I made an appointment for an oil change here and decided to wait in the waiting area while they completed it. I sat in the waiting area for 2 hours before any information was given on my vehicle and it was only given once I called for an update. I was then told there was an issue that would require parts to be removed but they were not able to give me a quote or estimate on cost or time to repair it. When I said that I had been waiting for 2 hours already, I was told “well, you came early for your appointment.” I was 10 minutes early, not 2 hours… I ended up having someone pick me up, leaving my car overnight to be worked on. This is not the first time I’ve waited hours for them to change my oil and had to leave because I had other things to do and couldn’t wait around all day for it. They have no respect for anyone’s time.

I haven't bought a car here, but I have both Subarus I've owned so far serviced here and only here when I can help it (out of state sometimes). I owned a '16 Forester for 4 years before it was totaled in a rear end accident, and owned a '17 Forester for about a year now that I bought soon after I lost me previous one. The REV Rewards they offer through their service department have gotten me out of a jam once now. In 2019, my '16 got a nail in the tire but I was blissfully unaware. When I took it in for regular maintenance (probably) the same day, they refused to let me leave with the car in that shape and offered to patch the tire FOR FREE. When they came back and said that the nail was too deep and did too much damage, they offered to replace the tire at a discount, and my REV Rewards from previous oil changes, brake pad replacement, and other regular maintenance meant that I didn't pay a cent for anything that day. I haven't had a case like that since. However, I've continued to see the service department charge competitive pricing compared to getting my oil change done at Valvoline or Jiffy Lube, usually quite a bit cheaper when I bundle in other maintenance. Additionally, I've never been pushed to get maintenance done that was not required. They always deliver me promptly a text to a link with the full inspection of my car and what items are critical, near critical or non-critical. Typically I go with getting as much done in a visit as possible because I like to know that I'm all set when I leave. I don't end up at the dealership very much, maybe 2-3x/yr for the oil change itself and half the time they don't recommend anything else be done on my car. I just recently got my 90K mileage service done and was surprised to see the estimate be as low as it was. I'm confident this is the THE place in Dayton for Subaru service. I'm a very happy customer of 5 years and will continue to utilize this service department until either I don't own a Subaru anymore (with this economy I never know), or have to move out of the state.
