Ryan’s RV Repair Introduce

Ryan’s RV Repair, located at 9834 Streeter Dr, Erie, MI 48133, USA, positions itself as an Auto Repair Station specifically catering to the unique needs of recreational vehicles (RVs), motorhomes, and travel trailers. In the context of an "Auto Repair Station," Ryan's RV Repair focuses on the specialized systems and components found in RVs, which often differ significantly from standard passenger vehicles. The business aims to provide services necessary to maintain and repair these complex mobile living spaces. Customers can contact them at (419) 944-3081 or +1 419-944-3081.

The niche market of RV repair requires specific expertise in areas such as plumbing, electrical systems (both 12V and 120V), appliance repair, slide-out mechanisms, awnings, and structural integrity. For RV owners in the Erie, MI area, a dedicated service provider like Ryan's RV Repair could, in theory, offer convenient and specialized solutions for their vehicles.

Environment and Customer Experience

The operational environment and customer experience at Ryan’s RV Repair, as reflected in the provided customer reviews, appear to be significantly problematic. Instead of a typical professional service environment, the feedback points to an inconsistent and, at times, distressing customer journey. While there is no information about the physical shop's appearance or amenities, the reviews detail negative interactions that overshadow any potential positives.

Key concerns regarding the customer experience include:

  • Lack of Communication: Multiple reviews cite a severe lack of communication. Customers report unreturned calls, ignored texts, and a general difficulty in getting responses once payment has been made or a diagnosis delivered. This creates significant frustration and uncertainty for clients regarding the status of their repairs.
  • Missed Appointments: Customers experienced instances of "no call no show twice," indicating unreliability and a disregard for scheduled appointments.
  • Unprofessionalism and Rudeness: One reviewer explicitly states, "He was a no call no show twice and extremely rude and unprofessional!" This points to a breakdown in basic customer service etiquette.
  • Disregard for Customer Property: The claim of leaving a "control panel hanging out of the wall as well as the camper door wide open" suggests a lack of care for the customer's property and potentially poses security risks to the RV.
  • Lack of Follow-Through: Both reviews detail situations where Ryan's RV Repair failed to complete agreed-upon work or provide refunds for services or parts paid for but not delivered. This directly impacts customer trust and financial well-being.
  • Questionable Workmanship: One review mentions a "rusty one manufactured in 2018" being used as a replacement for a slider motor, which "didn’t work!" and subsequently led to the customer needing to pay someone else for a proper fix. This raises serious concerns about the quality of parts used and the effectiveness of the repairs performed.

The overwhelming sentiment from these reviews is one of extreme dissatisfaction, leading to financial loss, wasted time, and significant stress for the customers involved. The phrase "I suggest not to use this business or be prepared to be in court getting your money back" summarizes the severity of the reported issues.

Services Offered

Based on the provided customer reviews, Ryan’s RV Repair purports to offer specialized services for recreational vehicles. While a comprehensive list of all their intended services is not available, the reviews mention specific types of repairs they were engaged to perform:

  • RV Slide-out Motor Replacement/Repair: One review explicitly details a payment for a "slider motor" replacement.
  • RV Awning Motor Diagnosis and Repair: Another review concerns the diagnosis and attempted repair/replacement of an "awning motor."

Given the nature of an RV repair station, it is reasonable to infer that Ryan’s RV Repair likely aims to provide a broader range of services essential for RV maintenance and repair, including but not limited to:

  • General RV System Diagnostics: Identifying problems with various RV components and systems.
  • Appliance Repair: Addressing issues with RV refrigerators, ovens, water heaters, and air conditioners.
  • Plumbing System Repair: Fixing leaks, issues with fresh/grey/black water tanks, and water pumps.
  • Electrical System Repair: Troubleshooting and repairing 12V and 120V electrical issues, including converters, inverters, and shore power connections.
  • Roof and Sealant Maintenance: Addressing leaks and maintaining the integrity of the RV's roof and seals.
  • Winterization/De-winterization: Preparing RVs for storage or seasonal use.
  • Mobile Repair Services: The nature of RV breakdowns often necessitates on-site or mobile repair capabilities, although the effectiveness of such service would depend on reliability.

However, it is crucial to note that the actual delivery and quality of these services, based on the provided customer feedback, are highly questionable, with reports of incomplete work, ineffective repairs, and non-delivery of parts and services despite payment.

Features and Customer Benefits

Based on the explicit claims and the reported customer experiences, it is challenging to objectively list consistent positive features or benefits for customers of Ryan's RV Repair. The negative feedback directly contradicts the typical benefits one would expect from an Auto Repair Station.

Potential, but unfulfilled, features and intended benefits might include:

  • Specialized RV Expertise: For RV owners, a dedicated RV repair service could theoretically offer specialized knowledge of their unique vehicles compared to general auto mechanics. However, the quality of this expertise is contested by reports of faulty repairs.
  • Convenience (Mobile Service): If mobile repair services are offered, this could be a significant convenience for RV owners who cannot easily transport their large vehicles to a shop. However, the reported "no call no show" incidents undermine this potential benefit.

