This place will try to upsell you if you are a woman, they WILL scam you! I went there today for air slowly seeping out. So naturally you would think there was a nail. Tell me why the guy said that my tire is practically flat and i needed a new one. He said there was a bulge the size of his hand. I replied “funny it wasn’t there when i dropped it off” i declined service and he urged me saying that my tire was about to BURST! Mind you he only pulled it around to the back didn’t even take the tire off. So of course i examined the tire and saw nothing wrong with it. I took it to riverside garage on harper and they said there was nothing wrong with my tires just a little debris between the rim and tire. I don’t ever leave reviews but what they did was messed up. And if y’all (valvoline) want to investigate this, i was there on 12-4-2024 around 11:30. STOP SCAMMING PEOPLE!!!!

Took my car there 2 yrs ago for alignment and had bought 4 tires got the work done and almost died going to work front lugs weren't tightened. Took same car 2 days ago with new outer tie rods wanted to charge me 133.00 per tire rod to switch sides. Plus 100.00 for alignment. Took car to Bishop in Clinton 93.00 for everything. Won't patronize ever again. Saw them charge a 75 yr old man 562.00 for tires on a hooptie and yes he was black also.

Did an awesome job of replacing a wheel bearing on my Prius and an oil change...didn't beat me up too bad! I did have a brake light issue but was able to resolve it on YouTube and a paper clip...just needed a computer re-set!

They upcharge for using a debit or credit card which is not legal and also goes against the agreement they make to accept certain payments visa/Mastercard. I have bought tires here before along with alignment & oil change. Brakes & rotors. Recently went to get a new front tire. I was told I needed a front left ball joint that It would cost me $300 in labor & $98 for the part. . So I saved and borrowed enough and went back today , I casually asked how much they charged per hour for labor. I was told $95 per hour. I waited and sat outside the bay and watched while my van was worked on. It took the guy approximately 40 minutes not counting his walking around & smoking time, he was basically working in slow motion. When I went to pay. I was told I would only be charged for 2 hours instead of the quoted 3. I said why would I pay for 2 hours labor when it took him less than 1 hour. He explained that it was equipment fees ect. I said well it needs to be listed on the bill exactly what I am paying for. The cashier Allen (the owners Son) told me, that they have the lowest hourly Labor cost around. I said No you don't if you are charging double and triple hours. I refused to pay, he called his Dad Tony the owner and went into the back office and shut the door. He came out and told me I would be charged for 1.5 hours instead of the quoted 3, and 2 he had offered. I was still over charged for half a hour that was not worked. If I had not sat on the ground in front of the bay and watched, I most likely would have been charged the full $300 quoted cost of labor. Allen also told me if I had problems with how they charged, I didn't have to use their shop again. I suggest to everyone Do not trust anyone. It's my experience that there are people looking to cheat you at every chance. No I will not be using this place of business again. I saw numerous plaques on the wall, apparently they sponsor community groups. Which is nice, but not at the cost of over charging customers. I have since learned that this shop is not alone in charging double and triple hours labor. Apparently it's the normal practice of all mechanics. Most consult a manual and it tells a suggested time it should take to complete a job. If the book says 5 hrs and the mechanic completes it in 2hrs they all charge the Max regardless of how much time they actually worked. I am not sure if that violates any IRS rules or not. Also they can legally charge you whatever amount they want to charge. No one is monitoring this industry, they don't have to be licensed, or meet any background check, social & educational standards or continuing education. The average charge per hour is $150 which is outrageous even before they start double and triple charging labor hours.

Just recently moved down to South Carolina, and needed an oil change for the car I took down here! Nothing more than oil and a filter right? I call to see their prices for a base oil change, they quote "$45". When we get there they ask if I want filters replaced (common upsale, I understand it) and I decline as I just replaced them. 45 minutes later they say they cannot remove my oil filter, STILL try to charge me for it, and on top of that they put new filters in! All for the low price of $120. I was upset at that and requested my old filters (actually brand new from last oil change) and they put oily filters in!! About 1500 miles later I got a check engine light, and after MUCH difficulty we were able to diagnose it as a FILTHY MAF sensor right behind the oily filter! 0/5 never come here.

It's nice to have a reliable and hard working place in town that looks out for the customer and treats people kindly and fairly. They really go the extra mile for the customer. They work long hours and don't leave until the job is done. I recommend them even for those more vulnerable or timid members of the family. Safe, clean, welcoming place to sit while the work is done. Kind and skilled employees make me feel like a regular even though I've only been in a few times. Highly recommend.

Tony and Joy Staton are the real deal. Good people. Our vehicles go here for regular service. He has also done a rebuild of the front-end brakes and ball joints. Their tire prices beat Simpsonville tire stores. And done with a smile.
