Philip has great customer service! I lost power on my way home from work and I pulled over to the nearest shop and Philip was able to have my car serviced and running by the following day! I will definitely be coming back, it’s always hard finding someone who you can trust (as a female) I appreciate his honesty. I am glad I found this shop! Was having issues with my Ford F250 when I got to Cali coming from Texas. Had no idea where to take my truck but so thankful to come upon Terry’s on Google. It is always scary not knowing who to trust when you’re out of town. The gentlemen here were so friendly and helped me out immediately with the issues I was having. If I lived here, they would be my go to! Thanks for your help today; very much appreciated!

Place is trash. The master mechanic wouldn’t even attempt to help try and pin point a lean condition with fuel trim readings. Save your time and money he even openly expressed that they are struggling finding a lean condition on a 94 pick up truck. FUEL TRIM values will always point you in the right direction. Update: a shop within a mile from here gladly spoke to me about my live data results and based off the fuel trim readings and codes that I have point to the injectors or even the lifters on bank 2(based on prior work) They even advised that even though the lean condition is specific to bank 2 and is not affecting bank 1 to not rule out a weak fuel pump or clogged filter. Literally only took 10 minutes of his time to talk to me and now they have gained a customer.

This place is not like a dealership that does nothing but upsell. I brought my car in and they fixed the problem within 15 minutes. The young man they have working there (Austin) is a very nice and professional person. This place is lucky to have him.

I have been taking my car to Terry’s Auto in San Marcos for a few years now and I am super happy with them. They have excellent customer service and are very trustworthy. A couple of months ago my car stalled out on I-5 in La Jolla and I was towed to an auto repair place in San Diego that I was not familiar with and found out I needed a new fuel pump. The auto repair place also said my car needed 3 other repairs, which would make the total about $2000. Long story short, I ended up just getting the fuel pump replaced and then drove to Terry’s Auto the next day. They checked over my car and said that my car did not need the three other repairs. They also could have replaced the fuel pump for $300 to $400 less than the other place. I ended up having the other auto repair replace the fuel pump because they were going to charge me a $300 diagnostic fee and I would have had to pay to have my car towed from San Diego to San Marcos where Terry’s Auto is located. I saved $1000 in unnecessary repairs having Terry’s Auto check my car first and would have saved an extra $300 to $400, if they had replaced the fuel pump. It is such a relief to have an honest auto repair shop like Terry’s.

They were able to take me in the day of for emergency brake work, and I was able to get my car back the same morning. Charges very fair and honest. Logan and Philip were awesome and very communicative throughout the whole process, definitely will come back for any issues I have in the future
