This independent automotive group, led by Max, has been a blessing. He is an honest mechanic who diagnosed an issue with my X5 that turned out to be a very expensive repair. However, he discovered that the part was still covered under an extended part warranty, AKA Recall, even though the vehicle was out of warranty at BMW. Max could have easily kept this information from me and charged me thousands of dollars, but his honesty reflects his character. I deeply appreciate his honesty and consider him a good man.

Three o’clock on a Friday afternoon & our Hazard lights on the car wouldn’t turn off. Enter Star Tech Auto - a literal guess as to who to call since we are not from the San Clemente area. Boy were we lucky! Max said “bring it on in and I’ll have a look.” He had the problem figured out in less than a minute and within 10 minutes a part was replaced & we were on our way. The business is clean, professionally run and friendly workers. Fantastic experience 👏👏

I'm super disappointed in my visit here. I spent over $300 and the employee/owner printed off a page of hundreds of items that were "wrong" with my car, but he said it could've been that the battery was low on my car. Instead of rechecking, he told me that he doesn't know exactly what my car needs but "possibly" a few items but he isn't sure. And then he asked for $300, where $200 is for diagnosing the issues. He never mentioned anything of the sort when I was there in person twice. Only until I was leaving he asked for money, but that money didn't get me anywhere because now I have to go to another shop to be certain what is wrong with my car. I don't know why there are other high reviews...I came away thinking he didn't know what was going on!
