The convenience of a well-placed gas station cannot be overstated in a state that blends bustling towns with scenic routes, often requiring drivers to be prepared for both.

Location and Accessibility

The Mobil station is strategically located at 1334 Boston Post Rd, Madison, CT 06443, USA. Boston Post Road, also known as US Route 1, is a major historical and commercial artery stretching across Connecticut. This address places the station on a highly visible and easily accessible road, making it a convenient stop for both Madison residents and those traveling along the Connecticut shoreline. Its location on such a primary route means finding the gas station is straightforward, minimizing any detours for drivers.

For individuals residing within Madison, the gas station is likely just a short drive from their homes, positioning it as a practical choice for routine fuel-ups. The station's direct access from a main road simplifies entry and exit, which is particularly beneficial during peak hours when efficiency is key. Whether you're heading east towards Guilford and Clinton, or west towards Branford and New Haven, this Mobil location serves as an ideal checkpoint for refueling and grabbing necessities on your journey through this vibrant part of Connecticut.

Services Offered

As a Mobil branded station, this location in Madison offers a comprehensive suite of services designed to meet the fundamental needs of motorists and beyond. While specific details may vary, typical offerings at a Mobil gas station like this one include:

  • Mobil Synergy Fuels: The core service involves dispensing various grades of gasoline, including regular, mid-grade, and Synergy Supreme+ premium gasoline, as well as diesel fuel. Mobil's Synergy fuels are engineered with proprietary additives to help keep engines clean, improve fuel economy, and enhance protection, which is a significant benefit for vehicle longevity in Connecticut's varied driving conditions.
  • Convenience Store: Most Mobil stations feature a well-stocked convenience store. This typically offers a wide selection of products for immediate consumption or quick purchases, such as:
    • Snacks (chips, candy, pastries, packaged foods)
    • Beverages (sodas, juices, bottled water, energy drinks, coffee, including hot and cold options)
    • Tobacco products
    • Basic groceries (e.g., milk, bread, eggs for last-minute needs)
    • Automotive essentials (oil, windshield wiper fluid, air fresheners)
    • Lottery tickets and magazines
  • Restrooms: Essential for travelers and locals alike, clean and accessible restrooms are a standard amenity at reputable gas stations.
  • ATM: For quick cash withdrawals, an Automated Teller Machine is a common and convenient feature.
  • Air and Water: Typically, stations provide compressed air for tire inflation and water for radiator top-offs or windshield cleaning, often available for free or a small fee.
  • Car Wash (Potentially): While not explicitly confirmed for this exact location in the provided data, many Mobil stations, especially those on main roads like Boston Post Road, often feature an automatic car wash, providing an additional layer of convenience for vehicle maintenance.

It is important to acknowledge serious customer feedback. One review states, "Just went to this gas station a little while ago to get a drink. Get in my car start driving and look and see the expiration date is from March 6th. Not June 6th, March 6th. Very disappointed in this store in selling expired stuff." This is a significant concern regarding product quality and inventory management. Another review mentions, "The pumps are super slow here and that is usually a sign of them tacking on an additional surcharge. That’s why the prices are so low they slow down the pump and make up the difference plus extra." This implies a perceived negative tactic regarding pump speed and pricing. Potential customers should be aware of these issues.

Features / Highlights

The Mobil station on Boston Post Road in Madison aims to offer several features that enhance its appeal to Connecticut drivers. While the provided reviews highlight some significant challenges, we can also identify inherent advantages of a Mobil-branded station:

  • Quality Fuel (Mobil Synergy): Mobil's commitment to its Synergy fuel blends is a key highlight. These fuels are designed to offer better gas mileage, lower CO2 emissions, and improved engine protection, which can be a significant benefit for vehicle longevity and performance on Connecticut roads.
  • Brand Recognition and Consistency: Being a Mobil station means customers can generally expect a certain standard of service and product quality associated with a major national brand. This provides a sense of reliability for many drivers.
  • Convenience Store Offerings: The presence of a convenience store allows for a quick stop for a wide array of items beyond just fuel, catering to immediate needs for snacks, drinks, or automotive supplies.
  • Strategic Location: Its placement on Boston Post Road (Route 1) makes it an easily accessible and convenient stop for both local residents and travelers along the shoreline, minimizing travel time.

However, it is critical to address the direct customer feedback. The concern about "selling expired stuff" is a serious indictment of product freshness and store management. Furthermore, the allegation of "pumps are super slow here and that is usually a sign of them tacking on an additional surcharge," which implies a deceptive practice regarding pump speed and pricing, is a significant negative highlight. While Mobil typically strives for high standards, these specific reviews suggest potential inconsistencies in operational quality and customer trust at this particular location. Patrons should consider these points when choosing to visit.

Promotions or Special Offers

Mobil, as a major fuel brand, typically provides various loyalty programs and promotions that can benefit customers at participating locations, including the Madison station. While specific, exclusive promotions for this exact site are not always publicly detailed, general Mobil offers commonly include:

  • Exxon Mobil Rewards+ Program: This loyalty program allows members to earn points on fuel and in-store purchases at Exxon and Mobil stations. These points can then be redeemed for savings on future fuel or convenience store items. Higher-tier members or frequent fillers may earn points at an accelerated rate or receive bonus points.
  • Exxon Mobil Smart Card+™ Credit Card: For frequent customers, applying for and using this branded credit card can offer ongoing fuel savings (e.g., 10¢ per gallon on regular, mid-grade, and diesel, and 12¢ per gallon on Synergy Supreme+ premium gas). It may also offer rebates on qualifying in-store non-fuel purchases.
  • Mobile App Integration (Direct Debit+): The Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app often allows customers to link their bank accounts for "Direct Debit+" payments, which can provide instant savings (e.g., 10¢-12¢ per gallon) on fuel purchases directly at the pump.
  • AARP Member Benefits: AARP members who link their membership to Exxon Mobil Rewards+ can earn more points for additional savings on fuel, car washes, and convenience store items.
  • Seasonal or Limited-Time Offers: Mobil often runs special promotions throughout the year, especially during peak travel seasons or for specific product launches. These might be advertised at the pump, in the store, or through the mobile app.

Given the customer review stating "The pumps are super slow here and that is usually a sign of them tacking on an additional surcharge," customers should be particularly attentive to the final price and any charges on their receipts, and verify how promotions are applied. For the most current and accurate information on any available promotions or loyalty programs at this Mobil location, it is always advisable to visit the station, check for signage, or consult the official Exxon Mobil Rewards+ website or app.

They charge 2.00 for the dollar Arizona ice tea. Don’t go here. Gas is more expensive also what a rip off and a complete shit hole.

Gas prices are extortionately high. They also massively overcharge for everything in the store. You can tell because the only item in the store with the price marked is Arizona Iced Tea which they have more than doubled the price on which is the hallmark of a greedy business. Never buy anything from a business that won't sell an Arizona for an honest price.
