- Pizza (at select locations).
- Breakfast items like coffee and baked goods.
-
Stewart's Own Dairy Products: A major highlight is their range of Stewart's branded dairy products, which come directly from their own farms and processing plant. This includes:
- Milk (various fat percentages, though some customers express concerns about rBST).
- Yogurt.
- Ice Cream (a legendary local favorite, available in a wide array of flavors, though some recent reviews mention changes in quality and candy content).
-
Coffee Station: A self-serve coffee station is usually available for customers, offering a quick pick-me-up (though availability and cleanliness can be an issue, according to some feedback).
-

Stewart's Shops in Ballston Spa, like its counterparts, is known for several distinguishing features that set it apart in the local landscape, although customer experiences can vary.
-
Iconic Stewart's Brand Products: A major draw for many New Yorkers is the availability of Stewart's own brand of dairy products. Their milk and, most famously, their ice cream have a long-standing reputation and are deeply integrated into the local culture. For many, grabbing a scoop of Stewart's ice cream is a cherished local tradition, evoking a sense of nostalgia. The unique flavor profiles and the connection to local dairy farming are significant highlights.
-
Hot Food Options: The ability to grab hot food items like hot dogs is a convenient feature for those looking for a quick meal on the go. For some, like the customer who mentioned their dad taking them for hot dogs and chocolate milk, these offerings carry significant sentimental value and create a connection to personal history and community traditions. This ready-to-eat food selection provides a convenient alternative to fast-food chains for a quick bite.
-

This comprehensive offering allows customers to fulfill multiple needs in a single visit, saving time and effort, which is highly valued by busy individuals and families in New York.
However, it's also important to acknowledge that customer feedback sometimes points to areas of concern. Some recent reviews mention issues such as stale buns, lukewarm hot food, unappealing prepared sandwiches, and a perceived decline in ice cream quality (e.g., "less candies with increased prices," "disgusting clingy substance" when melted, and concerns about rBST in milk). There are also grievances about high prices ("You're paying for the convenience" being a noted motto) and occasional issues with coffee availability and cleanliness, as well as instances of rude staff. These points suggest that while the brand has strong nostalgic appeal and convenient features, consistency in quality and service can vary, and customers may find prices higher compared to other options.
Stewart's Shops frequently runs various promotions and special offers, though these can change regularly and may vary by location. Common types of promotions at Stewart's include:

-
Milk and Dairy Specials: Occasionally, discounts on their popular milk or other dairy products.

Stewart's Shops Customer Reviews
My Dad has been taking me to Stewart's for hot dogs and chocolate milk since I was a child. It's nostalgic for me to sit down and bite into that dog. Today the buns were stale and they were out of regular hot dogs. Tried a kielbasa, it was luke warm and just okay. Cruised by the sandwich machine to see what was in there. Lots of burnt buffalo chicken sandwiches, and a few other sandwiches in black buns. Not the most appealing thing I've ever seen. This last gripe is not particular to this visit or any specific shop. The ice cream has gone down hill. There's less candies with increased prices. Their milk comes from cows treated with rBST, which is terrible for you despite the disclaimer Stewart's lists in the packaging. If you make the mistake of letting the ice cream melt some, it leaves this disgusting clingy substance. Worse yet is if you happen to get some in your spoon or into your mouth. The texture is very unpleasant, makes me wonder what kind of chemical is used in the production. Other brands of ice cream don't do this. What gives? 🤷♂️ Prices are absolutely ridiculous here. Again, not store specific. It's a Stewart's thing. "You're paying for the convenience" is their motto. Pretty convenient to just avoid Stewart's all together.

One of the most clean and sanitary shops around. Excellent customer service...yes long lines, that's what happens when you have a high traffic area store with easy access. Associates move the lines expeditiously and maintain a courteous demeanor.

I've been a fan of Stewart's shops for years but this shop in particular has on multiple occasions disappointed me. The day staff is rude and finds it acceptable to look at growing lines and not redirect their energies. I simply will avoid that shop as they are located entirely to close to the competition to be so willing to disregard customers.
