Schlicht Automotive Introduce

Schlicht Automotive, located at S4740 Nottingham Rd, Viroqua, WI 54665, USA, operates as an Auto Repair Station serving the local community and surrounding areas. This establishment provides a range of services aimed at diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicles. As a point of interest for local users seeking automotive care, understanding the various facets of Schlicht Automotive, including its environment, services, features, and customer perceptions, is key.

Regarding the environment of Schlicht Automotive, information gathered from public reviews suggests a practical and operational setting typical of an auto repair shop. While specific details about customer waiting areas or amenities are not available, the focus appears to be on the repair work itself. The reference to "the heat in the shop isn't working" in one customer review indicates that it is a working garage, and like many repair facilities, it experiences the day-to-day realities of maintaining a service environment. The primary function of an auto repair station is to provide a space for vehicle diagnostics and repair, and Schlicht Automotive, like others in its category, is equipped for this purpose. Customers visiting the establishment would likely find a functional space dedicated to automotive service.

Schlicht Automotive offers various vehicle repair and maintenance services. Based on customer feedback, the services provided include, but are not limited to, addressing issues related to axles, catalytic converters, and check engine lights. One customer specifically mentioned that the mechanic, Paul Schlicht, is "incredibly well versed in Subarus," suggesting a potential specialization or strong proficiency in handling vehicles of this make. General auto repair stations typically provide services such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, engine diagnostics, suspension work, and exhaust system repairs. Given the nature of the reported issues (axle, catalytic converter, check engine light), it can be inferred that Schlicht Automotive performs more in-depth mechanical repairs beyond routine maintenance. The scope of services aims to get vehicles running properly and efficiently, addressing both common and more complex automotive problems.

The features of Schlicht Automotive, as gleaned from customer reviews, present a mixed picture. On the positive side, some customers highlight Paul Schlicht's knowledge and expertise, particularly with Subaru vehicles. One satisfied customer noted that he is "very knowledgeable, honest and reasonably priced," and appreciated the convenience of having a local option closer than a dealership in LaCrosse. This indicates a perceived benefit of localized, accessible, and competitively priced service for certain customers. However, other customer feedback points to significant concerns regarding the service and customer interaction. A detailed review describes instances of repeat issues after repairs, suggesting that initial fixes may not have been permanent. For example, an axle issue reportedly recurred within a few months, and a catalytic converter replacement for $3,000 did not resolve check engine light issues, which another mechanic later attributed to an unreplaced sensor. Furthermore, this review highlights concerns about customer service, specifically noting "incredibly short and rude" interactions and a perceived lack of "emotional control." This suggests that while technical knowledge might be a strength, the customer experience, particularly in challenging situations, may vary significantly. The review also raises an ethical concern, stating, "It's sad that mechanics take advantage of lay people," which suggests a perception of dishonesty or insufficient resolution of problems despite significant expenditure.

Regarding promotional information, there is no direct promotional content available for Schlicht Automotive. The information available consists of customer reviews, which, in themselves, act as a form of public perception and influence. The mixed nature of these reviews means that while some customers found the service to be knowledgeable and reasonably priced, others had very negative experiences, citing unresolved issues, significant expenses for repairs that didn't hold, and poor customer interaction. For local users considering Schlicht Automotive, these reviews would form the primary "promotional" or informational basis. The strong positive feedback about convenience and knowledge, particularly for Subaru owners, might attract some customers. Conversely, the detailed negative account regarding repeated issues and perceived rudeness could deter others. As with any service provider, potential customers are advised to consider the full spectrum of feedback and potentially seek further clarification or multiple opinions for complex or costly repairs. The contact numbers (608) 637-6766 and +1 608-637-6766 are available for inquiries.

Schlicht Automotive Customer Reviews

I heard about Paul via VAF on FB. He came highly recommended so I brought my vehicle to him. It started with an issue with my axle. When I picked my vehicle up, the sound was gone and it appeared to be fixed. I started having the same problems a few months later. He claimed to see no issues after driving my vehicle multiple times. I brought it to another mechanic to get it checked as I knew something was wrong. They told me the same exact part needed to replaced as it was worn down. There is no way it wore out in a few months. After he convinced me to get a new catalytic converter as that was needed, over 3,000.00 later for that job alone, my check engine lights have gone on and off ever since. He claimed to change a censor, however the mechanic I brought it to told me that the censor needed to be replaced to keep those lights off. Paul was incredibly short and rude with me on multiple occasions- once was after he "fixed" my car and the lights were going off. He answered and I started explaining what happened and he very sternly said I don't have time for this right now, the heat in the shop isn't working I will call you back later. He is a hot head and does not have emotional control at all. I really wish there would have been more honest reviews to read prior to taking my vehicle to him. All the money I spent on my vehicle with him- around 5,000.00 I have to spend again because he did not fix my vehicle on multiple occasions. I don't know what he did, but he is incredibly well versed in Subarus and I have no doubt he knows how to bandaid car issues. It's sad that mechanics take advantage of lay people.

Had casually commented to someone that I wished there was a place closer than LaCrosse to have my Crosstrek and Forester worked on. They suggested Paul Schlict. Gave him a try a few years ago and haven't been back to the dealership since. Very knowledgeable, honest and reasonably priced. Plus eliminates the hassle of going to LaCrosse.

Paul Schlicht is a very detail oriented mechanic that does not cut corners. He will let you know what you need. His shop rate is half the price of other shops and he is very great with Subaru cars. Engine swaps timing and head gaskets, if u have a Subaru, go to Paul.

Schlict Automotive specializes in the repair of Japanese and other asian imports, but it is clear Paul also knows his way around a GM small block V8! Our Mazda Tribute was in need of a new ignition switch, radiator and some much needed work on the exhaust system. He did a great job on all of it and did so without destroying our bank account. He was referred to us by a service center closer to our house who knew Paul was the guy we needed to perform tricky technical work on our Tribute. While his shop is a little out of the way for us we will definitely be taking our Mighty Mazda back to him when we need more work done!

Always get done what needs to be done, without being conned into a bunch of expenses for unnecessary repairs. Paul is very nice to deal with, always more than willing to explain the problems and what it's gonna take to fix. Very fair price as well!
