Walter's Transmission Shop

Had transmission problems took it to a shop and they said it may need a new transmission but they are not a transmission shop that was on Monday so I finished my pool route in escondido and then check engine light just so happened to turn off and my truck started driving fine. Tuesday morning on my way to work same thing started happening and truck wouldn't shift turned around stopped and googled transmission shops found Walter brought it to him and he got me back on the road next day by 10 if I could give him 10 🌟 I would I highly recommend him he's very good calm straight forward guy and his employees are very well taken care of just by talking to them. I never ever write reviews about anything but he stood out and wanted to let everyone who checks him out that they are in great hands. Thank you again Walter I appreciate you.

I'm so glad I found Walter. I had the transmission in my '06 Ram 3500 rebuilt by someone else and it didn't last very long. Huge disappointment, these aren't cheap to rebuild. Walter's rebuild fixed both the inherent factory problems these transmissions are known for and the screw ups from the last rebuild. I now have a better than factory transmission that operates flawlessly. The work was completed on time and true to the estimate. The quality of the components are better than what I asked for. Walter does it right. Thanks, Man!

Walter was a Godsend to us. I thought we had a problem with our transfer case, but it was the front drive shaft. Went to him on Wednesday, he said he would have the part Friday and install it then. We are traveling in our RV and had to find another place to stay Friday night. He told us we would be staying at his shop and we could hook our power to the shop. He told us he would save us some money. He had the Jeep fixed by 3 o'clock, when he closed, we parked behind his shop, and even though he was closed on Saturday, he opened up so we could disconnect our power. He did the work at a very reasonable price. We couldn't be any more satisfied with our experience with Walter. Highly recommend Walter's Transmission Shop to anyone!

Despite troubleshooting my own transmission, Walter gave advise and guidance on key areas to look more closely. The shop was able to rehabilitate a used valve body another shop slapped together. It came back with all the wear and scoring on the valve polished out. Very reasonable rates and delivered as promised. He has earned my trust and will receive my recommendation to anyone looking for service.

After having my transmission rebuilt (twice) at another facility and a horrible fail, I had my 2010 suburban towed to Walter. Although no one wants to jump in and fix someone else’s mistakes and nightmare, he was empathetic, kind and knowledgeable. I picked up my car yesterday and she shifts and operates like new. I want give a big THANK YOU to Walter. He operates a transmission shop that you can trust.❤️

My husband took our car in to have transmission fluid replaced. My husband noticed the car was driven 3 miles after the car was dropped off. What we did not appreciate was that there was no disclosure that the car would be driven. At the time of scheduling, my husband was told the car transmission oil would be drained and replaced. We've had this done on other vehicles in the past, and they never had to drive the vehicle. A three mile drive is questionable and also dangerous. What would have happened if damage was done to the car while it was being driven? We have no knowledge of what occurred during the 3 miles the car was driven. Their employees are not insured to be driving the vehicle. My husband called Walter and Walter said they would only drive the vehicle one mile to endure the vehicle was running. The car was taken specifically to have the transmission fluid drained. My husband questioned Walter again, and then he changed his reasoning to "well we want to make sure you did not leave a messed up vehicle with us." His reasons are illogical and I bet that either him or one of his employees took the vehicle to run an errand. This is unacceptable and a huge liability. I could understand if we brought the car in to fix an issue and they would need to test drive it, but again, this was only a transmission fluid replacement. Please do not take your vehicle here, and if you choose to, take a picture of the mileage after the car is dropped off and after it's picked up. We are new to the area and thought we found a business we could trust with vehicle maintenance, but this place is definitely not it.
