Instances of quick service for specific procedures like oil changes are also noted. However, some customers have expressed concerns regarding communication, particularly in body work cases where external third parties might be involved without explicit disclosure. There have also been remarks about pricing for certain services, with some finding specific charges, such as for a license plate bulb replacement, to be significantly higher than expected. The dealership also implements a service fee for credit or debit card payments, which some customers have found surprising, especially when insurance companies may only cover the "cash" price. Additionally, issues regarding vehicle delivery, misplacement of personal items, and instances of perceived unprofessional conduct by some staff members have been mentioned in past feedback.

Toyota of Bay Ridge Service & Parts Customer Reviews

New car got rear ended and decided to get it repaired through the dealership instead of my regular guy. MAJOR MISTAKE. I asked if they send body work to a third party and they said no. Meanwhile a 3rd party place in Staten Island shows up as the body shop on insurance reports. I asked multiple times to stay updated on timing/what would be done to the vehicle/ negotiation decisions amongst the adjusters, don’t get an email with any information. Out of nowhere Toyota says my car is ready meanwhile I had not approved any of the work or even known what work they had in mind. When I show up, the sensors are improperly fitted. They didn’t even verify the service from their 3rd party body shop. Additionally the bills show a cash or credit price. Heads up, the credit also means DEBIT. 5% service fee DEBIT or credit card fee, I assume most people aren’t walking in with $1k+ in cash. Heads up your insurance only pays the cash fee so you need to have CASH OR CHECK to avoid paying the 5% out of your own pocket. Additional documentation of mind numbingly poor service: -I walked in to receive my car and the person at the desk said to just wait near the reps office and he’ll “show up eventually.” He wouldn’t call to let him know I had arrived. -They told me I could park my loaner in the bay and 5 minutes later rush in to ask me to move it. I put it in their lot where I verified it would be fine and they come running it yet again to move it. -accident happened outside of the shop and about 10 employees start saying “ah Chinese people you know?” -found a random car part in the storage behind the drivers seat. (Piece of plastic from who knows where). Will never come to this place again.

Have not been to the dealer’s service center for a few years and was quite surprised as to how things have changed. Very clean garage, helpful personnel, appointments adhered to. Waiting area was large, with a big screen TV, complimentary coffee and popcorn and comfortable seating. Spotless bathrooms. Parts department was very helpful and the fellow really went out of his way for me. My only issue: when the fellow was going over possible recommendations as to the work that needed to be done, I noticed one license plate bulb was needed replacement. One of those tiny bulbs. The charge would be: $98. No, I did not omit a decimal. NINETY EIGHT DOLLARS. I took a photo of the suggested work, with prices, paid for my oil change, drove to Auto Zone, paid $8.70 for a package of TWO bulbs and installed it myself. myself. Now I realize the dealer charges more and accept it as fact. But this bulb cost them a star.

Absolute crooks and a total scam. Toyota Badridge service department is a joke! They’ll rob you blind with ridiculous overcharges for basic repairs, and their customer service is non-existent. I took my car in for a simple oil change, and they tried to convince me I needed over $1,000 worth of ‘urgent’ repairs that didn’t even make sense. When I questioned their inflated prices, they acted like I was the problem! Don’t be fooled—these guys are out to scam you at every turn. I wouldn't trust them to wash a car, let alone fix one. Stay far, far away if you value your time, money, and sanity.

Drive my car in, and now I have to TOW it out. My Corolla side door that is difficult to open. They managed to fix it by make it not able to close. They show me a ridiculous bill to fix a door. They suggested me to pay the bill to fix it in their shop, or pay $400 to release the car and drive it out by holding the door with you left hand. As you see in the bill, they even could offer to clean my engine bay, while I was asking to fix the door. DON'T expect they will act in good faith, and DON'T waste time to talk to them. There is no way they will take responsibility through talk, and you will have to bite the bullet by taking your car here. And you can check other comments to support my observation. Filing a complaint with the VS-35 form to DMV to protect my right. I advise you to do so, in case you also got scammed by them.

Bay Ridge Toyota’s service department is a masterclass in ineptitude. I came in for an oil change and to get a service price, which—surprise!—was drastically different from what I was quoted on the phone. My appointment was at 9:30, and despite arriving early, I’ve now been sitting here for over 5 HOURS, which, I suppose, is their version of efficiency. And the best part? The number they text you from is completely useless. They don’t respond to texts, and calling it is apparently out of the question. I can only assume their “customer service” training involves teaching people how to ignore you for hours. To top it all off, their prices are laughably high for a level of service that’s somehow even more disappointing than their incompetence. If you want to experience how badly a business can mismanage your time and money, this is the place. For the rest of you, I highly recommend looking elsewhere—unless, of course, you enjoy being treated like a complete afterthought. I like Giovanni the cashier. The tall goofy fella in glasses that retrieves cars from the parking lot drives like an infant.
