Continental Battery Systems of Paso Robles

My car just died and I knew I needed a new battery so, when I called Battery Systems of Paso Robles I was not expecting them to go above and beyond in service. When I told Matthew that I was going to call AAA, he said not to worry, he'd come and start my car for me. So unexpected but great because it saved a AAA visit. He came to my house and helped me, very friendly and gave me a great price (including installation) on a battery for my car. I didn't even need an appointment. REALLY NICE! Great service and I highly recommend this place to everyone:) Thank you Matthew for all your help:) You turned a not-so good day into a great one.

We were traveling through Paso Robles and realized that the house batteries on our RV were not functioning consistently, per the meter on our control panel. We googled RV batteries and found this place. Rex answered my questions and taught me about maintaining deep cycle batteries as he installed two new ones to replace the six year old ones that we had, at a very reasonable price. Heartily recommend.

Just a word of caution about pricing, which has nothing to do with the good staff or service at the Paso Robles brick and mortar store. I looked first to the Battery Systems website to select a new battery. In doing so, I selected Battery Systems of Paso Robles as "my store". I then used their online tool to determine the size and fitment of the battery. Many options were shown along with the price info for each battery. I selected an Odyssey AGM battery, which was shown on the website for $295 dollars. I phoned the store and found it was in stock, so I drove there to purchase the battery. Upon purchase, I found that I was charged $336 dollars not $295, that's $41 more dollars than shown online. To be clear, that's just for the battery, no other fees or taxes applied. The next day I went to the store to return the old battery core. While there, I brought this issue up to Rex since the price increase isn't shown anywhere on the itemized list for which I chose my battery (it's only shown if you attempt to purchase it online, and then on another page it says something to the effect "online special". Rex explained he is well aware of the issue and has tried to get the issue corrected without success. So buyer beware, if you buy from the local store, call and ask for the price and do not use the online information as provided for the store.

Had them replace a battery in a newer Cadillac. It has a rather complicated system with additional wires and terminals at the battery, but they said they could do it. They hooked up a "battery minder" to preserve the electronic settings, then replaced the battery. He removed the battery minder and said they were done, I tried to start the car - nothing. He checked and found that he had not tightened one of the terminals. Then it would start, but nothing would light up on the panel. He checked some more, and found they he forgot to tighten other terminals. It seems that everything works okay, but I am not certain yet. Wow - what a case of not double checking everything before turning it over to the customer. Not Happy!

I met Hector at the Golden State Classic Car Show in Paso Robles. He was a vendor. He offered several battery related products. I bought a solar panel that give the car battery a drip charge to keep it charged. I explained my intended usage (slightly different). he allowed me to try it during the show (I also was a vendor & we were neighbors at the show - I am not local to him). He checked with me twice during the show to make sure it was performing as we had hoped that it would. I didn't do a blind test to prove that the solar panel achieved my purpose but circumstantial evidence says that it did. Even if it had not, Hector was prepared to stand by his product.
