  • Gasoline Sales: As an Exxon-branded station, it provides various grades of gasoline, including Synergy Diesel Efficient / Diesel. This ensures drivers have access to the necessary fuel types for their vehicles.

  • Convenience Store: The station includes a convenience store, which typically offers a selection of common grab-and-go items such as snacks, beverages, and other essential convenience goods. This allows customers to purchase refreshments and other necessities alongside their fuel.

  • ATM: An ATM is available on-site, providing a convenient way for customers to withdraw cash for purchases or other needs.

  • Restrooms: Public restrooms are generally available, offering a necessary amenity for travelers during their stop.

While the station provides these standard services, it's important to note customer feedback regarding the operational status of the pumps. Customers planning a visit might consider this possibility when timing their stop.

Features / Highlights

The Exxon station at 8485 Honeygo Boulevard in Nottingham, MD, possesses several features that define its presence in the local community, alongside critical aspects that potential visitors should consider.

  • 24/7 Operation: A significant highlight is that this Exxon station is "Open 24 hours" and "Open 24/7." This continuous availability ensures that fuel and convenience items are accessible at any time, which is invaluable for early commuters, late-night travelers, or anyone with unpredictable schedules in the Maryland area.

  • Convenience Store On-Site: The presence of a convenience store means that drivers can refuel their vehicles and simultaneously grab snacks, drinks, or other quick necessities. This dual functionality adds to the convenience for those on the go.

  • Accepts Commercial Diesel Fleet Cards: For professional drivers and businesses, the acceptance of commercial diesel fleet cards is a practical feature that streamlines fuel purchasing and expense management.

  • Loyalty & Payment Programs: The station participates in Exxon Mobil Rewards+ in-store offers and is also listed as "Just for U® Participating." This indicates opportunities for customers to earn rewards or benefit from discounts through loyalty programs, which can be a draw for regular patrons.

  • ATM Availability: The presence of an ATM provides easy access to cash, adding to the convenience of the stop for various transactions.

However, it is crucial to address the significant concerns raised in customer reviews, which impact the overall perception and highlight specific challenges:

  • Reported High Gas Prices: Multiple reviews vehemently state that "Gas prices here are unbelievably high as much as one dollar per gallon higher on the average gas station in the state of Maryland," and "Possibly the worst gas prices in the state. Usually close to $1 per gallon over the average, absolutely gouging." This is a major point of consideration for any driver, as it directly affects the cost-effectiveness of fueling at this location.

  • Frequent Pump Outages: Another critical highlight is the complaint that "Half the pumps are out of service." This can lead to longer wait times and frustration, particularly during busy periods, significantly detracting from the "quick stop" convenience typically expected from a gas station.

These factors suggest that while the station offers standard convenience and accessibility, its pricing strategy and operational reliability regarding pumps are significant considerations for potential customers.

Promotions or Special Offers

Based on the provided information and general public data for Exxon stations, the Exxon at 8485 Honeygo Blvd, Nottingham, MD, primarily participates in corporate-level promotions and loyalty programs. However, it's important to frame these in light of the customer feedback regarding high gas prices.

Despite customer reviews specifically mentioning "unbelievably high" gas prices and "gouging," implying a lack of competitive promotional pricing at the pump itself, this station, as an Exxon-branded location, generally offers access to the following loyalty and payment programs:

  • Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ Program: This loyalty program allows members to earn points on fuel, qualifying convenience store purchases, and car washes. Points can be redeemed for savings on future purchases. New members and frequent fillers (those who purchase 100+ gallons a month) often have opportunities for bonus points or enhanced savings.

  • ExxonMobil™ Smart Card+: This branded credit card offers ongoing fuel savings, typically 10¢ per gallon on regular, mid-grade, and diesel fuel, and 12¢ per gallon on Synergy Supreme+™ premium gas. These savings are applied as a reduced price at the pump. The card may also offer rebates on qualifying non-fuel purchases made at Exxon or Mobil locations.

  • Exxon Mobil Direct Debit+™: Customers who link their bank account and pay via the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app can receive instant savings on fuel (e.g., 10¢/gal on regular, mid-grade, and diesel; 12¢/gal on premium).

  • Walmart+ Discount: The station is listed as a "Walmart+ participating" location. Walmart+ members can save 10¢ per gallon at participating Exxon and Mobil stations, a significant benefit for Walmart+ subscribers in Maryland.

  • AARP Member Savings: AARP members who link their membership to Exxon Mobil Rewards+ can earn additional points for more savings on fuel, car washes, and convenience store items.

Given the strong negative feedback on direct pump prices, customers visiting this specific Exxon should strongly consider leveraging these loyalty and payment programs to offset the perceived higher base prices. Utilizing the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ app, the Smart Card+, or a Walmart+ membership could provide the necessary discounts to make fueling at this location more financially viable, especially if its convenience outweighs the immediate price concerns for a given individual. Without these programs, the station's promotional appeal is heavily mitigated by its reported high pricing.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

For locals in Nottingham and the broader White Marsh area of Maryland, the Exxon station at 8485 Honeygo Boulevard presents a unique set of considerations. While it offers undeniable conveniences, prospective users should be aware of its specific characteristics, particularly concerning pricing and operational functionality.

The primary suitability for locals lies in its strategic location and continuous operation. Situated on a key thoroughfare like Honeygo Boulevard, it offers easy access for residents and commuters, minimizing detours for essential stops. Being open 24/7 provides invaluable flexibility, ensuring that fuel and convenience items are available at any hour, which is a significant advantage for those with early commutes, late-night errands, or unpredictable schedules. The on-site convenience store also allows for quick grab-and-go purchases, adding to its practical appeal for busy individuals.

However, it is crucial for Maryland users to acknowledge the prevalent customer feedback. The reported "unbelievably high" gas prices, often cited as significantly above the state average, mean that this Exxon may not be the most economical choice for fueling without leveraging loyalty programs. Furthermore, the recurring issue of "half the pumps out of service" can lead to frustration and longer wait times, impacting the intended convenience.

Despite these points of concern, the station remains suitable for locals who prioritize the sheer convenience of its location and 24-hour availability over immediate price competitiveness, or for those who actively utilize Exxon's loyalty programs (like Exxon Mobil Rewards+ or Walmart+ discounts) to offset the higher base prices. For drivers who are already part of these reward systems, the savings could make this a viable option. In essence, while it might not be the budget-friendly "go-to" for everyone, its prime location and round-the-clock service ensure it retains a functional, albeit niche, suitability for certain local needs in Nottingham, MD.

Gas prices here are unbelievable high as much as one dollar per gallon higher on the average gas station in the state of Maryland. Have the pumps are out of service. Certainly don’t understand the justification for the high prices.

Possibly the worst gas prices in the state. Usually close to $1 per gallon over the average, absolutely gouging. There are many less expensive choices within minutes that are far cheaper and easy to find with Google, Gas Buddy or any other gas price tracker.

Most horrible place to buy fuel. This place needs to be regulated because they're always charging a dollar more.

NOT at all 24 hours. Closed by 11pm! And gas prices have always been astronomical! They treat everyone like a theif and stare and follow people around the store. Everyone has been saying these same things but nothing changes because owners just dont care. Like at least stop lying saying your open 24 hours! What gas station closes at 11 when your right off 95, esp when the next exit going north is MILES away? 😡
