suggest a challenging experience even through these channels. Given the nature of the feedback, Actions Auto & Truck Parts would need to significantly address its inventory accuracy and customer service practices to effectively promote a positive image to the local community. Without direct promotional offers or positive customer endorsements, the decision to use this service would largely hinge on whether a desperately needed part is believed to be uniquely available here, and if the customer is willing to navigate potential frustrations.

Called this yard to verify that they had a certain factory wheel for my Ford truck. I was double checking because their website said they had a few of these wheels on the lot. Once I got there the guy in the office sat at a computer and started typing away, asking me what I was looking for again. After maybe 5 minutes or so he pulled up the exact same picture I had seen on their website earlier and showed it to me. I asked if I could go see the wheels and take some measurements and he said "Oh, we don't have those in stock." After another 5+ minutes of him slogging through some website he called me over again. "Are these them?" he asked, and I confirmed. He then stated that they were about $125 each and they would take a couple days to get there. While looking at this second picture I noticed it was just showing inventory at another salvage yard over in Texas (with a completely different name - not another branch of this co.) So, either their inventory is very wrong or they are dishonest. Their website said they had more than 4 items, in stock, for $30-40. Once I got there they had none in stock and the price had gone up to $125. While I was in there he took a few phone calls and said nearly the exact same thing as he said to me: "Oh yes, we definitely have that, just stop on by and we can help you out.". What a liar. The place across the street didn't have what I wanted either but they were up front and friendly and I was on my way in 2 minutes. This was much better than getting jerked around for 20+ minutes about parts they don't even have. The guy who helped me was the only one there in a wheelchair so you should know if you get the same guy.

I called this place today asking about a part. The person who answered sounded as if his life wasn't worth living and that I was disconvenencing him for calling him. I live in another county. I cannot go in and talk to a person face-to-face. He then proceeded to tell me that his computers were down and that he needed five minutes and he'll call me back. He never hung up. I waited and then he answered the phone even though he did not end the call. Again it was still the same phone call and he then proceeded to get frustrated at me. It had been more than an hour before I called him back.

Owner took the time to make sure to locate another altenator at a nearby location for me when they weren't locating the one in stock. Went above and beyond what most part stores would do these days. Extremely grateful for the help & ensuring I got the part I needed! Great place to do business with.

I go to junk yards on the weekly and I can say I’ve never had service like this. Won’t honor prices THEY listed online! You get way better service across the street or ANY other junk yard in town. Don’t accept any kind of card payments only cash! Super sketch and from reading other reviews I see why.

I wish Google would let me give a negative star rating. This company is a bunch of B.S. I ordered and engine at Thanksgiving time the person that answered the phone said his employee was in Texas and would have him pull it when he returned he also added that he lost my work order and would handle it. I waited couple weeks and called back and was told I have a work order for it I'm not sure what that's means but I will assume that he simply doesn't want to sell me an engine. I called today and asked how my engine was coming and he answered which engine and I gave all the info again and then responded ill get a work order started. I explained that I have this car apart and my customer is not very happy. HIS response was "GO SOMEWHERE ELSE". so who ever reads this I would do exactly what I was told take your business somewhere else.
