Ok, we all have a mechanic we trust when at home. But in this case we are from out of town, now what do you do? After asking Paso locals, we decided to call Spring Street Auto. As I understand it this is a family owned and operated business. In talking with them (Friday morning) they were up front that they could work on, but might not be able to get all fixed by the time they closed (parts, other jobs, all played a part of not getting finished). In that case, it wouldn’t be until the next week before we could get truck back (closed on weekends). Note, we were leaving the next day to head back home. After talking to them I felt comfortable having vehicle towed over. Felt even more comfortable in the case the truck would need to be stored until I could get back to Paso. Upon meeting them in person (the daughter receptionist, her husband the mechanic, dad wasn’t around). I really felt they would do all they could to get us handled. At about 15 minutes before they closed, they called and said truck is ready. We hustled over and picked up the truck. I felt they went above and beyond, giving me great service by under committing and over delivering. Based on searches of cost for a repair like this, they were right on the average cost. Really pleased with the service. My experience gives them 5 stars!!

Went there for a smog check... Exact price as quoted over phone earlier ,very nice people and quick service. I will be using them again in the future.

Great folks here. My truck was stranded while I was visiting friends in Paso, and I had to have Ron and Matt put a new head in my Ranger. With parts delays things took a super long time and they were very patient and friendly about the whole deal, and helping me schedule time to come back to pick it up. They tested the fix very thoroughly to be sure I could travel back and pick it up; unfortunately I had a minor complication but they sprang back into action and made sure I would be on my way the next day. I'd happily bring my business here again.

I have to say, I am so disappointed that I was treated as I was. I dropped off my 1998 Lexus and told they would call me upon completion. There was no call and I showed up 20 minutes after the quoted time to check in. The owner was obviously having a difficult and stressful day, as I could tell my his expressions and short temper. He snapped at me that my car was done and had been done. Proceeded to charge me $80 for my smog check. I gave him my card. As he was running it he notified me “Your car didn’t pass smog”. Wish I’d read reviews. I was shocked I still had to pay full price and that he didn’t even tell me until after I was charged. He told me they were not responsible if it passed or failed and I’d be charged $20 less next time. I asked what I had to do to get it to pass and he vaguely told me to drive it 20 minutes one way and back at 55 miles an hour and try again. I need to go get it done again and I’m already out $80. Other places I’ve called since charge only $50 and $40 if it doesn’t pass.
