This establishment aims to provide an affordable alternative to brand-new tires, offering a constantly rotating inventory of various sizes and manufacturers. Environment and Customer Experience

The environment at Tires To Go, while focused on providing budget-friendly options, appears to have varied customer experiences. One customer enthusiastically praised the "THE BEST all-around professional service" provided by Danny and the "Gold Star" assistance of the female office manager. This suggests that when the experience is positive, customers feel well-cared for, receiving professional advice and support throughout the tire purchasing and installation process. The emphasis on being "professional" and "greatly assisted" points to a service-oriented approach from key staff members. However, another review highlights significant concerns regarding "poor customer service" and trustworthiness, specifically citing a discrepancy in agreements and a lack of recollection on the part of the staff. This indicates that while some customers experience exceptional service, others might encounter challenges with communication and agreement follow-through. It underscores the importance of clear communication and, potentially, written confirmation for transactions.

Comprehensive Services

As an "Auto Repair Station" with a specialized focus, Tires To Go primarily offers services related to tires, though their capabilities may extend to other basic automotive needs given the nature of an auto repair station. Their core services include:

  • Sale of Used Tires: This is their standout service. They maintain an "ever constantly rotating inventory of different tire sizes from all the different manufacturers," including popular brands like Michelin Defender. This allows customers to find "Like New" tires at significantly reduced prices compared to new ones, sometimes "about 1/2 the price of all the big box tire stores." They cater to those looking for individual tires or a complete set of slightly used tires.
  • Tire Mounting: They professionally mount tires onto your vehicle's rims.
  • Tire Balancing: Proper tire balancing is crucial for vehicle performance and tire longevity, and they provide this service to ensure a smooth ride.
  • Rubber Valve Stems: As part of tire installation, they likely include new rubber valve stems.
  • Tire Disposal: They handle the proper disposal of old tires.
  • TPMS Reset: They perform TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) resets, which is necessary after tire service to ensure the system functions correctly.
  • Used Tire Quality Assurance: While selling used tires, the positive review suggests that some of their inventory, like the Michelin Defender tires, can be "less than a year old," implying a focus on quality used options.
  • Additional Auto Services (Potential): While not explicitly detailed, as an "Auto Repair Station," it's common for such businesses to offer basic complementary services beyond just tires, such as flat repair or possibly basic brake inspections, though their primary focus remains tires.
Key Features and Advantages

Tires To Go offers several compelling features, particularly for budget-conscious consumers:

  • Affordable Used Tires: Their primary advantage is the availability of "Like New" or slightly used tires at highly competitive prices, making them a very attractive option for those looking to save money on tire replacements.
  • Constantly Rotating Inventory: The dynamic nature of their inventory means customers have a fresh selection of tire sizes and brands to choose from regularly. This requires checking with them frequently to find specific needs.
  • Professional Mounting and Balancing: Beyond just selling tires, they provide the essential services to ensure they are properly installed and balanced on your vehicle for safety and performance.
  • Customer Service (Variable): While inconsistencies have been noted, instances of "THE BEST all-around professional service" and helpful office management indicate a capacity for excellent customer care.
  • Local Business Appeal: As a local Minneapolis establishment, they offer an alternative to larger chains, appealing to those who prefer supporting community businesses.
  • Quick Turnaround (Implied): Getting a tire "mounted, and balancing" implies a relatively quick process for individual tire services.
Promotional Information

Tires To Go's main "promotional" appeal lies in its fundamental business model: providing affordable used tires. The significant price difference compared to new tires from "big box tire stores" (reportedly "about 1/2 the price") serves as a continuous draw for customers. They don't seem to rely on traditional, time-limited promotional offers as much as on their core value proposition of cost savings. However, the presence of a "constantly rotating inventory" means that the specific deals available are always changing, which can be seen as an ongoing, dynamic promotion of unique finds. Customers are encouraged to visit or call to see the current stock and pricing. For example, finding "Like New" Michelin Defender tires at a steep discount is a promotional win for the customer. It's crucial for customers to communicate clearly and confirm pricing and agreements to ensure a positive outcome, especially given the varying customer experiences noted in reviews.

To take advantage of their offerings or inquire about specific tire sizes and brands, it's best to directly contact Tires To Go at (612) 261-9562 or +1 612-261-9562. Visiting their location at 2223 Snelling Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55404, USA, would allow customers to browse their current inventory firsthand and discuss their needs with the staff.

Tires To Go Customer Reviews

Danny @ Tires To Go provided THE BEST all -around professional service regarding the purchase, mounting, and balancing of these “Like New” Michelin Defender tires (less than a year old!)…at about 1/2 the price of all the big box tire stores!! Note, they have an ever constantly rotating inventory of different tire sizes from all the different manufacturers….so highly recommend to check them out if you’re ever in the market for just one or a complete set of slightly used tires. Last but not least, the female office manager also greatly assisted throughout the tire purchasing and installation process - and is absolutely a Gold Star person!!

Poor customer service! Not trustworthy at all. We discussed purchasing a different set of tires because the ones sold were defective. Called back after 3 days and he doesn’t have a clue of the agreement and he says now, “I can’t compete with online prices.” After asking me how much I wanted to spend and I said $800, I just spent $400 on the used set. Make sure you get your deals in writing, because this guy forgets and is clearly an opportunist. I won’t return nor recommend.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. Worst tire shop I’ve ever dealt with—no respect for customers and zero professionalism. I brought my Audi in for a specific tire model. They installed four mismatched tires, swore they were “basically the same,” and gave me a bogus 30-day warranty. My car immediately started making noise and the tires began damaging the vehicle. For the next three weeks the owner kept promising, “I’ll call when the right tires arrive.” Each time I phoned, he claimed they still hadn’t come in. I finally drove over and a worker—thinking I was a new customer—told me the correct tires were in stock and asked if I wanted them installed that day. As soon as the owner appeared, he switched to his native language and repeated that the tires “still aren’t here.” Twenty-plus days later, nothing was fixed. Rude staff, fake promises, and zero accountability. Total scam. Stay away.
