Customer experiences often shed light on the unique features and areas where a business shines, or sometimes, faces challenges. For the Sunoco at NJ Tpke Milepost 5.4 South, several points have been highlighted:

  • Convenience for Southbound Travelers: A key highlight is its strategic location for those heading south on the New Jersey Turnpike. It's perfectly positioned as a last major fueling point before reaching the Maryland/Delaware border, making it a reliable choice for long-haul trips.
  • Competitive Pricing: One review specifically notes that this stop is "cheaper" than other options. In the often-inflated pricing environment of turnpike service areas, finding a more economical fuel price is a significant advantage and a strong draw for budget-conscious travelers.

This indicates a potential issue with payment processing at some pumps, which can be frustrating for modern drivers who rely heavily on card payments.
  • Challenge: Staff Attitude: The same critical review also mentions that "People who are responsible for gasoline are mad and useless." This suggests occasional issues with staff demeanor or helpfulness, which can detract from the overall customer experience.

While the convenience and potentially lower prices are clear benefits, prospective customers should be aware of the reported challenges regarding payment methods at pumps and staff interactions.

Sunoco Customer Reviews

Went here on Saturday February 8th 2025 with my parents to get diesel fuel for our south carolina trip after stopping at the restrooms at the clara barton service area on the New Jersey turnpike. This gas/rest stop is convenient because it is on the way to the Maryland/delaware border, and cheaper. Also Easy to get back on the road. Got gas, paid with credit card, and went on our merry way.

People who are responsible for gasoline are mad and useless and most of the pumps don’t accept card like we are in 2001
