For those residing in or passing through Watertown, New York, finding a convenient and reliable gas station is often a key part of daily life. When considering options in the area, the Citgo Gas Station at 610 State Street is one of the choices available. As a local establishment, it serves as a point of interest for drivers seeking to refuel their vehicles. This article aims to provide a factual overview of this specific Citgo location, drawing on publicly available information and common customer experiences to help you determine if it aligns with your needs for a quick stop in Watertown.
The Citgo Gas Station is situated at 610 State St, Watertown, NY 13601, USA. This address places it along a prominent thoroughfare in Watertown, making it relatively accessible for local traffic. State Street is a key route within the city, suggesting that the station is easy to spot for those driving in the vicinity. Its urban location means it is likely to be integrated into daily driving routes for residents and accessible for visitors exploring the city. Given its address on State Street, drivers can expect straightforward entry and exit, depending on traffic conditions in that specific area of Watertown.
Based on typical gas station operations and available public information, the Citgo Gas Station on State Street primarily offers the following services:
- Gasoline Sales: The primary service provided is the sale of various grades of gasoline for automobiles. Information suggests there are approximately three pumps available for fueling.
- Pay-at-the-Pump Option: For convenience, the station offers the ability to pay directly at the pump, allowing for a quicker transaction for those who only need to refuel.
- Convenience Store: Like most gas stations, it likely includes a small convenience store. This store would typically offer a limited selection of common items such as:
- Beverages (e.g., soda, bottled water)
- Snacks (e.g., chips, candy)
- Potentially some pre-packaged food items.
When evaluating the Citgo Gas Station on State Street, it's important to consider various aspects that contribute to the overall customer experience. Based on common customer feedback, here are some points to note:
- Limited Fueling Capacity: The station reportedly has only three pumps, which could lead to longer wait times during peak hours, especially if multiple customers arrive simultaneously. This might be a consideration for drivers who are in a hurry.
- Appearance and Maintenance: Some observations suggest that the general appearance of the station, including the exterior and amenities like trash cans, may not always be consistently well-maintained. An overflowing trash can was specifically noted, indicating potential issues with upkeep.
- Convenience Store Offerings (Customer Experience): While a convenience store is present, customer experiences regarding product quality and pricing practices have been varied. There have been reports of issues with perishable goods, such as bread and muffins, being sold past their prime or with mold. Customers have also noted concerns about non-itemized receipts and perceived discrepancies in pricing, suggesting a lack of transparency in transactions for some.
- Customer Service Interactions: Feedback regarding staff interactions has been mixed. While specific positive interactions are not detailed, some reviews highlight instances of unhelpful or even confrontational responses from staff when issues like product quality or accidental damage occurred. This suggests that the level of customer service can vary significantly.
Specific, consistent promotions or loyalty programs directly associated with this particular Citgo Gas Station on State Street are not widely advertised or highlighted in public feedback. Generally, Citgo as a brand may offer national promotions or partner with various rewards programs, but these would need to be confirmed at the local level. Customers interested in potential savings or deals at this location are advised to:
- Check on-site signage: Any current local promotions, such as fuel discounts or in-store specials, would typically be advertised at the pumps or within the convenience store.
- Inquire with staff: While not guaranteed, asking staff about any ongoing offers might provide information on current deals.
- Utilize brand apps/programs: If Citgo has a national loyalty app or program, checking that resource might reveal participating locations or general offers applicable to Citgo stations. However, there's no specific indication that this particular station actively participates in unique local deals beyond what might be a standard brand offering.

For locals in Watertown, the Citgo Gas Station at 610 State Street offers a basic fueling option within the city. Its location on State Street makes it geographically convenient for those in the immediate vicinity or passing through this particular area. If your primary need is simply to refuel your vehicle via pay-at-the-pump and you are already in the neighborhood, it can serve that purpose, especially if other stations have longer lines or are less accessible at that moment. The presence of a convenience store, despite some noted issues, does offer the possibility of grabbing a quick beverage or snack if absolutely necessary.
However, it's important for local users to set expectations based on shared community experiences. The feedback regarding limited facilities (only three pumps), general maintenance of the premises, and specific concerns about perishable product quality and customer service interactions are significant considerations. Instances of moldy bread and muffins, along with reported difficulties in resolving product issues or obtaining clear receipts, suggest that consumers should exercise caution, particularly when purchasing food items. For those prioritizing a well-maintained environment, a wide selection of fresh convenience items, or consistently positive customer service, other local options might prove more suitable. As one reviewer candidly suggested, "The little gas station just down the street is often one of the cheapest in town and has some good stuff. Plus they've never been rude to me in there and I've never once bought anything moldy in that one." This highlights that while Citgo on State Street exists as an option, locals may find more consistent and pleasant experiences at alternative stations nearby. Ultimately, for a quick, no-frills fuel stop, it might suffice, but for anything more, locals may want to explore other well-regarded establishments in Watertown.

