Sunoco is a recognized name in the fuel industry, generally associated with providing various grades of gasoline, including their signature Top Tier fuel. This particular station, like many, strives to be a quick stop for motorists needing to refuel their vehicles. While the fundamental service of providing gasoline remains consistent, the overall customer experience at any given location can vary, and it's important for locals to be aware of what they might encounter.

Location and Accessibility

The Sunoco gas station is situated at 1825-27 Teall Ave, Syracuse, NY 13206, USA. This address places it in a busy, easily accessible area of Syracuse. Teall Avenue itself is a significant thoroughfare, connecting various neighborhoods and providing a route to other parts of the city. Its location makes it a convenient stop for residents in the immediate vicinity, as well as for those traveling along this corridor.

The station’s position on a main avenue suggests good visibility and relatively straightforward entry and exit points. For those familiar with Syracuse, Teall Avenue is a well-known artery, making the gas station a recognizable landmark for quick fuel stops during daily commutes or errands within the city. Services Offered

Like most Sunoco stations, the location at 1825-27 Teall Ave in Syracuse primarily offers fueling services, and may include a convenience store:

  • Gasoline Sales: The core service is the provision of gasoline across different grades (e.g., regular, mid-grade, premium). Sunoco emphasizes its commitment to Top Tier certified fuel, which contains detergents designed to keep engines cleaner and running more efficiently.
  • Diesel Fuel: Most Sunoco stations also offer diesel fuel, catering to a wider range of vehicles including trucks and some SUVs.
  • Convenience Store: It is standard for Sunoco locations to feature a small convenience store. These stores typically offer a selection of snacks, cold beverages (sodas, juices, energy drinks), hot coffee, and potentially other basic automotive necessities like engine oil or windshield washer fluid. The exact inventory and variety can vary by franchisee or operator.
  • Air/Water Station: Many gas stations offer air and water for tires. However, as noted in customer feedback, the functionality and maintenance of such equipment can vary significantly.
  • Payment Options: The station would typically accept common payment methods such as major credit cards, debit cards, and cash for fuel and convenience store purchases. Pay-at-the-pump options are usually available for added speed.
Features / Highlights

Based on general information about Sunoco and available customer feedback, here are some potential features and highlights of this particular station, along with important considerations:

  • Sunoco Top Tier Fuel: A major highlight of all Sunoco stations is their commitment to Top Tier gasoline. This means the fuel contains advanced detergents that help clean engine deposits and prevent new ones from forming, which can lead to better engine performance and fuel economy over time. For New York drivers, this quality standard is a potential benefit for vehicle maintenance.
  • Brand Recognition: Sunoco is a well-established and recognized brand in the fuel industry across the United States. Its long history and association with motorsports like NASCAR often contribute to a perception of quality and reliability in its fuel products.
  • Local Convenience: Its location on Teall Avenue offers direct access for local residents, making it a convenient stop for routine refueling without needing to travel far off their established routes within Syracuse.
  • Customer Service & Maintenance Concerns: It is crucial to address recurring themes from recent customer reviews, which highlight significant challenges. Reports of a defective air pump with no concern from staff, and particularly serious allegations regarding expired vape pods, rude management, and issues with returns, indicate potential shortcomings in customer service and store management at this specific location. These are critical aspects for local users to consider when choosing where to spend their money.
Promotions or Special Offers

Sunoco, as a national brand, frequently offers various promotions and rewards programs that can be utilized at participating stations, including the one on Teall Ave in Syracuse. While specific in-store deals may vary, the most consistent opportunities for savings generally come through:

  • Sunoco Go Rewards® Program: This is Sunoco’s primary mobile-based loyalty program. By downloading and registering within the Sunoco Go Rewards app, customers can typically save 3¢ per gallon on fuel purchases when paying through the app. The app also allows users to find participating stations and track their savings.
  • Sunoco Pay & Bank Account Link: For potentially greater savings, Sunoco encourages customers to link a bank account to Sunoco Pay within the Go Rewards app. For a limited time, this can sometimes unlock additional discounts, such as an extra 10¢ per gallon on top of the standard Go Rewards discount, for a total of 13¢ off per gallon. This also facilitates touch-free payment.
  • Sunoco Rewards Credit Card: Applying for and using the Sunoco Rewards Credit Card can provide additional, consistent savings, often around 5¢ per gallon, which can be stacked with Go Rewards discounts for maximum savings.
  • Grocery Rewards Partnerships: Sunoco frequently partners with major grocery store chains, allowing customers to convert points earned through grocery purchases into discounts on fuel at Sunoco stations. Customers should check the Sunoco website or the Go Rewards app for a list of participating grocery partners and details on how to link their loyalty cards.

Given the reported customer service issues, it would be prudent for customers to clarify any promotion details directly with the station or verify them within the official Sunoco Go Rewards app to ensure they receive the advertised benefits.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals (with considerations)

For residents of Syracuse, New York, particularly those in the vicinity of Teall Avenue, this Sunoco gas station offers the fundamental convenience of readily available fuel, including the quality assurance of Top Tier gasoline. Its easily accessible location on a main road means it can serve as a quick and practical stop for daily commuters and those running errands within the city. The potential for savings through the Sunoco Go Rewards program and associated payment methods also offers an attractive incentive for budget-conscious drivers in New York.

However, it is crucial for locals to approach this location with awareness, given the recent customer feedback. Concerns about malfunctioning equipment (like the air pump) and, more significantly, allegations of poor customer service, rudeness from management, and issues with product quality (expired vape pods) are serious. While the core function of providing fuel is met, the overall experience appears to be inconsistent. For locals, while the convenience of location and the benefit of Top Tier fuel are present, it would be wise to manage expectations regarding additional services and customer interactions. Drivers might consider using this station primarily for fuel transactions while taking note of the expressed concerns, especially if seeking a comprehensive and consistently positive service station experience.

Sunoco Customer Reviews

I've been going here for gas for years but no longer . I tried to add air to my tires ($1) but the valve head is defective on their machine. I went inside to talk with the attendant and he told me the pump isn't theirs so they don't care. I suggested hanging an out of order sign but again, they don't care. Spend your money elsewhere- this place doesn't care about customers.

The manager thinks he can sell expired vape pods and not return the money to the customers. Very rude and uses other customers to make his point. When no one vouched for him, he started calling me names and told me to leave his store after giving me cash after I paid on card. I just put 30 in my tank and couldn't get decent service. Not coming back here
