Services Offered

The Valero station in Collingswood, as a gas station operating in New Jersey, primarily offers full-service fueling in compliance with state regulations. While specific details on additional convenience store offerings are not extensively provided in the customer reviews, typical services at a Valero station would generally include:

  • Gasoline: The station dispenses various grades of Valero brand gasoline. Valero produces a range of fuels, including standard unleaded, midgrade, and premium options, designed to meet the requirements of different vehicles. Valero also offers TOP TIER™ certified fuel at its branded stations, which contain higher levels of detergents to help keep engines clean.
  • Full-Service Fueling: In accordance with New Jersey state law, attendants are present at the pumps to assist customers with refueling their vehicles. This provides a level of convenience, especially during inclement weather or when drivers prefer not to pump their own gas.
  • Payment Processing: Customers can typically pay for their fuel using various methods, including cash and major credit/debit cards. However, it is crucial to note that one customer review highlighted an instance where the station was "cash only" without any visible signage. This suggests that payment options can be variable, and it is advisable to confirm accepted payment methods upon arrival or be prepared with cash.
  • Convenience Store (Likely): Most Valero locations include an attached convenience store. Such incidents, if they occur, should be immediately addressed with the station management and, if necessary, the customer's financial institution. Businesses strive for accurate and courteous service, and any discrepancies should be promptly reported.

It is crucial to acknowledge the serious concerns raised in the provided customer reviews. Allegations of being "cash only" without proper signage, extended wait times for service, and instances of attendants overfilling tanks beyond the requested amount and responding rudely ("Complete rip off. I told the guy who was too lazy to come around the driver’s side of the car “40 regular cash” and showed him 4 fingers. He fills it up to 42.02. I said I told you $40. He says I filled it up. I said I didn’t ask you to fill it up, I told you $40 regular. He rudely replies with Give me 2 more dollars. I said I should only put for what I asked for. I give you good business, including all my gas cans for mowing (my teenage son’s business. I threw the two dollars out the window to him and left. All he kept saying was “Sorry”. Rip off artist. BEWARE.") are significant issues. While these represent individual reported incidents and may not reflect every customer's experience, they indicate a potential for service shortcomings that customers should be aware of. Reputable businesses aim for prompt, accurate, and courteous service, and such issues warrant immediate attention from management if they occur.

Valero Customer Reviews

I have never left a review for a gas station, but this place warrants a review. I pulled in at around 7:45AM to get a fill up. There was one man working. He took three minutes to finish what he was doing, by which time the car in front of me was done, so when he finally came out he had to first help the other driver. Finally he came over to me, only to let me know that he could only accept cash. Luckily I had a $20 so I was able to get gas. During the fill-up, I looked around to see if there was any notice or sign indicating that they were cash only, but there was nothing. When the pump clicked I was ready to time him, as this review had already been conceived in my mind right when I began waiting initially. It actually only took this guy one minute and fifteen seconds to get back over. There are other gas stations on 130 on my way to work. I will never stop here again. This incident has also damaged the Valero brand for me and hopefully for you as well. If these jobs must exist, then these individuals should be held to higher expectations.

Living in Pa, gas is always cheaper in New Jersey. The other reason I go there is because I have a Valero credit card and there are no stations in Philadelphia. Keep in mind they close at 9:00 p.m.

Gave them my card and they tried to pull some sort of scam by putting in a dollar amount rather than a fill-up like I asked for. Then refused to use my card. Don't go here, they're clearly running some sort of scam.