This might be one of the crappiest, most rinky dink gas stations I've ever visited. Just 3 pumps. And ONE TRASH CAN for the entire place -- and it was overflowing! Whole place has an appearance of not being well maintained or looked after. Paid at the pump. Did not go in the store. Couldn't speak on that part.

Six to eight times now I've had to throw out or return bread that I just bought from there, either the same night or next day. The first time, I was insulted and told that I could have purchased it anywhere. The older man I spoke with grew instantly angry and treated me as though I was some kind of criminal. Eventually I told him I didn't even want a refund, just to calm him down, and to keep a better eye on their products. Another time when taking a frozen sandwhich out of the freezer, the top popped open when I picked it up and it went flying out and onto the floor. I was told that I would have to pay for it. When I told them that I wouldn't pay for a product that could have been partially opened already, defective, or tampered with by a customer, and the supposed, "you break it you buy it" law had no actual teeth, (i.e. was not inforceable) they insisted that I would indeed pay for it. When I asked if they were going to add it to the things I w.as purchasing and they answered yes, I left without buying anything. Out of somewhere between 6 and 8 loafs of moldy bread, I was refunded for none. One day when I was in there, after telling myself that I would never buy it from this shop again, a younger guy began pushing bread on me the moment I walked in. Buy one get one or half off or something like that. It was beyond the sell by date. And there were several moldy loafs. The shady way he was acting also leads me to believe that he was well aware of this and trying to sell as many as he could. After all, they don't give refunds. A couple of days ago, I purchased two chocolate muffins there, along with some other things, which I figured were safer than bread. Upon getting them home, I tried to eat one. The bottom of the first one was very moldy. The second one had a little mold on it. I took it back when I could. I'm not always able to go back the same night or day as I'm disabled. But it was only two days. The two men there said that they would have to call a boss. The man who came was the younger guy who was pushing moldy bread on me that day, about a year ago. And of course, he made every possible excuse. They all looked good, he told me. He suggested that I check the expiration dates before buying them. I said that was on him. An expired product shouldn't be on the shelf. And if it was, that was his fault, not mine. But, these were his excuses for not refunding or even replacing the products. Apparently it is our fault as the consumers, if we're dumb enough to shop at this store, that is. If we buy something there, we'd better tear it open right there at the cash register and check it for mold, bugs, whatever. And even then, if we had already paid, they would probably tell us too bad. That's not even considering all of the times the total of what I was buying went way over what it should have, because they just round things up in their heads or put generic prices on things and figure taxes (if they even actually pay any) at some random or high amount. You do not get an itemized reciept, so you can't go through and figure where they screwed you. But if you do as I do, adding as you shop, figuring for tax, and rounding up, you shouldn't be too surprised when they ring the total. A lot of shady stuff going on here. Stay away from this one. I wouldn't even buy gas there. The little gas station just down the street is often one f the cheapest in town and has some good stuff. Plus they've never been rude to me in there and I've never once bought anything moldy in that one. This place, however, I'm lucky I haven't had to visit the emergency room yet.

Its quick n easy! I shop here everyday and never can I remember having a complaint.no restrooms unfortunately. They have all the latest smoking devices for tobacco and cigars plus coffee n milk. And of course beer and four lokos are always cold and they have about every flavor.

Liked the fact that the atm doesn't have a fee for my card, very disappointed I walked an extra 10 minutes in 10 degree weather because they had breakfast sandwiches. When I got home I wasn't really bothered by the 20 minute walk it was the fact that I did it to get some breakfast sandwiches that are typically very good at locations like it on arsenal, outter mill, even Adams center and they were basically 2 croissants that still had that fresh out of the freezer coolness to them and when I looked inside I was impressed with them because they have a nice hustle going on selling cold croissants with about half an egg and a piece of ham almost shaved not much bigger than the bottom of a soda can. Good for them, they got me for like $7 but I'm not going to be getting fooled by the racket they're running again for sure.

Absolutely do not recommend, recently I went there to get fuel and buy food meeting my significant other on their lunch break, during this time I bought a drink and fuel, while filling up I noticed the man inside giving several piercing glares. As I was about to drive off I noticed him approach my spouses car and proceed to yell at her as I started to get out to talk to him he insisted I had “made fun of him and laugh at him” while out at the pump. I can most assure our conversation had nothing to do with him more should he have laid hands on her car and then yell at her without even trying to approach me. He continued to insult her and call her abusive names. Do not support this business.