Conversely, the provided reviews highlight critical anti-features or significant detriments to customers:

  • Lack of Reliability: Missed appointments and unreturned communications demonstrate a severe lack of business reliability.
  • Poor Workmanship and Questionable Parts: The use of a "rusty" and non-functional part, and the need for another service to correct the work, indicates a significant issue with the quality of repairs.
  • Financial Risk: Customers report paying for services and parts that were not delivered or were ineffective, leading to significant financial losses and the need to pay other companies to complete the work.
  • Extremely Poor Customer Service: Rudeness, lack of communication, and disregard for customer property point to a highly unprofessional approach.
  • Lack of Accountability: The refusal to reimburse money for uncompleted or faulty work, forcing customers to consider legal action, is a severe detriment.
Promotional Information

Given the overwhelmingly negative customer feedback, specific promotional information for Ryan’s RV Repair is either non-existent or irrelevant in the context of the reported customer experiences. A business typically promotes itself through positive testimonials, special offers, or guarantees of service quality. However, the provided reviews paint a picture that would actively deter potential customers rather than attract them.

While any business might have a basic promotional presence (e.g., a listing, a minimal website), the severe issues reported in the customer reviews overshadow any conventional promotional claims. In such a situation, the primary "information" conveyed to potential customers is through negative word-of-mouth and public reviews, which serve as a warning rather than an invitation.

For RV owners in Erie, MI, seeking repair services, it would be highly advisable to exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence, including checking multiple, recent reviews from various platforms, and potentially seeking references, before engaging with Ryan’s RV Repair. The experiences documented in the reviews suggest that prospective customers should prioritize businesses with a proven track record of transparent communication, reliable service, and positive customer satisfaction.

I paid 504$ for a slider motor .. he replaced it with a rusty one manufactured in 2018! Of course it didn’t work! He was a no call no show twice and extremely rude and unprofessional! He left the control panel hanging out of the wall as well as the camper door wide open! Now I have to pay someone else because he refuses to reimburse my money.. it’s been almost 3 weeks!

Ryan came out was paid for the initial diagnosis of awning motor failure. He told us it had a flat spot and needed to be replaced. A day later he call and ask for a check account for the cost of the motor plus shipping of $419.28 he was given a check on July 3 2023. He cashed the check the July 5th. From that point on he did not contact us we tried to contact him when we were able to get a response it was either an excuse that he was waiting for the motor. I contacted him again on Aug. 2 if the motor had come in he texted it would be in on Friday and he would repair the awning that Monday. That was the last time he would respond to Text or phone calls. He never followed through with the repair or refund our money. I continued to call leave messages and texted him. We had to have another repair service who got the motor in 2 days which was a surprise to us since Ryan said that motor was difficult to get because of our awning be 3 yrs old. Now we have paid for another motor and service call and time to install it. I suggest not to use this business or be prepared to be in court getting your money back. Very poor customer service and communication.

Called Ryans Rv Repair to have them repair our furnace. They showed up again we explained everything that was going on with our furnace. Ryan ran furnace for a very short time. Said they would remove our furnace from our fifth wheel take it to his shop and repair it on the bench and test it then bring it back and reinstall it in our fifth wheel They then said they could not remove our furnace but that it needed a new furnace board as well as a new furnace fan motor as the shaft on the motor was bent. They came back once the parts where in and replaced furnace board as well as furnace fan motor. We paid them in full for parts as well as labor. Ryan told us we have a full 90 warranty at that point The furnace was very much quieter. And did work for a few days then stopped kicking in again. We did call Ryan back he came out did some more diagnostic and a few minor things and again furnace was again workingbwhen he left. Within a week furnace stopped kicking in yet again. This time i blew fuse called Ryan had us replace fuse tried it again. Within a few days furnace stopped working yet again. Ryan came back out did more diagnostic said issue was in zone 1 ac unit so we paid for brand new ac unit and installation of it for zone 1 We allso replaced the digital thermostat that controls both zone 1 and 2 ac as well as the furnace. Within a week same issue with the furnace. This issue and cycle continued all winter long and continued to only get worse. And Ryan got to where he would answer phone or reply to text messages. The time before last when Ryan was out and was to work on furnace and was going to replace the furnace fan again he broke a water line and soaked the furnace including the furnace board. So he let it dry for a few days came back and did replace the furnace fan again but furnace wouldnt even work for 24 hours and kicks out Ryan then said he would replace furnace board at his cost since he is one that broke water line and got water into furnace. He also informed us he was in process of moving to Florida but his Partner or employee would remain here and would be available to continue working on this. This was well over a month ago and Ryan nor anyone else will respond to our text messages or phone calls and the furnace is worse then what it was when he started working on it as it now will not work at all. We believed Ryan was trying his best but we also believe as a business owner he needs to do as he said he is going to do and if you cant repair it, and in fact make the isdue even worse then refund our money we have spent with him to fix it. Our next step is filling legal suit against Ryan and Ryans Rv Repair as we do have reciepts as well as text messages showing all this
