TruckPro Introduce
For individuals and businesses in Salem, Oregon, operating heavy-duty trucks, commercial vehicles, or specialized equipment, finding a reliable supplier for parts and specialized services is essential. TruckPro, located at 1800 McGilchrist St SE, Salem, OR 97302, USA, positions itself within the "Auto Repair Stations" category as a destination for truck-specific needs. While not a traditional light-duty auto repair shop, TruckPro focuses on providing parts and services crucial for the upkeep and modification of larger vehicles, catering to a distinct segment of the automotive market.
The environment at TruckPro is geared towards the heavy-duty automotive sector, suggesting a practical and functional space designed to handle larger vehicle components and parts inventory. Customers can expect a setting where transactions for specialized truck parts and discussions about complex repairs take place. The reviews paint a mixed picture regarding the customer experience within this environment. While one customer highlights "good customer service" and a "timely" approach for a specific job, another expresses significant dissatisfaction with communication and follow-through, stating, "they never once called me back" and "they could care less." This suggests that while there might be dedicated staff, the overall consistency of the customer service experience can vary. The location on McGilchrist St SE places it in an area likely frequented by commercial vehicles and businesses, offering accessibility for its target clientele.
TruckPro offers a range of services and goods primarily focused on heavy-duty trucks and their components. Their services include **driveline shortening**, as explicitly mentioned by a customer who brought in front and rear drivelines for this modification. This indicates their capability in specialized fabrication and adjustment for vehicle powertrains. They are also a **supplier of truck parts**, evidenced by a customer purchasing a "$4500 dollar part." This suggests they carry a significant inventory of crucial and often expensive components essential for truck operation. The discussions around "gearbox rebuilt in-house" indicate that they might also offer or discuss **transmission and gearbox repair/rebuilding services**, even if the customer was advised against it in one instance. Their core business revolves around providing necessary parts and specialized mechanical work for the commercial and heavy-duty vehicle sector.
Several features contribute to the overall profile of TruckPro. On the positive side, they demonstrate the capability for **specialized mechanical work**, such as driveline shortening, which requires specific equipment and expertise not found at every auto shop. When successful, their work is described as "Great." They also act as a significant **parts supplier** for costly and crucial truck components. Another positive aspect, for some customers, is the **timeliness** of certain services once they are initiated, and generally **good customer service** during direct interactions or when the phone is answered. However, significant negative features are also highlighted, primarily concerning **inconsistent communication and follow-through**. One customer experienced "two months of 'I'll find out and call you back,' and they never once called me back," which severely impacted their vehicle's downtime. This lack of proactive communication and apparent indifference ("they could care less") stands out as a critical weakness. There's also an indication of potentially **discouraging in-house repairs** or directing customers elsewhere, as seen with the gearbox rebuild scenario. The stark contrast in experiences between customers, and one even comparing it unfavorably to a different TruckPro location, suggests a significant disparity in service quality that potential customers should consider.
While no explicit promotional information is provided, TruckPro's presence as a specialized heavy-duty truck parts and service center in Salem is its primary draw. For businesses and individuals needing specific truck components or services like driveline modifications, their specialization makes them a relevant option. However, the promotional impact is heavily tempered by the mixed customer reviews. The positive feedback highlights their capabilities for specific jobs and general customer service. Conversely, the negative experiences regarding communication and parts procurement serve as a significant cautionary note, suggesting that while they can supply parts and perform certain tasks, the customer journey might involve considerable frustration. Potential customers are advised to manage expectations regarding communication and potentially inquire about specific timelines and guarantees upfront. TruckPro can be reached at (503) 363-3159 or +1 503-363-3159 for inquiries regarding their specialized truck parts and services.

I stopped by with a front and rear drive line to be shortened. Before I came they told me they were about 3 days out, I think they called me 4 days later with the issues and a quote and the job was finished 2 days later. Great work, good customer service, and very timely as well.

They always answered the phone and sold me my 4500 dollar part when it arrived, but for two months of "I'll find out and call you back," and they never once called me back, meanwhile my truck was out of commission and they could care less. They vigorously talked me out of having my gearbox rebuilt in-house. The day before I finally called to tell them if my transmission wasn't there. I was going to take my core and go elsewhere, I called Transtar in Portland and they said they could have a three year warranties one on my doorstep in two days. Please consider other options. Did extensive business with the truckpro in Fresno before, but this is not the same place. Do yourself a favor and find a different parts supplier. Sad show here.

If I could give zero stars I would. We own a business and work out of one truck and needed the truck to be looked at because we think it might need a new drive line. We scheduled a day off work to have the truck looked at by appointment a month in advance at truck pro. We dropped the truck off and it was there the entire day, we find out 1 hour before they close that they did not look at it. So I schedule another appointment and another day off of work (since we can’t use the truck while it’s been looked at). I call them this morning to verify that the truck will be looked at today and I was told that they were extremely busy and were not going to look at it today even though we SCHEDULED an appointment twice in a one month period! DO NOT RECOMMEND, very disappointed with this terrible service we received. Will not go back again.

Awesome job on my driveline. However, employees needs to communicate with customers better. When i dropped my driveline off, I also informed them that I needed a new fixed yoke as well. At first they said it will be added to the price when the work order was done. My driveline was not ready for pick up until the 8th day. It was at that point they said the yoke I needed was discontinued from their sources and they don't have what I needed in stock. If they would have told me about that sooner, I could have bought one somewhere else (which I found one in less than 5 minutes) and not have to wait an extra week to install my new driveline. If 6 states would have informed me about the part being discontinued sooner, I would have given them the full 5 stars.

Been going there for years. I’ve had drive lines made there, bearing’s in stock and not China made. All at good prices and most of the time when I go in to get parts, I tell them what I need and they don’t even have to look it up. They know it by memory. Buy parts almost anywhere else, if it’s not in the computer, they don’t have it. Even though they have a book behind the counter they could use to figure it out
