Stockman & Son Introduce
Stockman & Son, an establishment categorized as an "Auto Repair Station," is located at 1002 Lagrange St, Toledo, OH 43608. They can be reached via phone at (419) 243-8433 or +1 419-243-8433. As an "Auto Repair Station," Stockman & Son presumably offers various services related to vehicle maintenance and repair. Based on the provided customer feedback, the services appear to include auto body work, specifically paint jobs, and potentially frame repair, given one customer's explicit need for such a service. This designation implies that the facility is equipped to handle structural and cosmetic aspects of vehicle damage, going beyond basic mechanical repairs typically associated with general auto service shops.
Based on the provided customer reviews, there is no direct information detailing the physical environment of Stockman & Son. However, as an "Auto Repair Station" that handles services like paint jobs and potentially frame repair, one would anticipate a facility that includes specialized areas for these tasks. A paint booth, a dedicated area for bodywork, and tools for frame straightening would be standard for such operations. The cleanliness and organization of the workspace are crucial for achieving high-quality results in auto body repair, especially paintwork. The absence of positive commentary on the environment suggests that it may not be a focal point of their customer experience, or perhaps it aligns with typical expectations for an industrial repair setting. The address on Lagrange St. indicates a presence within Toledo, suggesting accessibility for local vehicle owners seeking these types of specialized repairs.
From the customer reviews, two specific service areas can be inferred for Stockman & Son, operating as an "Auto Repair Station":
- Auto Body Repair and Painting: One review explicitly mentions issues with a "paint job," including "bubbles and dirt in the paint job," "orange peel," and an inability to "match the paint correctly." This strongly indicates that auto body painting is a service they offer. The mention of "taping off the areas the right way" further supports their involvement in cosmetic repairs.
- Frame Repair: Another customer clearly states, "I really need the repair to my frame," when attempting to get an estimate from the business. This suggests that Stockman & Son either performs frame repair services or is perceived by customers as a facility that could address such a complex structural issue. Frame repair is a specialized service that requires specific equipment and expertise to restore a vehicle's structural integrity after a collision.
Given the focus on these more specialized, collision-related services, it is likely that Stockman & Son primarily operates as an auto body shop within the broader "Auto Repair Station" category, rather than a general mechanical repair shop that handles engine work or routine maintenance.
The features of Stockman & Son, as described by the available customer reviews, present a mixed and largely negative picture.
- Reported Poor Quality of Work: A significant feature, as highlighted by one customer, is the perceived "very poor quality of a work." Specific issues mentioned include "bubbles and dirt in the paint job," "orange peel even in some areas," and an inability to "match the paint correctly." This indicates potential concerns regarding the precision and finish of their auto body paint services. The phrase "not like it used to be" suggests a decline in quality compared to previous experiences or reputation.
- Reported Rude Customer Service and Communication Issues: The second review details severe communication problems and rudeness from an individual named Jim. This includes failing to show up for an appointment, offering vague timeframes, and twice hanging up on a customer during a sensitive inquiry about a crucial repair. This behavior reflects a significant issue with customer service and professionalism, creating a highly negative impression and a breakdown in trust. The refusal to "deal with me" and the repeated hanging up on a prospective client are critical negative features.
- Potential Inconsistency: The "not like it used to be" comment might imply inconsistency in service or quality over time, or possibly a change in management or personnel that has impacted their operations.
Based on these reviews, the defining features appear to be a reported lack of quality control in paintwork and a concerning level of unprofessionalism and poor communication in customer interactions. These aspects would be critical for any potential customer to consider when evaluating an "Auto Repair Station" for their vehicle needs, especially for services that are often significant investments like paint and frame repair.
The provided customer reviews contain no positive promotional information for Stockman & Son. Instead, they serve as strong negative testimonials that would likely deter potential customers. In the context of an "Auto Repair Station," word-of-mouth and customer satisfaction are primary drivers of business. The reviews explicitly state "very very very very very very disappointed in this place" and "I would not recommend him or his business to anyone." Such strong negative feedback acts as anti-promotional material, significantly damaging the business's reputation. There is no mention of special offers, discounts, or loyalty programs. The perceived decline in quality and the reported rude customer service would overshadow any potential promotional efforts. For a business in the service industry, especially one categorized as an "Auto Repair Station" where reliability and trust are paramount, these public negative experiences effectively work against any form of positive promotion, making it challenging to attract new clients based on the available information.

Called to get an estimate and a time frame for a repair, Jim offered to.come look at the vehicle then never showed up. He called the next morning and told me that his car was in the shop and he couldn't make it but could come that day. I asked him what time he would be able to come and he kept telling me he didn't know, then HUNG UP on me. I called back, as i really need the repair to my frame, I told him a rough time frame would be good enough and that I didnt appreciate him hanging up on me. He then told me he didn't want to deal with me and hung up on me again. This man was extremely rude. I would not recommend him or his business to anyone.

Went with my buddy to pick his car up. He says he’s been doing this for 50 years but doesn’t look like he’s been doing it for 50 hours. Terrible attitude. Definitely don’t recommend
