Glass City Sounds Car Audio & Powersports, situated at 225 1st St, Toledo, OH 43605, operates as a specialized "Auto Repair Station" within the niche fields of car audio and powersports customization. They can be reached via phone at (419) 378-6658 or +1 419-378-6658. While not a traditional mechanical repair shop, this establishment falls under the "Auto Repair Station" category by providing specialized installation, customization, and repair services for automotive and powersports electronic systems and accessories. Their unique focus sets them apart from general auto repair garages, catering to clients seeking enhanced in-vehicle entertainment, security, and performance for their cars, trucks, or powersports vehicles.
Based on the specialized services offered by Glass City Sounds Car Audio & Powersports, the environment of this "Auto Repair Station" would typically be structured to facilitate precision installation and customization of sensitive electronic equipment. One would expect a clean, organized workshop space, possibly with dedicated bays for vehicle entry. Given their focus on car audio, there might be sound-dampened areas for audio testing or custom enclosure fabrication. Displays of car audio equipment, speakers, amplifiers, and various powersports accessories would likely be present in a showroom or waiting area, allowing customers to browse product options. The work performed often involves meticulous wiring, panel removal, and reinstallation, so a tidy and well-lit workspace is crucial. The location on 1st St in Toledo suggests a presence in a potentially accessible urban or commercial area, convenient for customers seeking these specific customization services.
As an "Auto Repair Station" specializing in car audio and powersports, Glass City Sounds would primarily offer services related to the installation, repair, and customization of electronic systems and related accessories. These services would typically include, but are not limited to:
- Car Audio Installation: This is a core service, covering everything from basic stereo upgrades to complex multi-speaker systems, amplifiers, subwoofers, and digital sound processors.
- Custom Fabrication: The mention of "custom door and box built in trunk" in a review indicates their capability in custom enclosure fabrication, which involves building bespoke housings for speakers and subwoofers to optimize sound quality and fit within the vehicle's interior.
- Powersports Customization: While not detailed in reviews, "Powersports" in the name suggests services for ATVs, UTVs, motorcycles, or boats, potentially involving audio installations, lighting upgrades, or other electronic enhancements for these vehicles.
- Alarm and Remote Start Installation: Common offerings in car electronics shops for enhanced vehicle security and convenience.
- Navigation and Multimedia Systems: Installation of integrated GPS, rearview cameras, and infotainment units.
- Lighting Upgrades: Installation of custom interior and exterior LED lighting.
It's important to note that the customer reviews raise significant concerns about the completion and professionalism of these services, which will be discussed further in the "Features" section.
The features of Glass City Sounds Car Audio & Powersports, as revealed by customer reviews, are unfortunately characterized by significant negative experiences related to communication and service delivery.
- Reported Poor Communication: A dominant feature, as highlighted by multiple customers, is a severe lack of communication. Attempts to schedule appointments or get updates via phone and text were met with "no response." The voicemail suggesting "faster response text your question" contradicts the actual experience, leading to frustration. This indicates a critical breakdown in customer service communication channels.
- Reported Unprofessionalism: One customer explicitly states, "Don’t take your car here he very unprofessional." This encompasses several aspects, including not keeping up on work, giving vague responses like "ASAP" to avoid further contact, and not answering calls or texts. This suggests a disregard for customer expectations and professional conduct.
- Reported Incomplete Work: A major concern is the claim that work was "didn’t finish" on a "custom door and box built in trunk," forcing the customer to "take it somewhere else to get done." This points to a significant issue with project completion and quality assurance, leaving customers with unfinished and unusable installations.
- Customer Dissatisfaction: The overall sentiment from the reviews is one of profound disappointment and regret. Phrases like "Very disappointing," "skip these guys," and strong recommendations to go elsewhere (e.g., "Premier Audio in Ann Arbor") clearly indicate a high level of customer dissatisfaction due to the issues described.
These features, as reported by customers, present a challenging picture for Glass City Sounds Car Audio & Powersports, particularly concerning reliability, accountability, and customer trust. The emphasis on "quality work at a great price" at a competing business further underscores what customers expect and allegedly did not receive from Glass City Sounds.
Based on the provided customer reviews, there is no positive promotional information for Glass City Sounds Car Audio & Powersports. Instead, the reviews serve as significant negative testimonials, which effectively act as anti-promotional material. In the "Auto Repair Station" category, especially for specialized services like car audio where customer trust and satisfaction are paramount, negative word-of-mouth can severely impact a business's reputation and ability to attract new clients. The explicit advice to "skip these guys" and the recommendation to "make the drive up north if you want quality work at a great price" directly discourage potential customers from utilizing their services. The reported issues with communication, professionalism, and incomplete work are strong deterrents that would likely outweigh any potential positive marketing efforts. For a business in the service industry, customer reviews are a powerful form of promotion, and in this instance, they convey a very negative message about the operational reliability and customer experience at Glass City Sounds Car Audio & Powersports.

Glass City Sounds Car Audio & Powersports Customer Reviews
Tried to call to schedule an appointment during normal hours and on the voicemail it said for faster response text your question. I received a response and then explained what needed done- no response. Tried again- no response. Very disappointing. Ended up taking the car to Premier Audio in Ann Arbor and was thrilled- suggest making the drive up north if you want quality work at a great price- skip these guys.

I’m going to agree with Ryan M. If they are not interested in your project they will just ghost you. Called and got VM, texted as instructed for a faster response and I received a text back hours later asking for additional info. I responded and never heard back from anyone?

Great dudes work here, the absolute go to place to go with any car audio needs. Don’t waste your time with shops like Car Stereo One. These dudes are real enthusiasts, great service, I wouldn’t take my business anywhere else.
