Sun-Lite Corporation Introduce

Sun-Lite Corporation, located at 3525 Lancaster Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19104, operates as a specialized business focused on window film solutions, rather than an "Auto Repair Station" as initially categorized. While the prompt asks for an introduction to a "car repair" business, the information provided, particularly the customer review and detailed company information, clearly indicates that Sun-Lite Corporation is a leading provider and installer of 3M window films for buildings, not vehicles. They can be contacted at (215) 222-4022.

Environment and Operational Model

Sun-Lite Corporation maintains a physical office at 3525 Lancaster Ave, which serves as their base of operations. Their primary service model involves on-site installation of window films at customer locations, including residential homes, commercial properties, and institutions. This means their "environment" of service is varied, encompassing diverse architectural settings across Southeastern Pennsylvania, South Jersey, and Delaware. The company was co-founded in 1985 by Joan E. Schiff, who has served as President since 1990, establishing a long-standing presence and expertise in the window film industry. They are a 3M-authorized installer of 3M Prestige Window Films and other window shading devices, signifying their adherence to high industry standards and access to premium products. Furthermore, Sun-Lite Corporation is a certified Women's Business Enterprise (WBE), which reflects their commitment to diversity and professional standards.

Services Offered

Sun-Lite Corporation's services are exclusively centered around window film installation and related consulting, not automotive repair. Their offerings are comprehensive within their specialized field and provide specific goods (various types of 3M window films) and services (consultation, auditing, installation, and estimates) for sale. These services are designed to enhance comfort, durability, efficiency, safety, and security within buildings. Key service areas include:

  • Sun Control Films: These films are designed to reduce glare and overheating, making indoor spaces more comfortable and potentially lowering energy costs by reducing the need for excessive air conditioning.

  • Low E (Low Emissivity) Films: These films help improve energy efficiency by reflecting heat back into the room during colder months and keeping heat out during warmer months, leading to significant energy savings.

  • Safety & Security Films: These films strengthen existing glass, making it more resistant to breakage from impacts, break-ins, and natural disasters. They help hold shattered glass together, enhancing personal safety and crime protection.

  • Anti-Graffiti Film: A sacrificial layer of film that protects glass surfaces from graffiti, scratches, and etching. If vandalized, the film can be removed and replaced without damaging the underlying glass, offering a cost-effective solution for property managers.

  • Decorative & Privacy Films: These films offer aesthetic enhancements and privacy solutions, allowing for customized designs, patterns, and opacities to transform glass surfaces in homes and offices.

  • Daylight Redirecting Film: A specialized film that redirects natural light deeper into a room, reducing the need for artificial lighting and improving interior brightness without glare.

  • Art Preservation: A unique specialization of Sun-Lite, they work with institutions like the Philadelphia Museum of Art to select and install window films that protect invaluable artwork from sun damage and fading, demonstrating expertise in this niche application.

  • Consulting and Audits: Beyond installation, they provide expert advice and perform audits to determine the most suitable window film solutions for specific building needs and energy conservation goals.

Their mission is focused on making buildings more durable, efficient, safe, and secure through their window film solutions, with a strong emphasis on energy conservation and art preservation.

This demonstrates a deep commitment to customer well-being over immediate profit, a rare quality that fosters immense trust and goodwill.

  • Expert Knowledge and Consultation: Joan's ability to discuss "film options for the skylight to protect our artwork" showcases a profound knowledge of their products and their applications, including specialized areas like art preservation. This consultative approach helps customers make informed decisions.

The company's focus on "doing the right thing by our customers, employees, suppliers, community and environment" and their dedication to "make our customers more comfortable and their buildings more durable, efficient, safe and secure" further underscore their commitment to quality and ethical business practices.

Promotional Information

Sun-Lite Corporation Customer Reviews

I would highly recommend this company. We previously had film installed on an exterior skylight by another company. The film started to peel off so I called the company that installed the film (for frame of reference the call was made in 2022. After many e-mails, phone calls to them - they never responded beyond our first phone call asking them to come to replace the film. Found out the company's owner retired and a new person took it over. So I called 3M customer service for help and was given Sun-Lite's phone number to contact them for replacement of our film. I found out that they do not service our area. Mind you I gave the 3m customer rep our zip code so he could locate one closer to our area. Joan helped me more than the 3M customer service representative in finding a company closer to us. She didn't have to do that, she didn't have to discuss film options for the skylight to protect our artwork, she didn't have to call a competitor to discuss our problem and see if they were willing to come to our home - but she did! She wasn't getting our business, she wasn't making any money doing what she did for us. Now that's customer service - just wish they traveled further - but an hour and a half is a bit much for one skylight. Thank you Joan for your time, patience and overall kindness in helping two senior citizens resolve their problem.
