Do not let this place touch anything of value. The way they do their installs is the laziest, quickest way they can possibly get things done without any regard for the consequences. The attention to detail from these technicians is non existent. So is the respect for your hard earned money. Instead of taking some extra time to run wires in places they should be, they decided to put cables under the gas tank of my bike and then crank it back down and smash them between the frame and tank. They also ran the ground cable for my amp under the frame rail which then melted onto my cylinder heads. There is an entire spine on this motorcycle which is meant for containing cables and running them from the front of the bike to the back, which was never accessed because they were too lazy and worried about squeezing every penny out of the job to do it the right way. The way the wires were shoved into the back of my fairing and twisted into a disaster was just ridiculous. Whoever put this system together was either new or legitimately did not care about their workmanship at all. If they had used less wire loom than they did instead of trying to cut corners on time, it would have been a more profitable job. The cable for the hand controls never worked after my $5000+ install because the brand new cable was broken from the way they ran it. When this job was done, two days afterwards one of the speakers they installed came loose and flopped around on top of my saddlebag and tore up the paint while I was riding. It’s astounding that the speaker stayed on the bike. When I called about this, the mangers response was that this job was done several years ago and without seeing the bike or being allowed to fix it there was nothing they could do. I explained that I wouldn’t let them work on my bike ever again to which I was wished a good day and hung up on. Do not waste your money on this slap shop. Find a place that will take their time and treat your vehicles with respect and don’t waste your money. This was all easily avoidable stuff that resulted in pure laziness and working too fast to try to beat the clock. 5K wasted. Don’t make the mistake I did. Read the rest of their bad reviews.

A month ago, Street Legal tinted the front windows on my minivan. Today, Street Legal made it right by re-tinting the driver’s window to remove four pesky air bubbles shown in the before-and-after photos. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t make an issue out of something so small but the bubbles were right in front of the driver’s view of the driver’s side mirror so I couldn’t help but notice them. Having grown up in Algonquin, I’ve driven by this place thousands of times wondering how a local shop can stay in business by tinting, car audio, and wheels, especially in an era of multinational corporations monopolizing market share and putting profitability over customer satisfaction. instead of throwing shade at a customer's tinting concerns, Street Legal staff stood behind their work with no questions, no hassles, and a no nonsense focus on customer satisfaction. Local matters. You don’t always have to get it right but you do have to make it right. Evidently, Street Legal shares this uncommon business ethic by demonstrating their responsibility to make it right, deliver high quality work, and, ultimately, stand the test of time. Well done Street Legal.

I recently took my Subaru STI to StreetLegal in Algonquin, IL for a full package—tints, full audio system, new wheels, a complete radar system, and upgraded lights. From start to finish, I was extremely impressed by their professionalism, attention to detail, and overall customer service. The quality of the work exceeded my expectations.
